The Dahlia: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More

The Dahlia is a Fire Nihility character with an emphasis on helping the Super Break archetype. Similar to Fugue, The Dahlia is an extremely pivotal character for Super Break teams, vastly elevating the performance of units that rely on this mechanic to deal damage to modern standards.

HSR The Dahlia Release Date

The Dahlia’s banner will be in the first third of Version 3.8, releasing on December 16, 2025, and will run until January 7, 2026.

The Dahlia HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

“Dance Partner”, Talent and Ultimate

The Dahlia’s primary support comes from her unique “Dance Partner” buff. Upon entering combat, The Dahlia will regenerate 35 Energy for herself and grant “Dance Partner” to the teammate that triggers the battle. If there is no unit on the field with Dance Partner, The Dahlia will grant this instead to an ally with the highest Break Effect. The Dance Partner will deal one instance of Super Break Damage at 60% when attacking an enemy that is already Weakness Broken. Furthermore, when the Dance Partner attacks an enemy, the Dahlia will launch a Follow-up Attack on a random enemy.

This effect can only be triggered once per The Dahlia’s turn, and this attack will also trigger a Super Break Damage instance at 200% when attacking a Weakness Broken enemy. Due to her second major trace – Lament, Lost Soul, when The Dahlia triggers her Follow-up Attack from her Talent, she will recover 1 Skill Point to the team, with a trigger cooldown of once every 2 Follow-up Attacks.

The Dahlia’s Ultimate – Wallow…Enbombed Ash is an AoE attack that inflicts a unique debuff called “Wilt” to all enemies before dealing damage. This attack will reduce the enemies’ Defense by 18% and implant the Weaknesses of the Dance Partner’s types to all of them.

Skill and Other Major Traces

The Dahlia’s Skill – Lick… Enkindled Betrayal is no less important to her functionality. Upon use, this will deploy a Zone for 3 turns, which ticks down its duration by 1 at the start of The Dahlia’s turn, so she will only need to recast once every 3 turns. Then, she will deal damage equal to 160% of her Attack to one enemy and its adjacent target. While this zone is active, all allies’ Weakness Break Efficiency is increased by 50%, and all Toughness Damage inflict by allies will deal Super Break Damage even when the enemies are not weakness broken. The Break team generally has a massive weakness in that they cannot deal meaningful damage when enemies are not weakness broken, so this is a massive quality of life and overall damage increase to the archetype.

The Dahlia can automatically deploy this zone at the start of the battle by using her Technique – The Heart Makes the Finest Tomb, which creates a Special Dimension that makes all enemies within it unable to attack the player in the overworld. The Technique also converts the damage instance that triggers the combat into a Super Break damage instance at 60% against enemies.

Her first major trace – Yet Another Funeral increases other characters’ Break Effect by 24% of The Dahlia’s Break Effect, plus 50% for 1 turn when entering combat. The Dahlia can trigger this effect when she receives a shield or healing effect from an ally, and if triggered this way, the effect will last for 3 turns, but cannot be triggered repeatedly within a single turn.

Her last major trace – Outgrow the Old, Espouse the New increases her Speed by 30% for 2 turns when an ally implants a Weakness to an enemy target. If said ally is a Fire character, she will deal a fixed 20 Toughness Damage after the attack for every target that is Weakness implanted. The Fire ally character will also receive 10% of their max energy, capped at 50% of their max energy. It is quite obvious that this trace is targeted at Firefly, solving her massive Energy issue when she exits her Combustion-state.

Gameplay Evaluation

The Dahlia is a pretty massive improvement over the previous Break Support with Weakness Break Efficiency, which was Ruan Mei. Not only she provides this extremely rare and pivotal buff for the Break team, she also grants teamwide Break Effect increase and Def Shred, generates Skill Point for a very Skill Point hungry archetype, implants Weakness, deal massive Toughness Damage and Super Break Damage on her own, and most uniquely, allows the team to deal Super Break damage without actually breaking the enemies. For Firefly specifically, The Dahlia massively smoothed out her operational issues, resulting in 0 downtime between transformations.

