Witherhoard is a top option for clearing multiple low health targets and dealing single target damage. It accomplishes the former through its area of effect damage pool which can kill clusters of low health enemies that are close to one another. Single target damage is accomplished by it ability to apply damage over time, and because the catalyst grants Auto-Loading Holster. The optimal way to damage a single target with Witherhoard is to directly hit a target which applies the damage over time, swap to other damage options, allow Auto-Loading Holster to reload Witherhoard, swap back to Witherhoard and repeat the process. Bait and Switch is a perk that pairs very well with Witherhoard as it synergizes with the playstyle of swapping weapons for dealing damage. As for PvP, Witherhoard is best used for game modes with an objective capture point as it can be used for area denial. Even in game modes without a capture point, use Witherhoard to deny map control, revives, and heavy ammo.
