Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Beat down your enemies with Mega Bear Punch Pulverize! If you want to really feel the power of your attacks, this is the build for you. Then any time you want to blast a boss you can change to Greater Pulverize Pulverize for even more damage!

  • Check additional tabs for Mid-Game, End-Game, and Speed Farming variations of the build.
  • The loot filter on the right will help you spot the important items for the build and even some other items that can work until you get what you need!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Pit 130 cleared

Important Notes

  • If you don't need Gift of the Stag to sustain resources you can use Prickleskin for additional damage or Wariness for additional survivability.
  • Earthen Bulwark is not used on the skill bar and is instead used automatically with Que Rune.
  • Lightning Storm is used to apply Vulnerable but also to reset the Grizzly Rage cooldown through Calm Before the Storm.
  • Grizzly Rage offers a huge damage buff and armor.
  • Cyclone Armor gives good a survivability increase and can also be changed to allow for additional pull.
  • Wolves tank enemies but are primarily used for a large passive 40% Attack Speed buff.
  • Claw gives stacks of Ferocity when used which will increase the rate that Lightning Storm hits for better Calm Before the Storm procs. The Ferocity also increases our overall DPS through Attack Speed.
  • Pulverize is used as our main damage skill with Mega Bear Punch Pulverize but can also be changed to Greater Pulverize Pulverize to increase single target DPS for hard bosses.

Important Notes

  • A lot of our survivability relies on Aspect of Glynn's Anvil combined with Maximum Resolve Tempers on the helmet, chest, pants, and amulet. You can get 12 Maximum Resolve per item through a GA Temper plus the Masterworking bonus.
  • Aspect of the Ursine Horror is required. You can get it with Kullean Tuning Prisms on amulet as I've recommended or on boots.
  • Overcharged Aspect is required to apply Vulnerable. Without it you will need to use Vulnerable Cyclone Armor.
  • Tibault's Will combined with Que Rune are required to generate enough resources.
  • Without Ring of Starless Skies you will need to run Derecho Hurricane instead of Lightning Storm to sustain resources.
  • It is more important than average builds to maximize Critical Strike Chance because many bonuses are tied to Critical Strike Damage.
  • Itemization is never perfect in reality so I recommended Physical Damage Multiplier in all optional places but Willpower can be swapped in those places depending on RNG. Even Vulnerable Damage Multiplier can alternatively be Physical Damage Multiplier or Willpower as needed. Attack Speed or Maximum Life are acceptable but not ideal unless you need the survivability from Maximum Life.
  • If you need more survivability check your Maximum Resolve stacks first then if you're still struggling you can get more Maximum Life on items or in the Paragon boards.

Talismans

Talisman Priority
+7

Important Notes

I prefer skill ranks on my charms in this order:

  1. Nature Magic (Best overall for added survivability)
  2. Shapeshifting (This is ideal if you have Grizzly Rage downtime)
  3. Werebear (This is ideal if you have Grizzly Rage downtime)
  4. Earth

Skill Tree

Available2 (0)
Spent69 (12)

Important Notes

  • Earthen Bulwark is not used on the skill bar and is instead used automatically with Que Rune.
  • Any upgrades not chosen on skills are intentional.

Paragon Board

  • Important Notes
  • Prioritize getting all Legendary Nodes before all else. Example: Survival Instincts
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 25 before going higher unless you cannot equip the next Glyph yet.
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 50 before going higher on any.

Glyph Leveling Order

  1. Spirit
  2. Earth and Sky
  3. Outmatch
  4. Dominate
  5. Headhunter
  • Werebear can be used for more survivability instead of Headhunter.

Mercenary

How it Plays

Skill Rotations

  1. When you first enter a zone be careful because you will need to stack Resolve before you are tanky.
  2. You can spam Pulverize to generate Resolve quickly but at minimum you should stay in Werebear form to get stacks from Might of the Ursine.
  3. Attack enemies with Claw to generate 4 stacks of Ferocity which is the fanged mouth buff icon.
  4. Toggle Lightning Storm on with maximum Ferocity stacks for maximum effect.
  5. Activate Grizzly Rage to increase Armor and damage. Lightning Storm will no longer be on the skill bar but you will still maintain the benefits as long as resources are maintained.
  6. Attack enemies with Mega Bear Punch Pulverize to group them with Purified Lightbringer and continue attacking until they die.
  7. Claw can be used for repositioning and to maintain Ferocity if desired. This can also be used for resources if needed, but this is not necessary if you have set up the build correctly.
  • Cyclone Armor and Wolves are 100% passive.

How it Works

This build utilizes various synergies related to buffing Core, Earth, Werebear, Nature Magic, and Overpower.

  • Might of the Ursine scales our damage immensely through Maximum Resolve stacking. We can easily get 58 stacks and it's 13% per stack. That's 754% increased damage from one item!
  • Aspect of Glynn's Anvil will do the same for the survivability side with 4% per stack!
  • Berú of the Old Mountain gives a huge damage boost through a Petrify mechanic which triggers when we deal Earth skill damage.
  • Petrified enemies will tally any damage we do during the Petrify and then release 200% of the damage we dealt to that enemy and the enemies around them which synergizes with the pull from Purified Lightbringer.
  • By using Lightning Storm we're able to maintain the long cooldown on Grizzly Rage and also apply Vulnerable consistently.
  • Tibault's Will offers additional damage and resource generation which is key to maintaining resources in the build.
  • Staying in Werebear form with Grizzly Rage allows us to take advantage of many bonuses throughout the build and Grizzly Rage itself gives 200% more damage.
  • Aspect of the Ursine Horror still gives Pulverize the Earth tag which opens up many damage options in the build.
