Path of Exile 2 Release Date

Originally, the Path of Exile 2 Beta was slated to release on June 7th. In a recent announcement, GGG said that the beta has now been delayed. There is no confirmed release date, but they’re hoping for late 2024.

The Beta will be a semi closed beta with keys given out to players over time. This will then continue to run until the official release likely sometime in 2025.

How to Get Access to PoE 2 Beta

It has been confirmed that access to PoE 2’s beta will very closely mirror the beta they have done in the past. You can read details on PoE’s previous 3.0.0 update in their FaQ.

If you don’t want to read through, here’s a summary of what they plan to do for the beta.

  • New Supporter packs will be available upon release of the beta. All tiers will grant access/key.
  • Any player that has purchsed a top tier supporter pack in the past will get a key.
  • If a player has made lifetime purchases amounting to over $500, they will get a key.
  • Every day, a random group of players (500-1000ish) will get a key.

It’s possible that the PoE 2 beta won’t follow these bullets precisely, but it likely will be close. You’ll be able to pay for access through supporter packs or may already be eligible based on your past purchases.

If you aren’t able to spend money to gain access, you can always simply wait for a random invite. There may be more ways to gain access through things like Twitch drops or giveaways, but that has yet to be revealed.

Path of Exile 2 Story

Now that we know the expected release date, let’s cover everything we know currently about Path of Exile 2. If you want to stay up to date on new videos on PoE 2, you can check out the dedicated page for PoE 2.

Two Separate Games

Firstly, Path of Exile 2 was originally announced to be a new campaign sequel to the game, with both games reaching the same endgame. However, recent news has revealed that PoE 2 will essentially be a separate game.

There will be a new campaign, a new endgame system, new classes, skills, bosses, and more.

However, the microtransactions you have purchased in PoE will still carry over to PoE 2. Similarly, any microtransactions you purchase in PoE 2 will also be available in PoE. This way, you don’t have to worry about which game to spend on, or losing any purchases made in the past.

Summary of New Additions

Path of Exile 2 will have a “six act campaign, 100 distinct environments, 600 monsters, and 100 endgame bosses.” Furthermore, a lot of the systems we’ve come to know are being overhauled to the extreme.

Classes and Ascendancies

Path of Exile 2 Classes

There will be 12 different character classes, one for every combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. Each of the classes will have 3 Ascendancies to choose from, totaling 36 Ascendancies. The Scion is no longer playable in PoE 2.
