Build Details
The Subclass This build takes advantage of the Heresy artifact and Buried bloodline to control the battlefield using volatile explosion, weakening pulses, unraveling swarms, and suspending tangles in order to clear rooms effectively.
Using buried bloodline, we can quickly obtain devour (although the watered down version) primarily to keep our grenade charged as consuming the grenade ensures that our final blows create suspending pulses across the system.
Using the swarmers exotic in combination with The Wanderer allows our tangles to spawn threadlings that sever and unravel targets and continue to create more tangles to suspend and debuff our targets. This combination can allow you to remove the need for threadling grenade and weavers call.
Devour on strand can only be obtained through buried bloodline currently (please bungie give us another way to get devour universally) but devour gives you back 50% of your health, which is being reduced 45% slower and between 7.5% and 20% grenade energy, based on combatant tier.
With weavers call gone, we can save our rift for better oppurtunities, as I prefer to have my rift ready for quick healing rather than using it as an offensive tool.
As for our fragments, Evolution is a given to further buff our threadling damage by 33%. We take wisdom to create more orbs to feed warding, giving us woven mail for 45% damage resistance. Finally, Generation is there for more grenade regen as the build is quite reliant on having Weavers Trance active in during engagments. We use devour and a grenade kickstart to supplement this cooldown. If you wanted to, swap out grenade kickstart for another CwL mod of choice, like surges. You could/should also replace 1 helmet siphon with a void siphon as multikills with Bloodline will be common.
The Armor Swarmers is the obvious pick to buff up our tangles and threadlings to make them more powerful, even without the artifact. Since weavers trance pulses also counts as grenade damage, momentum transfer and bolstering detonation should give melee and class ability energy when a pulse goes off. Stats should go: Res > Dis > Rec > Int > Str although you could take higher Str over Int
The Arsenal Kinetic - Any strand weapon is preferable, the new Mirror Imago with overflow/hatchling or sword logic can be helpful but you may prefer ol' reliable (Rufus' Fury). You could also fill in Refusal of the Call, Unsworn, or any strand fusion for champions. Notably, a resolve Barrow-Dyad with hatchling or OfA could also slot in nicely, if you would like to forego the devour buff. I've personally noticed that I seem to get more tangles when using resolve over ambition, leading me to believe that the bouncing seekers don't respect your tangle cooldown, but that's conjecture.
Energy - Obviously buried bloodline. It benefits greatly from the suspend buff making it far easier to hit precision spots and the artifact can provide ample volatile explosions that can also clear rooms. Buried bloodline offers anti-barrier capabilities so another good reason to lug it around
Heavy - Wild Card. Pick up Cynosure or whip out a 2024 Crowning Duologue or even a Semiotician to take advantage of the new rocket launcher perks (I've been using a Recon/Explo-Light Cyno to great effect). You could also use a strand LMG like Mercato for overload machine gun and general ad-clear. A strand heavy isn't required but it makes the most out of the artifact.
Why this build? Now that all the tech yapping is out of the way, why would you use this build? I think that this build is far more fun to play than phoenix dive into weavers call and threadling grenades on prismatic. Is it more viable? Probably not; but you will likely have more fun unless you really enjoy playing meta builds like getaway artist or Barrow spam. I really hope we get better primary strand choices soon.
1a. Kill 2 or more targets with Buried Bloodline to proc devour 1b. Eat your shackle grenade to gain Weavers Trance 2. Continue to gather kills with any weapon; Strand weapons can apply unravel (anti-barrier) while Buried bloodline can proc many artifact perks that can weaken, apply volatile, give class ability energy, etc. 3. Continue to eat your grenade when its duration ends and keep up Devour
