Gift of the Stag can help give you that extra Spirit every second. Otherwise the whole Deer category is pretty strong — Wariness for damage reduction against elites, Advantageous Beast for movement speed, and honestly all of them work fine here. Prickleskin is solid too because it boosts your damage against enemies after they hit you.

Always a must take is Avian Wrath from the Eagle category. That flat 40% critical strike damage is a massive multiplier and feels straight-up overpowered.

For your second Eagle boon you can pick whatever you’re missing: Scythe Talons if you want more crit chance, Iron Feather for extra defense, or Swooping Attacks if you need more attack speed.

For leveling there are a few aspects that are really worth mentioning.

Aspect of Might is very important — it reduces the damage you take, so I recommend keeping it on as much as possible.

I would suggest putting offensive aspects ring or amulet if you have to, but it’s definitely best used on a weapon.

If you have problems with cc's you can use the Eluding Aspect for your pants or boots so you can break crowd control more easily.

These are the main ones that will make your leveling experience much smoother.

Just keep filling in whatever you can as you level up and wait for the important ones to unlock. The build still feels good even before you have everything.

Paragon Board

The paragon board I showed is just a suggestion.

Rush all the legendary nodes and skip everything else early on. Your glyphs are going to be pretty low level at the beginning, so there’s no point wasting points on filler nodes. Just grab the big legendary bonuses as fast as you can.

Mercenary

We use Subo with Wire Trap for Movement Speed and Cover Fire for Critical Strike Damage. In addition, Subo provides us with the invaluable ability to see Elites on our Minimap.

Our secondary Mercenary is Raheir with Crater to pull in.

How it Plays

Here’s the simple rotation for the Lightning Storm leveling build:

  1. When you’re low on resources, use Wind Shear — your basic skill — to generate more.
  2. Lightning Storm is your main damage skill until you get Cataclysm. It’s a channeling ability, so make sure to keep the buff active. The buff only lasts 5 seconds, and the more you stack it, the more damage it does.
  3. Use Trample whenever you need to break crowd control or for mobility.
  4. Once you unlock it, Cataclysm becomes your main source of damage. Keep it up as much as possible.
  5. Blood Howl increases your damage and heals you. Use it whenever you need healing or a damage boost.
  6. Cyclone Armor is your main defense. Just keep it active all the time as a passive buff.

How it Works

Lightning Storm is a low spirit cost skill with great AoE. We're going to focus on stacking out as much damage as we can through our aspects and tempers. We're also going to pick up as much spirit per second to sustain channeling our Lightning Storm.

On your defensive gear pieces, be sure to prioritize armor and elemental resistances to avoid frequent deaths as you climb into higher difficulty tiers. Make sure you pick up your Mercenary early on as Raheir can provide you with some extra armor or resistances and even save you from taking fatal damage.

Once you get Lightning Storm rolling, you'll be clearing packs of enemies and deleting bosses all the way to level 60!