The Dahlia is also exceptionally simple to play and build, like most Break units are in general. Her kit practically plays itself, meaning there is no real optimization in terms of her gameplay beyond just getting better stats, which fit the more beginner-friendly theme that Super Break has been.

Overall, The Dahlia is a pretty tailor-made Break Support that this archetype has been desperately in need of since Fugue’s release. The overall improvement that she gives will vary depending on the character she supports, but it is hard to understate just how much she does for them.

The Dahlia HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack - Fiddle... Fissured Memory

Basic Attack – Fiddle… Fissured Memory: Deals Fire DMG equal to 100% of The Dahlia’s ATK to one designated enemy target.

Skill - Lick... Enkindled Betrayal

Skill – Lick… Enkindled Betrayal: Deploys a Zone that lasts for 3 turn(s), with the Zone’s duration decreasing by 1 at the start of The Dahlia’s turn. Then, deals Fire DMG equal to 160% of The Dahlia’s ATK to one designated enemy and their adjacent targets.

While the Zone is active, increases all allies’ Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%. Toughness Reduction taken by enemy targets while not Weakness Broken can be converted into Super Break DMG..

Ultimate - Wallow...Entombed Ash

Ultimate – Wallow…Entombed Ash: Inflicts “Wilt” state on all enemies, lasting for 4 turn(s). Then, deals Fire DMG equal to 300% of The Dahlia’s ATK, which is distributed across all enemies.

Reduces DEF of enemy targets in the “Wilt” state by 18% and applies Weakness of all “Dance Partners'” Types to enemy targets.

Talent - Who's Afraid of Constance

Talent – Who’s Afraid of Constance?: When entering combat, The Dahlia regenerates 35 Energy and grants “Dance Partner” to this unit and the teammate who triggered combat. Whenever there is no other “Dance Partner” on the field, grants “Dance Partners” to this unit and the teammate with the highest Break Effect. After a “Dance Partner” attacks a Weakness Broken enemy target, the Toughness Reduction from this attack is converted into 1 instance of Super Break DMG at 60%.

After an enemy target is attacked by the other “Dance Partner,” The Dahlia launches a Follow-Up ATK, dealing 5 instance(s) of DMG, each dealing Fire DMG equal to 30% of The Dahlia’s ATK to one random enemy. After each instance of DMG dealt to a Weakness Broken enemy target, the Toughness Reduction from this DMG is converted into 1 instance of Super Break DMG at 200%.

This effect can only trigger once per turn. If the target is defeated before the Follow-Up ATK is used, it will be launched at one random enemy instead.

Technique - The Heart Makes the Finest Tomb

Technique – The Heart Makes the Finest Tomb: After using Technique, creates a Special Dimension that lasts for 20 second(s). Enemies within this dimension will not actively attack ally targets. After entering combat with enemies in the Special Dimension, The Dahlia immediately deploys her Skill’s Zone, and converts the combat-triggering Toughness Reduction into 1 instance of Super Break DMG at 60% against enemy targets that are Weakness Broken.

The Dahlia HSR Traces

Yet Another Funeral

Yet Another Funeral: When entering combat, increases other characters’ Break Effect equal to 24% of The Dahlia’s Break Effect plus 50% for 1 turn(s). This effect triggers again lasting 3 turn(s) when The Dahlia receives healing or a Shield from a teammate, but cannot be triggered repeatedly within a single turn.

Lament, Lost Soul

Lament, Lost Soul: When using Talent’s Follow-Up ATK, recovers 1 Skill Point for allies. This effect can be triggered once for every 2 Talent’s Follow-Up ATKs used.

