Build Overview

You will need The Third Blade in order for the build to work. It cannot work without it.

Please read through the How it works section of the planner and if you have further questions you can join me live on Twitch, YouTube, TikTok and X. If you have questions while I'm not live, join Discord. We have a team and community ready to answer all your questions! You can also check out Cliptis.com for a collection of all my How-To guides.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Insanely Tanky
  • Fast Attack Speed
  • Good Mob Control
  • No Quake
  • Very Gear Dependant
  • Very Gear Specific

Build Variants

This is an end game build. Death Blow builds require very specific gear to get them to work at peak performance. There are ways to substitute but it does not function like it normally would without them. You will need The Third Blade in order for the build to work. It cannot work without it.

Technique

When choosing your Barbarian Weapon Expertise Technique, you do not have to be using the weapon of the Weapon Expertise Technique you chose.

Example:

  • Expertise chosen is Polearm - 15%(x) increased Lucky Hit Chance and you deal 15(x) increased damage while healthy
  • Arsenal Selection: Mace - Lucky Hit: Chance to gain 5 Fury when hitting an enemy. Double the amount of Fury gained while Berserking and you deal 15(x) Critical Strike Damage while Berserking.

With the above set up, you gain the Weapon Expertise Technique bonus of having your Arsenal Selection set to Two-Handed Mace, as well as the Weapon Expertise Technique bonus for the Polearm Technique.

How it Works

Build Overview

Arsenal Selection

  • This build will be running on a Two-handed Mace set up
  • If you would like to learn how to set your weapon selection watch this video: How to Select Weapons video

Overpower Explanation

Overpower has changed with the launch of the Lord of Hatred. It is no longer a multiplier, it acts as a buff to your damage. The one thing that Overpower does is add a lot of additive damage. This is harder to come by, so it becomes a very valuable resource.

Depending on how you build your build, you will have several different ways of generating overpower. It will be important to maintain the buff. Your overpower buff will last for 4 seconds and then 1 stack will be removed. If you have something like Blood Boiling Aspect and you pair it with Dominate eventually will have stacks of overpower 100% of the time. This is just one example of how you can gain Overpower stacks.

If you want to learn the basics about Multipliers watch this video: Additive vs. Multiplicative Damage video.

How this build uses Overpower

We will be taking advantage of Earthstriker's Aspect to gain stacks of Overpower. When you use Whirlwind it will use your Dual Wield weapons and when you canst Death Blow it will swap weapons automatically to your Two-handed Mace. This counts as a weapon swap and will give you a stack of Overpower. We need Overpower because we are running Crusher and Aspect of the Warpath.

Fury Management

The only Fury spender in this build is Rallying Cry. If you run out of Fury it's ok, it's not going to stop Summons from spawning. It means you just don't get the Ancient from Rallying Cry. This will only be an issue in the Push variant because of Crown of Lucion. To solve this issue.

  • Chance to Restore Primary Resources as an affix will be activated by your Summons
    • You will need it on both Dual-wield weapons and your Two-handed Slashing weapon.
  • If this isn't enough, you can add Resource Generation onto your Amulet temper.

Defense (Non-Selig)

  • Take all defense nodes inside the Paragon board first. All Maximum Life, Resistances, and Armor nodes.
  • You can use glyphs like Ire or Territorial to help keep yourself alive.
  • Make sure all your gear has Maximum Life on it and you can then add Resistances, and Armor as needed.
  • Life on Hit is a great option for you
  • Enchant Aspect of Heavenly Strength onto your Amulet slot (Non Selig Variants)
