Today I’m going to go over the new Ionia card for today’s reveal!

This is the last reveal before the new cards eventually go live this Wednesday, July 14th.

Here is the new Ionia LoR Card from The Ruination vs Sentinels of Light Event:

Scattered Pod

• Scattered Pod 
  • 6 mana 5|6 follower, Attune
  • Text: Play: Draw a Slow, Fast, or Burst spell. Enlightened: I have Elusive.

This is an extremely unique unit that has a beefy statline with Attune that allows you to search a spell to your hand. Scattered Pod is 6 mana 5|6 with Attune that when played lets you pick the speed of Slow, Fast, or Burst Spell, and then a random spell of the chosen speed is added from your deck to your hand.

One of the first applications of this card would be to add it into Ezreal Karma. Ezreal Karma is doing great right now in the meta due to the potency of Eye of the Dragon, Will of Ionia going to 4 mana, and Karma being buffed.

This card can be added to have a blocker to hold down the field while you try to make it to turn 10 for Karma, while also holding down the field at the same time.

One interesting thing to note about Ezreal Karma with this card is that Thermogenic Beam is your only Slow Spell, so if you choose Slow as the speed type for Scattered Pod you are guaranteed to draw Thermogenic Beam for removal.

Another way you can use this card in a deck is by building your deck around having only 1 card of a certain speed in your deck so you are guaranteed to draw it.

An example of this would be running 3 Harrowing as your only Slow Speed cards or 3 Glorious Evolution.

This would allow you to more reliably reach your win cons or the spells that you build your deck around.

The most practical application of this card is by putting it in Ezreal Karma because of its well-rounded stat line and versatility to search different spells. This card also gains Elusive when it’s Enlightened which you reliably aim to do in Ezreal Karma.
