Diablo 4 Sorcerer BuildChain Lightning - Emperor Palpatine
Chain Lightning and Axial Conduit's are pretty strong together, they are just extremely mana hungry. It can be tricky to solve, but with the right tools, we can handle it. This build gets most of it's damage from the Axial Conduit pants and chain lightning, but Frostburn's add a sizeable amount of damage worth the slot.
• Teleport Enchantment - Taken for movement mainly. Gotta go fast
Ice Blade Enchantment - is taken to get primordial binding stacks for mana regen and to reduce cooldowns
• If recharging on your ring isn't cutting it for mana regen, try elemental acuity • Worst case you run Recharging and Elemental Acuity on Amulet/Ring
Flickersteps are really good for resetting the cooldown of unstable currents
strengths
- Very Fast (Speedfarm)
- Great Visuals
- You are the Senate
weaknesses
- Darth Vader will eventually betray you
- Mana regen is an issue, until it isn't
Build Notes
You really just go around spam casting Chain Lightning and evading frequently.
Use all your cooldowns liberally, except for flameshield and frost nova which you save for when you need them.
Frost nova is typically used when you first engage a large pack.
Flame shield is used to escape certain death, or stay for an extra couple seconds to fight an elite.
Chain Lightning (CL) is in a pretty solid spot right now. It can be very mana intensive because of the drain from the Axial Conduit pants, but once you get the right gear it comes into it's own.
CL is a fasted pace build with great visuals. You cast CL's and Axial Conduits track how many you have casted. Your CL's alternate between orbiting you and then bouncing off up to 3 enemies in a quick time frame. Whenever the CL's return to orbit you, the pants drain 6 mana per second per active CL, and every 66 mana drained it explodes for a pretty big damage chunk in a moderate area.
If you run out of mana, the cycle ends and you have to start recasting. Good builds will get anywhere between 8-12 CL's out on average at any given time and never really run out of mana and the Axial Pants do their damage proc about every second.
The name of the game is to stack attack speed to cast as many CL's as possible. Once you solve the resource part of the build, you are just limited by your attack speed in how often you can get the pants to do their big damage proc.
Because you drain so much mana, nodes like Shimmering Ice armor that reduce Ice Armor's cooldown by 1 second for every 50 mana spent make it so you get your ice armor back incredibly fast. Unless something 1 shots you, you generally won't die because of this constant application of Ice armor. In addition you can utilize Runes like POC to generate an absurd amount of offering, as you get 5 offering for every 5% mana spent. Starting off you can use POC + LUM to restore resource, and restore half of all the mana you spend.
This build likes when enemies are clumped as the Axial Conduit procs will hit everybody in its moderate sized area of effect. You can opt to run the Raiment Chest piece if you want, but it makes you pretty squishy. I really only advise Raiment in speedfarm level content.
