Destiny 2 Warlock BuildPoltergeist (Geomag)

This is a Chaos Reach build.

• Healing rift is one of our few survival tools.

• Either melee is fine, we aren't using them much. Chain Lightning jolts but Ball Lightning has more range.

• Any grenade works. I like flashbang because then any grenade thrown blinds for unstoppable champions.

Again we get a rapid loop of ionic trace generation with Electrostatic Mind and Ionic Sentry.

Ionic Sentry also gives Bolt Charge so your abilities hit that much harder.

• Frequency - we are taking this for the second part, double bolt charge.

• Shock - yet another way to add a debuff and make ionic traces.

• Discharge - another way to make ionic traces. Note it isn't actually an RNG. It is a counter, three red bars makes one. It doesn't interrupt Electrostatic Mind either, which is why you'll sometimes see double ionic traces heading your way. This also grants bolt charges.

• Beacons - more blind = more traces

• I am still enjoying Queenbreaker even after the artifact change, but Grandoverture also will work very well here. In some scenarios, Anarchy will also be nice, but it does not have blind like those other two to contribute to our super.

An important aspect to this build for weapons is having a high uptime of a weapon that can apply jolt. You can go with a special with good ammo economy or a primary. Going with a primary is the safer option because you lose part of the loop if you run out of one option for ionic traces. You do still have the Ionic Sentry for blind and grenades for jolt though. But this comes down to a mix of preference, stats, and content.

For me, with the new ammo generation system and tiered difficulties, I rebuilt this to mainly use a special weapon, with a kinetic primary being a backup for ammo generation. Kinetic is useful as it charges Ionic Sentry. However, you might also want a stasis or strand for artifact perks. There just isn't one with the Impromptu Ammo perk.

Armor Sets

This build really needs some extra healing so 2x Bushido. 2x Techsec is the only other one that makes much sense.

Stats

Super as high as you can then weapons.

Health and class are smaller priorities as we do not have that much damage mitigation.

We aren’t really using our grenade much. The Ionic Sentry charges the same regardless. But a bit of points in anything helps you via ionic traces.

But we can font it up a bit, since we don’t need much else on arms.

Armor Mods Taking special ammo finder, since we're trying to use that as our primary and special ammo contributes more to heavy ammo generation. The kinetic again is really our backup option if we run out of special.

Champions

We have Overloads covered with jolt and Unstoppables with blind.

We need the artifact for Barriers. And this season, that locks us in to one of two weapon types we'll have to fit somewhere - scout or pulse.

Unfortunately, that limits our options for the ideal ammo generation options.

Sublimation does roll with impromptu ammunition, BUT that takes up a good 3rd column perk for reload speed and it only has voltshot not jolting feedback.

So I would just go with an arc jolting primary if facing Barrier champs.

Artifact Perks

Overall we get some nice artifact perks.

• Refresh Threads - more ability uptime

• Elemental Coalescence - even more ionic traces

• Elemental Overdrive - You will basically always have 10% arc damage bonus

• Reciprocal Draw if going Indebted Kindness

• Shieldcrush - some needed grenade recharge

• Elemental Daze - mostly redundant, but more never hurts

• Shoulder to Shoulder - better than nothing.

We have:

• lots of blind
• damage reduction from amplified
• rapidly recharged rifts from so many ionic traces
• Can do it all from the safety of range and/or cover
• healing rift
• heals from Bushido

If you are in something more close quarters, you can easily swap in Delicate Tomb. We make enough ionic traces that Delicate Tomb will almost always jolt.
