Build Details
This build turns you into a ball of lightning that gives you a bunch of buffs and debuffs. Lightning Surge allows you to blink forward and jolt everything around you each time you slide and melee. And with the Arcane Needle melee, you get 3 charges to use back to back. This alone is really powerful but we're going to build on this so we can instantly get 3 buffs and work towards even more buffs and debuffs. The other aspect we're using is Feed The Void. This will give us devour each time we get an ability kill, whether that be a grenade, super, or melee which includes Lightning Surge. So just blink in to kill a bunch of enemies and apply jolt to anything you don't kill, then you'll get devour to heal after every kill and gain grenade energy after every kill. So not only will you be spamming melees, you will also have a lot of grenades, and not have to worry about dying.
---EXOTIC--- Now for the exotic I was trying to decide between Necrotic Grips to apply poison with every lightning surge, and Claws of Ahamkara to get a 4th melee charge. But then I found this: an exotic class item with Spirit of the Necrotic and Spirit of the Claw. Both of the exotics I wanted wrapped into one. So now I have a more reliable stockpile of melees and they apply poison for even more destruction.
---WEAPONS--- I don't normally go over all 3 weapons in the loadout because most of the time 2 of them change depending on the activity, but all of these weapons play off of each other very well and can be used pretty much anywhere. The primary we're using is Breachlight. This is a "new" sidearm that gets a bunch of great perks but the only 2 we're concerned about are Pugilist to give us melee energy after every kill and Swashbuckler for a 33% damage buff each time we get a melee kill, which reminder is all the time. It's also strand which will become more important once we get into the fragments. The Exotic weapon we're using is Buried Bloodline. This is a special ammo sidearm that gives devour. We already have a way to get devour so it isn't that important but what is important is its catalyst. With this, while you have devour, hits with Buried Bloodline will apply weaken to enemies. That means all your other weapons and abilities will deal 15% more damage to that target. And since we should have devour all the time, you can just keep weakening everything. And for our heavy weapon we have Edge Transit, a really strong grenade launcher that will happily take advantage of the debuff given by Buried Bloodline. It's also void so you can double up on void armor mods and it gets even better with subclass fragments.
---FRAGMENTS--- We have Facet of Bravery to give Breachlight Unraveling Rounds each time we get a kill with lightning surge and both of our void weapons Volatile Rounds Each time we get a kill with a grenade. If you're playing the build correctly, you should have at least of these buffs active at all times. We also have Facet of Balance to recharge our melee energy each time we kill enemies with Light Damage and grenade energy each time we kill enemies with Dark Damage, Facet of Courage so our abilities will deal more damage to anything we hit with Breachlight, Facet of Dawn to become Radiant each time we lightning surge, and Facet of Protection for damage reduction since we're getting right up in everyone's business.
---MODS--- Now for the mods we're using a Siphon Mod to create orbs of power with Breachlight, Heavy Handed to create orbs of power with every Lightning Surge melee, Momentum Transfer and Impact Induction to make melees and grenades refill each other, Invigoration to reduce our melee cooldown each time we pick up orbs of power, void weapon surge for a damage buff, void scavenger to pick up more ammo for Buried Bloodline and Edge Transit, and Outreach, Reaper, and Powerful Attraction to get extra value out of our class ability.
---GAMEPLAY LOOP--- With that being said, the gameplay loop is pretty simple. Lightning Surge to gain Devour, Radiant, Unraveling Rounds, poison everything around you, and create an orb of power for your weapon surges, then use Buried Bloodline to weaken bigger targets, use Edge Transit to melt bosses, and use Breachlight for ad clear to get your melee and grenade energy back very quickly so you can just keep spamming abilities and repeat the cycle. Suck it Titans, Warlocks have the better melee build now.
