Diablo 4 Sorcerer BuildFrozen Orb - Jon Snow
In Season 7, Frozen Orb itself is dead. The build lives on, but purely as a generator of lightning spears to utilize the Splintering Aspect. It's a very sad day for Jon Snow enjoyers, but don't worry!!! I am on the case, and giving feedback to try and help get it to where it needs to be for future seasons. I know everyone hates when Frozen Orb just becomes a Lightning Spear build, but this is the cards we have been dealt.
The reason that Frozen Orb is dead is that the Winterglass Amulet no longer has a passive on it that is usable by Frozen Orb. Conjuration Mastery, which is now Primordial Binding, only buffs Conjuration damage in Season 7. Winterglass is essentially being used a conjuration generator, with the Splintering Aspect being the focal point.

• Frozen Orb is our main caster, used to make spears with winterglass • Unstable currents is for attack speed, and extra conjurations when we evade or cast spear • Ice Blades for ice blade spam • Spear for more spears • Ice armor for barrier and Storm Swell • Flame Shield for third tal rasha stack and immune frames
• Teleport Enchant - For movement and stacking up the Enlightenment Key passive • Frost Nova Enchant - All our conjurations will make Frost Nova's and we deal 15% more damage to anything hit by them

strengths
Splintering has good scaling
Explodes Mob Packs
Very Fast Movement
weaknesses
Frozen Orb is just a vehicle for spears
RIP Jon Snow
Build Notes
Starter and Endgame setup are the same • Cast Frozen Orb to generate conjurations • Cast Unstable Currents to increase attack speed and make more conjurations • Cast Ice Blade and Lightning Spear whenever they are off Cooldown • Ice armor to engage, and re-use it in battle whenever it is off cooldown • Flame Shield as needed to survive & gain your third TalRasha Ring stack • Evade Teleport constantly to keep good uptime on your Enlightenment key passive
• Just let your spears fly around and do their thing • Your pirahnado and Kry rune (endgame) will clump enemies for you
This build is a Splintering build that uses Frozen Orb casts with Fractured Winterglass to generate spears. It will be less strong than a Pure Splintering build that uses shock skills and unstable currents to make Lightning Spears wiith a regular amulet.
Splintering itself has also changed going into this season 7, and it is no longer a flat lightning damage aspect procced by spear. It is now an extension of Lightning Spear's Conjuration damage itself that chains. It received an indirect nerf during this transition, as Lightning Spear has a very low skill percentage. However, a bug fix to Splintering's scaling with the Crit Strike Damage Bonus alone granted it around 70% damage. In combination with other passive and paragon changes, this things as strong as it has ever been, if not stronger.
Frozen Orb isn't really Frozen Orb anymore. In season 6 and 5, Frozen Orb could function in 2 ways. 1) As a hybrid mixing Frozen Orb damage with Splintering Damage with Splintering in a 1x value aspect slot like gloves 2) As a pure Splintering build focusing solely on Splintering damage with the aspect on a 2x value Staff slot
Conjuration Mastery has been renamed to Primordial Binding. The passive no longer grants all damage, but just Summon Damage (Conjuration damage). Fractured Winterglass is stuck with the ability to get 10 ranks to primordial binding. This is great for Splintering, but terrible for Frozen Orb.
As a result, we are left with only option 2, and that is just full spec into Splintering and conjuration damage. The only reason Frozen Orb ever did decent damage in the past was the incredible amount of damage conjuration mastery provided it.
With 14 ranks to Primordial Binding, at 28% damage per stack, with a cap of 10 stacks, you are looking at 280% damage from this passive. This equates to 3.8[x] damage. This is similiar to where we were in the past. I know it sucks having to play Frozen Orb like this, but these are the cards we were dealt.
If it's any consolation, you will make a bajillion Frost Nova's.
