How It Works

At the start of Revenant, significant adjustments were made to both Thundercrash and the Cuirass of the Fallen Star, enhancing Thundercrash's damage potential.

This super received a 33% boost to its base detonation damage, sometimes seeming to exceed its intended damage output. Consequently, the damage potential of Thundercrash has skyrocketed beyond the capabilities of Twilight Arsenal, rivaled only by the Bladefury Strand super, which, while powerful, requires you to forgo weapon usage.

To balance the increased base damage of Thundercrash, the combinations with Star-Eater Scales and Cuirass of the Fallen Star have been toned down, bringing the overall damage bonuses down to 50% with Star-Eater Scales and 55% with the Cuirass.

Furthermore, the Cuirass received additional tweaks, now granting a 7-second damage resistance bonus of 50% after landing a Thundercrash. The Glorious Charge intrinsic trait now provides extra super energy for melee final blows, but only when you’re amplified. Fortunately, we can maintain our amplified buff almost indefinitely.

While amplified, we gain increased mobility, a speed boost while running, a 15% damage resistance bonus during this speed boost, enhanced slide distance, and improved weapon handling. Each melee final blow generates around 2 to 4% bonus super energy from defeated targets.

With the increase in overall damage and the extended uptime, the combination of Cuirass and Thundercrash is more formidable than ever, making it an exceptional build during Revenant.

So, how do we optimize this combination? Let’s discuss.

For our prismatic aspects, we’re utilizing a mix of Knockout and Consecration, which have become standard. Knockout now offers consistent health regeneration when defeating enemies with powered or unpowered melees. Each melee defeat triggers the amplified buff, allowing us to capitalize on bonus super energy.

While I’ve tried using Diamond Lance and Shiver Strike recently—especially with the synergy from the Crystalline Converter artifact mod that enhances Stasis melee damage—nothing compares to the advantages provided by Consecration paired with Frenzied Blades. We can achieve up to three Consecrations, each capable of disintegrating an entire room of enemies. Until it gets nerfed, there’s no reason to stray from this potent combination.

For our grenade choice, we opt for Glacier Grenades, which offer crucial benefits. They create a wall of ice that blocks line of sight, serving as a makeshift barricade while reviving teammates or transitioning across the battlefield. Enemies caught near the Glacier Grenade will freeze, and when the Stasis wall shatters, nearby foes will take damage.

Using the Hail the Storm artifact mod, shattering enemies and crystals results in larger detonations, dealing additional damage. Shattering crystals also releases tiny ice shards that slow nearby enemies, harmonizing well with the Conductive Cosmic Crystal artifact mod, which boosts Arc and Void abilities by 5%, increasing to 8% with the corresponding tonic.

This pairs nicely with the Facet of Courage fragment, granting our light-based abilities a 10% damage increase against enemies affected by Darkness debuffs. By applying slow or freeze effects before executing a Thundercrash, we can achieve up to an 18% damage increase.

Equipped with the Facet of Dawn, we gain Radiance when striking enemies with powered melee abilities, allowing our weapons to deal 25% bonus damage. Any weapon not designated for Unstoppable or Overload champions can pierce Barrier champion shields, stacking with a 17% weapon damage boost from our Weapon Surge mods.

We also have the Facet of Protection, which provides a 15% damage resistance bonus when surrounded by enemies. When activating our Transcendence, this bonus increases to 32%, significantly enhancing our survivability.

To maintain our amplified bonus, we’re using the Facet of Purpose, which grants amplification upon collecting orbs of power. The Facet of Awakening increases the uptime of grenade, melee, and class ability energies, generating elemental pickups that result in Stasis Shards, Firesprites, and Ionic Traces.

Firesprites provide a 10% bonus grenade energy, Stasis Shards yield melee energy, and Ionic Traces offer around 12% bonus energy to all three abilities. With the Trace Evidence artifact mod, we generate bonus Ionic Traces when landing rapid final blows against jolted or blinded enemies.

The only ability to cause Jolt is through our Transcendent Grenade, but we can enhance this with weapons featuring Voltshot or Jolting Feedback for a more reliable source of ability energy. One standout weapon is the new VS Pyroelectric Propellant auto rifle from the Vespers Host dungeon. Alternatives include Hullabaloo, Indebted Kindness, and Vantage Point pulse rifles.

We’re using the Debilitating Wave artifact mod, which triggers blinding effects when performing finishers, creating an arc energy wave that travels forward like a wave-frame grenade launcher. Additionally, the Concussive Reload mod for grenade launchers applies a 15% weakening debuff against high-ranking enemies, boosting the damage of our weapons, abilities, and Thundercrash.

With class tree and artifact mods covered, let’s delve into our weapon selections. We have compelling reasons to utilize grenade launchers and Stasis weapons with Chill Clip, Headstone, or Coldsteel. The Lingered Dread or Liturgy are fantastic choices for these debuffs. Alternatively, the Lost Signal grenade launcher or Riptide fusion rifle are strong recommendations.

For exotic weapons, Riskrunner is a favorite for its overshield against incoming Arc damage, though it’s less effective without such damage. In that case, the Ergo Sum with Arc Conductor or Trinity Ghoul is a solid choice. However, for maximum damage output, the only two sensible options are Thunderlord and Grand Overture, both formidable against the Vespers Host dungeon boss and others.

If you need to include a legendary heavy weapon, I recommend the VS Chill Inhibitor or Edge Transit grenade launchers. Both offer Bait and Switch, significantly amplifying our damage potential. Pairing this with the Kinetic Impact artifact mod can trigger Kinetic Tremors, further boosting their damage output.

Now, let’s shift gears to our armor and armor mods to complement our build. Prioritizing Resilience and Strength is essential, as this can yield up to a 30% reduction in incoming damage. With tier 10 Strength, we minimize our melee cooldowns. While investing in Intellect is beneficial, diminishing returns set in at higher tiers, so aiming for around 30 Intellect is optimal.

One of the key armor mods in our setup is Hands-On, which grants bonus super energy when defeating enemies with melee abilities, stacking with the energy bonus from the Cuirass to recharge Thundercrash more quickly.

As mentioned earlier, we’re using Weapon Surge mods, supported by Heavy Handed, Harmonic Siphon, and Reaper mods to generate Orbs of Power. These orbs expedite our super energy recovery and maintain armor charges, allowing us to sustain the 17% weapon damage bonus.

To enhance our survivability, we’ve equipped the Recuperation boots mod, providing 70 health points upon collecting an Orb of Power.

With this comprehensive guide to building around the Prismatic Cuirass in Revenant, we’ve outlined one of the most powerful Titan builds, excelling at delivering maximum damage. If you’re a new or returning player seeking a top-tier build for the new dungeon or any endgame activities, look no further than the Prismatic Titan with the Cuirass of the Fallen Star.
