What are Prestige Skins in LoL
Prestige skins are unique and very rare skins in League of legends. Not every champion has a prestige skin, and they are only given to “popular” champions. Prestige skins are usually combined with gameplay passes, such as the Worlds Pass or Lunar Pass which is currently live (at the time of writing this article). However, you can also use Mythic Essence to unlock prestige skins too.
While not necessarily 100% true, most prestige skins have a variation of white and gold, so if you like those colour schemes, you might like these potential skins!
What are Mythic Skins in LoL
Mythic Skins are another form of rare skins in League of Legends; however, they are obtained mostly by using Mythic Essence to unlock these skins. Each skin has a different value depending on its age. You can buy mythic skins in the mythic shop.
Mythic skins are usually purple or a variation of purple. They are usually very similar to other skins, but just a different colour. Some champion skins are called “Hextech”, such as Hextech Swain. This is because mythic skins were previously called “Hextech”.
New Mythic Line (Crystalis Indomitus)
There is a new mythic line coming to League of Legends soon. The first champion on the list is Kha’Zix who will be receiving a skin in March. In June, Xerath will receive a skin, and finally Nautilus will get a new mythic skin in August.
Here’s a preview of the new Kha’Zix skin!
Upcoming Prestige Skins in 2024
There will be at least 4 new mythic skins coming out in 2024. To obtain any of these skins, you will need enough points via an events pass. An events pass can be purchased when a new event is out, and they usually cost around 2200 tokens. There isn’t a way you can earn these without investing RP into the event and buying the pass.
Here are the 4 champions that will be receiving prestige skins this year:
- Evelynn
- Kayle
- Yuumi
- Leona
There isn’t any announced dates for these events or these skins and there are no splashes yet either, but they will also be purchased with event tokens.
Honestly, I am surprised that Yuumi and Leona are getting skins. It was already announced that Eve and Kayle would be getting skins previously, but I don’t see why Yuumi would be getting one. Her play rate isn’t very high and she isn’t that strong right now. Maybe we will see Yuumi buffs in the future?
New Mythic Shop Rotation
Riot often changes what skins are available for “purchase” in the mythic shop. To find out where to buy these skins, head to the loot tab and look for Mythic Essence. You can purchase any of these skins from there if you have enough Mythic Essence. The most effective way to earn Mythic Essence is by getting it in event passes.