Outgrow the Old, Espouse the New

Outgrow the Old, Espouse the New: When an ally target adds Weakness to an enemy target, increases SPD by 30% for 2 turn(s). If an ally Fire character implants a Weakness when using an attack, deals 20 fixed amount of Fire Toughness Reduction after the attack for every target with Weakness implanted. Also, regenerates Energy equal to 10% of Max Energy. The maximum amount of Energy regenerated through this effect is capped at 50% of Max Energy.

The Dahlia HSR Eidolons

The Dahlia HSR Eidolons

  1. When a Bud Readies to Bloom: Applies Talent’s Super Break DMG multiplier provided to “Dance Partner” to all ally characters, with “Dance Partner” additionally receiving a 40% boost. After “Dance Partner” uses an attack, deals an additional fixed amount of Toughness Reduction equal to 25% of the enemy target’s Max Toughness (minimum of 10 points, up to 300 points). This effect can only trigger once per enemy target, and the trigger count for each target resets after the enemy target receives a killing blow.
  2. Fresh, Ethereal, and Beloved: When The Dahlia is on the field, decreases all enemies’ All-Type RES by 20%. When an enemy target enters the field, immediately inflicts “Wilt” state on them, lasting for 3 turn(s).
  3. Pity Its Petals Thin as Mist: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10
  4. Pity Its Heart Gnawed by Worms: Increases the instances of DMG dealt by Talent’s Follow-Up ATK by 5, and every hit increases the target’s DMG taken by 12%, lasting for 2 turn(s).
  5. Fallen, Decayed, and Despised: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
  6. And Yet, Always, Deathly Beautiful: Increases “Dance Partner’s” Break Effect by 150%. When using her Talent’s Follow-Up ATK, advances the next action of all “Dance Partners” by 20%.

Eidolon Priority

The Dahlia has quite a well-rounded set of Eidolons. While none of her early Eidolons are insanely overpowered like some recent offenders, both her E1 and E2 are very solid improvements to her Supportive capacity. It is worth noting that both her E1 and Signature Light Cone gives around the same amount of overall teamwide damage boost, so players can consider going for her E1 if they have good premium Light Cone options. If Skill Point usage is an issue, her Light Cone will be a better boost to the team operation than her E1, especially considering Light Cone is cheaper than Eidolon on average.

Her E1 is quite a strong quality of life upgrade, making the Super Break Damage multiplier from her Talent teamwide instead of just for her Dance Partner, with the Dance Partner receiving an additional 40% boost to the original value. Furthermore, the first time the “Dance Partner” uses an attack on an enemy, the Dahlia will deal an additional fixed amount of Toughness Reduction equal to 25% of the enemy target’s Max Toughness, with a cap of 300.

Her E2 is much simpler but not less powerful, decreasing all enemies’ All-Type Res by 20%, which translates to a general 25% – 33% damage boost depending on the enemies’ original All-Type Res. It will also automatically inflict Wilt on all enemies when they enter the field.

Her E4 is the weakest of her major Eidolon, giving a 12% Vulnerability debuff to the enemies when she deals damage with her talent follow-up attack, and also increasing its number of hits.

Her E6 is quite strong, but not to the level of some recent E6. It is essentially a built-in Dance Dance Dance Light Cone, advancing all allies’ actions by 20% whenever she uses her Ultimate. This Eidolon will also increase the Dance Partner’s Break Effect by 150%. Overall, a solid Eidolon, but not worth spending Stellar Jades for.

Premium Options

Never Forget Her Flame

Never Forget Her Flame: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60% / 75% / 90% / 105% / 120%. When entering combat, increases Break DMG dealt by the wearer and another teammate who triggered combat by 32% / 42% / 52% / 62% / 72%. If there is no teammate who triggered combat, applies this effect to the wearer and the teammate with the highest Break Effect. Effects of the same type cannot be stacked. When the wearer applies Weakness to an enemy target, recovers 1 Skill Point. This effect can only trigger once, and trigger count resets when using Ultimate.

