SO you wanna play the MOST aggressive Warlock Support in the game?
While I crafted this build in S23, it has been a constant source of fun and support alongside of coordinated Fireteams centered around Banner Titan. Whether you simply feel like you cannot keep up with these machines on Warlock, or you simply desire the most aggressive Warlock playstyle known to Guardians, this is hands down the MOST unique build I have ever crafted. It has withstood nearly 3 years of trial and error to boot, and boasts some of the most incredible synergy you've never experienced.
Navigator is hands down one of the most potent weapons in the game when in the right FT, yet it offers virtually ZERO synergy on Strand Titan. It cripples the playstyle of these punching warlords and essentially does nothing more than generate Grapple Points. However, this build allows a FT to fully take advantage of a Trace Rifle without crippling aggression.
Here's the basic strategy and rundown:
- Mark a Boss or Champion
- Strand Titan deletes Boss or Champ, creating Heavy for self and Special for you
- Spam ammo to clear anything left.
- Rinse & Repeat.
For major boss fights, dropping Well and a Grapple Point essentially turns your Strand Titans into the greatest force known to Guardian kind. For everything else, you serve as ad clear and sustain for your FT. While a Shotgun might seem like an odd choice for what is essentially a Primary, it enables one to stay in the "hip pocket" of their Banner Titan(s), cycling one's abilities for both themself and their punching warlords. Ember of Benevolence refeeds these abilities at an absurd rate, allowing one to constantly procc Radiance via Incinerator Snap, further enhanced by Ember of Searing, an Incandescent Special, and Helion. Additionally, all of these components also keep Ember of Singeing active at almost all times. Phoenix Dive is rarely unavailable on this build, allowing near infinite ability cycles.
On the subject of Phoenix Dive, the x2 Dynamo & x2 Distribution grant nearly 12% of one's Super by dropping down into groups of ads, a rather natural playstyle and strategy when alongside of a Strand Titan. Icarus Dash allows for quick escapes within these engagements, especially with an Eager. The Eager Edge also enables Well Skating, another viable strategy for skips, as Strand Titans can often Grapple+Sword Fly* across maps. Keeping pace with them is incredibly important.
Lastly is the general ammo economy and Exotic centerpieces here- Nav +Cenotaph. Navigator enables one to give themselves Woven Mail to further the aggressive pace this build demands. Additionally, tagging allies throughout the fight keeps Banner Titan's Into the Fray Aspect active at all times, allowing them to dish out the heavy hitting as necessary. The Strand Titan's ability to nuke high value targets with Abilities means that FTs can save their Heavy for Boss fights and spam it for ad clear where Ability Spam isn't enough. Thanks Cenotaph!
