Build Details
The ultimate Arc Hunter build is back, and it's dominating the battlefield in Revenant.
With the latest update, Bungie has introduced new Artifact mods that synergize perfectly with the Liars Handshake exotic gauntlets. This exotic provides Arc Hunters with a fantastic option for prismatic builds, offering huge benefits like Radiance and Transcendence—making it tough to go back to older, traditional builds.
Thanks to these new Artifact mods and key changes to roaming supers, we’re going to revisit the incredible power of the Liars Handshake with the Arcstrider subclass.
By pairing the Liars Handshake with the Arc subclass, we boost synergy with Arc affinities like Blind and Jolt, which are especially potent in Revenant. With the Arc Compounding Artifact mod, any Arc damage against blinded enemies now deals a 15% damage boost. This becomes a massive advantage since the Liars Handshake causes enemies to Jolt and Blind when using the Lethal Current and Combination Blow abilities.
For those unfamiliar, the Liars Handshake has an intrinsic Cross Counter trait. After receiving or landing melee damage with a powered melee, you trigger a 3-second buff. While active, you gain a 200% increase in melee damage and regenerate health with each melee hit during this time. In addition to other damage bonuses, this allows the Liars Handshake to delete both high-value targets and large groups of enemies with ease.
This build is perfect for tearing through enemies, even in endgame content—just take a look at how we handled two high-level Barrier Knights. But what’s the best way to build around the Liars Handshake with an Arc subclass? Let’s dive into that.
For our Aspects, we use Flow State and Lethal Current, paired with Combination Blow and Gamblers Dodge as our melee and class abilities. Flow State amplifies us after defeating jolted enemies, giving us a 200% boost to class ability regeneration. This ensures we can dodge frequently, instantly recharging our powered melee.
Lethal Current causes jolted enemies to be blinded after a melee hit, and after dodging, our next melee attack applies Jolt and a small area-of-effect energy blast. By dodging before striking, we activate both Flow State and Lethal Current. After hitting the target with our first melee, Cross Counter activates, boosting the next melee’s damage by 200%. Then Combination Blow kicks in, stacking melee damage by defeating enemies with melee hits, significantly enhancing the Liars Handshake’s effectiveness.
Each stack starts at a 60% increase, jumps to 156% with two stacks, and reaches a 309% bonus at maximum stacks. Thanks to Arc Compounding, when enemies are blinded, they take an extra 15% damage, stacking with all the other bonuses.
With each final blow from a melee, we fully recharge our class ability energy, allowing us to keep spreading Jolt and Blind while boosting our melee damage. For further blinding, we use Flashbang Grenades, which work great against red-bar enemies and champions, though they don’t trigger Arc Compounding against bosses.
One key benefit of Lethal Current is its effect on Arc Staff. When active, Arc Staff light attacks deal two instances of damage instead of one. Since Arc Staff also gets a damage boost against Champions and has improved uptime, it's a strong super choice for this build.
As for Fragments, we go with Spark of Feedback, boosting our next melee after taking melee damage. Normally, this adds a 75% damage boost, but with the Liars Handshake, it’s closer to 50%. Spark of Resistance grants us a 25% damage resistance when surrounded by three or more enemies, and Spark of Flow State gives us 66% damage resistance when dodging. Arc Staff provides 90% resistance when active, so we’ve got plenty of ways to reduce incoming damage.
Spark of Ions boosts our ability uptime by creating Ionic Traces when defeating jolted enemies, providing energy for class abilities, melee, and grenades. Finally, Spark of Brilliance ensures that precision kills on blinded enemies create a blinding explosion, spreading blindness to nearby targets. Spark of Beacons could also trigger blindness with precision final blows from Arc special or heavy weapons, keeping enemies constantly under Jolt and Blind effects, maintaining that 15% bonus damage from Arc Compounding.
Now let’s look at the Artifact mods. We’ve equipped Concussive Reload, which weakens high-value targets hit by a grenade launcher, applying a 15% debuff. This lets us deal even more damage by blinding and weakening the same enemies. Power from Pain gives us Devour after rapidly defeating 2–3 weakened enemies, restoring health and granting grenade energy. Since our only form of health recovery is through melees, Devour provides much-needed sustain. The Buried Bloodline exotic is also a great option for triggering Devour.
We also use Trace Evidence to generate Ionic Traces when defeating jolted or blinded enemies, providing a double dose of energy. Debilitating Wave triggers a blinding wave with finishers, further enabling our ability to keep enemies under constant stress with Jolt and Blind effects while maximizing our damage bonuses.
As for weapons, shotgun synergy is crucial, especially for handling Barrier Champions. Shotguns like One-Two Punch or Trench Barrel work great to boost melee damage. One-Two Punch increases melee damage but is reduced to a 40% bonus with Liars Handshake. Trench Barrel increases the damage of the next three shots after a melee hit. The Perfect Paradox shotgun synergizes well, as its Origin trait refills a portion of the magazine after a powered or unpowered melee. Arc weapons with Voltshot or Jolting feedback further amplify synergy.
Now, for armor. The key stat to focus on is Resilience, aiming for tier 10 to reduce incoming damage by 30%. After that, focus on Mobility to lower the cooldown of our dodge, allowing more frequent activation of Lethal Current and Combination Blow.
We’ll also prioritize generating orbs to maintain Weapon Surge mods, which provide a 17% bonus to weapon damage. Mods like Harmonic Siphon, Heavy Handed, and Reaper will help us create plenty of orbs, and Recuperation Boots will heal us with each orb picked up, providing a second or third source of health recovery.
When everything comes together, you're looking at an incredibly powerful Arcstrider build that will shred enemies at all levels of difficulty.

Step 2: Use GL on High Value Target to Weaken Step 3: Use Gambler's Dodge Near Enemies to Activate Lethal Current Step 4: Strike Enemies with Melee to Jolt Step 5: Strike Jolted enemies with another Melee to Blind Step 6: Dodge to Regain Melee Energy Step 7: Use Shotgun (One Two Punch) on close range enemies. Step 8: When One-Two Punch is Active use Melee Step 9: Use Abilities as available. Step 10: If Low on Health... MELEE! Step 11: Cast Super on High Value Targets/ Dense Waves of Enemies
