DeadlockDeadlock Ivy Guide and Overview

In this Deadlock Ivy guide, you’ll learn the fundamentals of her abilities, unique play styles, and fundamental tips.

Deadlock Ivy Overview

Ivy is one of the most versatile heroes in Deadlock with a wide range of playstyles.

Want to build her as a DPS? Support? Splitpush roamer? You can!

She can also fly and even pick up an ally and drop them like a bomb. Overall, Ivy provides a ton of unique value that many heroes cannot.

Deadlock Ivy Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Highly mobile with the ability to fly and the only character with 4 Stamina (base).

  • Effective whether working alone or with allies.

  • Can be tough to kill due to escapability, healing, and stone form.

Weaknesses

  • Anti-healing counter items.

  • Stone Form has a long cooldown, so she has to choose her spots wisely.

  • Needs to coordinate with allies to maximize her ult usage.

Tips for Watcher's Covenant

  • Remember that you can switch your tether targets at any time, so always have it attached but look to switch to better targets when they arrive to the battle.

Tips for Stone Form

  • You’ll often want to use Echo Shard for maximized up-time on your Watcher's Covenant but it can be very strong when used with Stone Form, whether for more CC or to help you survive until help arrives.

Air Drop (4)

Take Flight with an Ally or a bomb. Drop your ally or bomb to cause a large explosion that causes movement slow. Ivy and ally gain a bullet shield when flying ends. Maxing Air Drop turns you into an aerial terror through more debuffs and survivability for yourself plus the ally you’re carrying.

Tips for Air Drop

  • This might be obvious for some people, but you can carry an ally carrying the Soul Urn to help them cash in faster.

  • If you're able to do the timing, you can even fly the urn yourself. It does take some practice though.

How to Counter Ivy

  • Ivy has a weak laning phase, so try to bully her in the early game.

  • Remember that it's slower for her to ult herself than when she ults an ally, so you have a longer window to punish if she's alone.

  • Be extra vigilant playing around Spirit Urn as Ivy can ult her ally who's carrying it.

  • Her Tether grants healing to allies, so make sure your team has Healing Reduction.
