LoR Deck Guide: Catalogue of Pranks

How to Play Catalogue of Pranks (Meme Deck)

It’s Silverfuse with another fun deck to play! As a lot of people love hand-hate and mill decks, this deck has Hand Hate in it but differently than we typically see!

This deck features Catalogue of Regrets with Shellfolk and Pranks plus Tricksy Tentacles to mess with your opponent’s hand over and over again!

Previously, this deck also had Aloof Travelers in it, but since the nerf of the card, it might be a bit too slow for the deck. However, you can still add it to the deck if you wish!

Goal of Deck

This deck uses one of my favorite landmarks, Catalogue of Regrets to clone spells. Ideally, it clones Pranks and Tricksy Tentacles to mess with your opponent’s hand.

It also has the side win condition of cloning Go Hard to get Pack Your Bags faster. Senna even leaves the potential for Go Hards and Pack Your Bags to be played at Fast speed!

This is a heavy control deck that looks to outvalue your opponent through Shellfolk Pranks.

Here is a video showcasing the amount of hand hate that this deck can create:

Set-Up

This deck has multiple low-tempo plays that can be pretty punishing. For example Catalogue of Pranks is fairly low tempo as a 4 mana landmark that doesn’t impact the board when it is played.

The best way to make up for this tempo is to play Catalogue of Regrets with Go Hard or another cheap spell so that you get the Fleeting card next round.

This allows you to start getting value out of the card as soon as possible rather than delaying it.

Shellfolk is another slow card that the deck prefers to have played, but it doesn’t necessarily need it to be successful.

However, Shellfolk and cards that give choices such as Pranks or Trinket Trade make it easier for Shellfolk can get value as quickly as possible since Shellfolk might be removed.

This also means that saving Pranks for Shellfolk is a good idea.

Mulligan

Elise is always a keep as it is one of the strongest two drops in the game. It is strong against proactive aggro decks and reactive control decks.

Against control decks, holding onto Catalogue of Regrets is huge against control decks as it gives you the value to beat them.

Shellfolk is also a keep against most control decks along with Prank cards to slow them down.

Against aggressive lists, keeping Vile Feast and Hapless are ideal to stop your aggressive opponents. Otterpus and Withering Wail are also potential keeps too.

Keeping Go Hard against aggressive decks is also good.

Hand Hate (LOR Mulligan)
Against an aggressive deck, you’d keep Elise and Vile Feast. If you were against a control deck, you’d keep Elise and Curious Shellfolk.

Matchups

This deck tends to do better against aggressive decks as it has Shadow Isles that allow for it to deal with proactive decks with ease.

Against control decks, it can do pretty well too due to its value tools.

It struggles against combo decks such as Lee Sin that can kill you without worrying about the value your deck has.

Overall, none of the matchups are fantastic and you have to let Go Hard and Shadow Isles removal carry your deck with hopes that you get to do the fun things afterward.

Tech Choices

Minimorph: Additional removal and can help against combo decks.

Minimorph (LoR card)
Aloof Travelers: For extra hand hate.

Commander Ledros: When you need more finishing power.

The Box: Another removal option.

The Box (LoR Card)

This was one of the first decks I played with the Beyond the Bandlewood expansion and I have since made a few updates to it which is the current list posted on this article.

It’s a silly deck that can do some hilarious things. I hope you enjoyed the article and give the deck a try!
