How It Works

Class Item - HOIL / Coyote

In general, keep ability regen up. Multiple class ability charges and melee charges, and dodging near enemies instantly recharges one melee. Any ability kills charge gunpowder gamble, so spam as often as possible, and try to use stasis melee to finish off low health targets. HOIL gives up to 8x ability regen rate, so mobility and strength are not a high priority.

Walking into a fresh encounter, we want to proc devour with buried bloodline. Once up, devour, frost armor (orb pick up), and facet of protection should keep us alive, while Heart of Inmost Light, Devour, and armor mods keep our abilities up. Abilities and buried bloodline should clear most captains and general ads easily, even in Master content.

HOIL will proc on prismatic grenades and gunpowder gamble, so don’t be scared to use them right away. Keep in mind that facet of courage allows all three grenades (magnetic, GG, and prismatic) to do more damage to dark debuff targets, so make sure you dodge near enemies to debuff (winters shroud), pick up orbs, and proc more HOIL. Stasis melee also counts as dark debuff.

FOR BOSSES AND CAPTAINS Magnetic grenade can weaken targets, so throw that first and then go edge transit/bait and switch for point damage. If you have transcendence, make sure to throw mag grenade first in a damage phase, then transcend as you’ll lose magnetic grenade while in it. Stasis melee will dark debuff also, so throw every once in awhile to increase all 3 grenade damage.

ALTERNATE OPTIONS Recommend anti-barrier pulse and unstop sidearm in season artifact, but primary weapon is optional if you prefer sniper or SMG. Argument could be made for solar weapon to feed GG, or a stasis/strand to feed darkness transcendent energy. Also, class item with HOIL is a must have, but if you don’t have coyote, cyrtarachne is a good survivability option, or liars or synthoceps for more melee damage since we’re throwing so many… in all of these cases I recommend higher mobility though, at least T8, to bring back class ability quicker.

Gameplay Loop

General Ads:

  1. Proc devour with a buried bloodline kill
  2. Stasis melee THEN grenade
  3. Dodge near targets to debuff and restore melee energy
  4. Gunpowder gamble as soon as available
  5. If Devour expires, re-proc with buried bloodline kill

Bosses and Captains: 1. Mag grenade to weaken 2. Transcendence or super if available 3. Bait and switch proc / edge transit 4. Throw stasis melee before any grenade
