Build Details
This Arc Hunter build uses the exotic chest piece, Gifted Conviction. See with this exotic, any time we jolt nearby enemies, we get a stacking Damage Resistance. by jolting 1 target you get Resist x2 or 25%, with 2 jolts you get x3 Resist and by applying jolt 3 times you get the maximum of x4 Resist which is equivalent to 50% DR. The beautiful thing is that this also stacks with any other form of Damage Resistance. So that means accounting for being Amplified, surrounded, mods, and stats, we can consistently have 81% DR.
The beautiful thing about this build is that it’s so easy to proc this DR. Stats, mods, and being surrounded will happen naturally. With amplified and our resistance all we have to do is use our Ascension to Jolt enemies and become amplified. Throw in the fact that our grenade, melee, and weapon will all also jolt targets and you can easily keep up this x4 Resistance.
So we’re estabilished that this build has incredible survivability, but that is only half of what you need in an endgame build. The other half of that is Damage. Now most builds will either have really good ad clearing damage or Boss damage. Thankfully this build has both. With Gathering storm putting out some decent numbers and it’s ease of use on any boss, you can easily melt bosses. And since this build is all about applying jolt for that Resistance, we inherently have a ton of AOE damage.
For normal Ad clearing sections, this build it pretty simple, in most cases you want to start any encounter by using your Ascension to become amplified and jolt enemies for your damage resistance. Then you can choose to do you dodge melee cycle to keep healing and killing, or you can use your grenades and weapons to create ionic traces which will feed you more bolt charge. Both options are viable and will keep up your damage resistance.
When it comes to DPS phases, Since we have Limit Break this season, You want to start the DPS phase by using your ascension to become amplified to give your gathering storm 30% more damage. Then throw your Gathering storm, and immediately pull out your weapons and start going to town. Feel free to throw those grenades whenever you get them back for more damage.
The only other thing to note is that with lethal current, you get that damaging after shock, which is nice but can be weird at times with combination blow. See if the aftershock actually gets the kill, it won’t count as a melee kill therefore it won’t proc mods, or refund your class ability, so just melee another target to continue the cycle. That’s why for the most part I like to use my ascension instead since it won’t proc the damaging after shock, but it will jolt enemies, meaning that when you melee them, it will blind them.
