The weapon is classified as a sidearm but is more like a crossbow. It shoots two shots at once and if both shots hit you lifesteal from the target. When getting a multikill you gain Devour. With the catalyst it weakens on hit if you have Devour. The loop is quite simple as using the gun will get you Devour and from there hits will weaken, and kills will perpetuate Devour.

The best use of this weapon is on a non-void subclass. Using it on Void is not worth it as you can easily get Devour with a fragment and not dedicate an exotic weapon for it. The exotic does open up the ability for Devour and in turn healing and grenade regeneration on a non-void class.

The value of this exotic is in being able to give good builds that rely on grenades and/or have a lack of healing a boost from the benefits of Devour.
