Destiny 2 Warlock BuildDawn Chorus Build
PvEThis weapon fires Hive worms which explode on impact. The size and damage of the explosion scales with the number of enemies you've defeated just before firing this weapon.
Your Daybreak projectiles deal more damage and scorch targets on impact. Your scorch is improved and you gain a small amount of melee energy when your scorch damages a target.

With the Solar Subclass we have the Daybreak Roaming super. Because of that, I can’t think of a better exotic to bring than Dawn Chorus. This makes your Daybreak projectiles deal 90% more damage and apply 30 scorch. The other part of this is that scorch now also deals 200% more damage and will give 5% melee energy per tick.
Since scorch will deal more damage and give back melee energy the first thing we want to do is bring ember of ashes to apply more stacks of scorch per instance. On our super this means projectiles will now ignite in 3 hits instead of 4 and for other occurrences like incandescent or incinerator snap we will be applying more scorch stacks leading to more damage and melee energy in the process.
I love solar for it’s pure survivability. Which is why we bring the healing grenade paired with touch of flame to consistently get restoration times 2. To ensure we have restoration active nearly all the time, I like to also bring ember of empyrean and use solar weapons so that all ability and solar weapon kills will extend our restoration.
That’s why I also bring hellion. While some might like Icarus dash for movement, or heat rises for the melee energy, hellion is the best for my playstyle. Giving you another way to constantly scorch enemies and getting extra kills to keep our restoration timer high and feeding back more melee energy.
This also means that in group content you can bring ember of benevolence to rapidly gain back all your abilities, but I find ember of singeing to be the most consistent. That way you can gain back your phoenix dive at an increased 400% rate to constantly have a solar buddy at your side.
The best thing to do is to get your restoration going. You can pop your phoenix dive to create a solar buddy. Then throw your healing grenade at your feet and immediately use your melee or weapons to extend the restoration that it provides. Then continuously use your primary weapon, popping any of your abilities whenever you get them back. Besides your grenade. Save that until you run out of restoration.
You can use your super for either ad clearing or boss damage since you get it back very quickly.
