Diablo 4 Sorcerer BuildFrozen Orb - Jon Snow
Winterglass is a build defining unique that lets us make a ton of lightning spears, ice blades, and hydras when we cast Frozen Orb. In turn these conjurations will spawn even more frozen orbs. When we combine this with the splintering aspect, we end up with a nice hybrid.
Despite the nerfs to lightning spear and the Winterglass amulet, splintering has retained it's uncapped scaling with critical strike damage. The spear cap at 12 doesn't affect this build a ton, and you should see 18+ conjurations out to scale damage and mana regen when min maxed.
See Lightning Spear - Fallen Angel for the Staff version more focused on Splintering. It plays slower, hits harder
Raiment dropped for shroud, MOT dark shroud rune dropped for KRY so we still have pulls with vortex rune
Enchantments • Teleport Enchantment for booping around with raiment • Burning is applied with familiars formed from the Winterglass Amulet (slight skill tree tweaks to regular version) • Frozen Orb Enchantment for.... more Frozen Orbs
• You can drop Unstable currents for teleport if you want, run Snowveiled over Orange Herald
• You do NOT want to ever run Ice Blade Enchantment on Frozen Orb • You can create 3 ice blades from casting off the skill bar • You can create an additional 3 ice blades from EITHER using the enchantment, or having Winterglass create them • These are 2 separate caps, you cannot get 6 from either source alone
• If you get Greater Affix Armor pants, take a Warmth temper instead of armor. It's goated • Run GAR crit chance rune over MOT dark shroud if you don't have enough crit chance • Use a sword and aim for 77.8+ attack speed on the stat sheet in town with a 15% attack speed elixir on, will take you to a breakpoint at 122.73 with a sword after unstable currents and enlightenment • You want to pass 122.73% total - I have 124 just to be safe
Alternative Rune Setup great for PIT • TamWat - cast core and decrepify (execute at 10% and below hp and 20% DR) • XolOhm- Envoke other class power (decrepify above) and warcry for 15% damage
strengths
- High Damage, Engaging Gameplay
- Easy to Build
- Incredibly Strong without Ubers
weaknesses
- Reliant on Attack Speed & Conj Mastery Stacks
- Needs mana aspect before starless
- Caps at about T93 Pit
Build Notes
1) We will be spamming Frozen Orb, Lightning Spear, and Ice blades whenever we can
2) We utilize Ice armor defensively for a large barrier, and you can pretty much press it whenever it comes off cooldown in the endgame builds. It is typically an engage.
3) Teleport is used for mobility, and to dodge exploding pools
4) Flame shield is used to immune frame boss/shade attacks and exploding pools. You can also use it as an engage if Ice armor is down.
This is a Hybrid Frozen Orb + Lightning Spear build that is my favorite build. It's the one I put most of my time into.
The Fractured Winterglass amulet received some extremely large buffs going into season 5, and was subsequently nerfed slightly going into Season 6. The reduce conjuration affix has been moved to the implicit, so you are stuck at 0.3 seconds per frozen orb explosion. This does not effect this build at all. We want Conjuration mastery ranks.
We take the Splintering Aspect on a sword to get huge value out of all the lightning spears we make. Your lightning spears will obliterate everything in sight due to the chaining portion of the splintering aspect. Running splintering over a damage aspect such as shredding blades or storm swell is a slight DPS loss on single target. The benefits splintering provides heavily outweighs the single target damage loss.
Splintering is especially potent when Mobbing due to it's critical strike damage scaling and it's ability to chain it's damage. Because this is a Frozen orb build focuses on attack speed, we opt for a sword/focus setup instead of a Staff setup. I want attack speed to cast more Frozen orbs and make more conjurations. You should be able to reach 20+ conjurations with this build, the max that is available. With 13 ranks to Conjuration mastery, that is 260%[x] more damage
The more conjurations we can get out, the higher our damage will be because of the Conjuration Mastery Passive. This passive also increases our mana regen which helps sustain this high attack speed. It also increases our movement speed to easily cap at 200%, which maxes out the 40% crit chance bonus from Esu's Heirloom boots. This build should hit 100% crit chance after the bonus crit chance from Esu's boots.
