Best Champion Synergy with Naafiri in League of Legends

Naafiri is now on the live servers after a 3 week period on the PBE. Now that she is out and we’ve had more opportunities to play her, we’ve created a list of 5 champions that work well with Naafiri.

Many champions work well with Naafiri, but in an ideal scenario, you’ll have champions that can go in with her so she doesn’t get blown up and focused by the whole enemy team as soon as she dashes in. This is why champions with AOE abilities, tanks with CC and champions that can follow up are good with Naafiri.

5 Champions Who Synergise Well With Naafiri in League of Legends

1. Amumu
2. Leona
3. Nocturne
4. Jarvan IV
5. Maokai

1. Amumu

Amumu is the first champion on our list. One reason for why he is good with Naafiri is because he can go in with her and soak up a lot of damage. He will be building AP/off-tank, which is ideal as he can take the damage while she deals damage.

His flexibility is also another reason why the two are so good together. If Naafiri is played in the mid-lane, Amumu can be picked up as a Support or Jungler and constantly gank her lane post 6 so they can get kills. He just needs to press Q, then R, and she will deal a lot of damage.

Amumu’s large AOE Ultimate will do wonders in team fights at locking targets down. As he will need to go in to team fight, the two of them can go in together, and he will soak up incoming damage while she dishes out damage to the targets. This, in turn, increases her team’s chances of winning the game.

2. Leona

So Naafiri can be played in multiple roles: the jungle and mid-lane, depending on your preference. Regardless of your role, Leona can always be picked up by your teammates as she is a Support.

She has excellent roaming potential and gank set-up. This means she can roam and help you if you’re in the mid-lane, or she can set up ganks for you with her Ultimate when you try to gank the bottom lane.

Leona is a tank, and as she has to go deep in team fights, she will always be there to soak up damage for you, and as she has so much CC, she can keep enemies locked down, which will help you dish out damage and keep you alive.

3. Nocturne

Nocturne isn’t played as much anymore, but he can be a really good pairing with Naafiri because they love to commit to fights with their Ultimates. You can Ult fast, or he can use his first, and then the both of you go in together.

One problem for assassins as a whole is that they get focused first. But as you’re both assassins, you’ll both be targetted, which means you will survive for longer and deal additional damage to the targets. You both deal a lot of damage, so at least 1 of you will likely survive the fight.

Escaping Naafiri’s all-ins can be challenging, but by pairing that with another assassin- the enemy is dead. Nocturne has great ganks with his Ultimate, so keep the minion wave closer to your side of the map, and both of you will get kill after kill.

4. Jarvan IV

Jarvan IV is good at ganking early on. It is not uncommon for him to gank from level 3 and consistently sit laners. If you can keep the wave closer to your side of the map, you can quickly get him to gank you.

Due to his Ultimate locking enemies down, you can abuse this synergy to damage every enemy while locked in his Ultimate. Furthermore, as he will need to go in to deal damage, he will easily be able to soak damage for you to keep you alive.

Let’s not forget that Jarvan has excellent 1v1 potential, and as you’re a great roamer, the two of you can invade the enemy’s jungle and fight them. Or you can have priority to roam and help him if he’s fighting 1v1 or if he wants to gank a side lane so you can make it 3v1 or 4v2, respectively.

5. Maokai

The final champion on our list is Maokai, who can be played in multiple roles like Amumu. This is ideal for her as there can be a higher chance someone on your team picks him when you’re playing mid-lane Naafiri.

If he is played in the jungle, he will have good early ganks, which will usually result in a kill for you. His point-and-click CC is handy at ganking enemies, so you just need to go in when he shows up in your lane.

Like the other champions on our list, he will go deep with you in team fights! This relieves some pressure from you and will keep you alive for longer. Don’t forget that he will also build tank regardless if he is played in the top, jungle or support role: so he will be able to soak a lot of damage for you.