The Dahlia’s Signature offers a massive boost in Break Effect for herself as well as one of her teammates. Furthermore, it lets him generate even more Skill Points to supplement heavy SP consumption Break Damage Dealers like Firefly or Boothill.

Never Forget Her Flame

Lies Dance on the Breeze: Increases the wearer’s SPD by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30%. After the wearer uses an attack, there is a 120% base chance to inflict the “Bamboozle” state on every enemy target. While under the “Bamboozle” state, enemy targets have their DEF decreased by 16% / 18% / 20% / 22% / 24% for 2 turn(s). If the wearer’s SPD is higher than or equal to 170, there is a 120% base chance to inflict the “Theft” state on every enemy target. While under the “Theft” state, enemy targets have their DEF decreased by 8% / 9% / 10% / 11% / 12% for 2 turn(s). When “Bamboozle” or “Theft” is repeatedly inflicted, only the most recently inflicted instance takes effect.

Cipher’s Light Cone is the premium version of Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat. Since the Dahlia has Def Shred in her base kit, this Light Cone is a fantastic option as it also grants her a very rare Speed buff.

Holiday Thermae Escapade

Holiday Thermae Escapade: Increases the wearer’s DMG dealt by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32%. After the wearer attacks, there is a 100% base chance that the attacked target is inflicted with Vulnerability, increasing the DMG they receive by 10% / 11.5% / 13% / 14.5% / 16% for 2 turn(s). The same effect type cannot be stacked.

A highly useful Light Cone from the Battle Pass for Nihility characters, giving a rare Vulnerability debuff.

Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat

Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat: When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already “Ensnared,” then there is a 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100% base chance to “Ensnare” the hit enemy. “Ensnared” enemies’ DEF decreases by 12% / 13% / 14% / 15% / 16% for 1 turn(s).

One of the best “cheap” options for The Dahlia as Break team scales well with Def Shred, and The Dahlia already has some in her base kit to makes this more valuable.

F2P Options

Solitary Healing

Solitary Healing: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases DoT dealt by the wearer by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%, lasting for 2 turn(s). When a target enemy suffering from DoT imposed by the wearer is defeated, regenerates 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 Energy for the wearer.

A pure statstick option for extra Break Effect.

HSR The Dahlia Main Stats

  • Body: HP / Effect Hit Rate%
  • Feet: Speed
  • Orb: HP%
  • Rope: Energy Regeneration Rate% / Break Effect%

Dahlia only scales off two stats in general: Speed and Break Effect. This does make picking the gears for her quite single-minded. For body piece, HP% for more survivability (especially when used in a sustainless Break team), or Effect Hit Rate if used either Holiday Thermae Escapade or  Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat, as those Light Cone’s debuff are not guaranteed on enemies with High Effect Res. For boot, Speed boot is a must to give her more actions. Orb is her least important piece; players can opt for a HP% for more survivability with good substats. For Rope, The Dahlia can run both Energy Regeneration Rate and Break Effect rope, with the former being better in sustainless while the latter being better if used with a healer or shielder to trigger her energy regeneration trace.

HSR The Dahlia Sub Stats

  • Speed
  • Break Effect

For substats, players should also look for as much Speed / Break Effect% as possible. The Dahlia does not have a specific break point in terms of stats to hit, since it varies from team to team as well, and different enemies’ layouts will affect how much Speed she wants to hit. A generally safe point is around 158-168 Speed to combine with different forms of Advance / Speed buff that the team can give in conjunction with her Speed trace.

HSR The Dahlia Relics

Option A

Item_Iron_Cavalry_Against_the_Scourge

Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge:

  • 2-Pc: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
  • 4-Pc: If the wearer’s Break Effect is 150% or higher, the Break DMG dealt to the enemy target ignores 10% of their DEF. If the wearer’s Break Effect is 250% or higher, the Super Break DMG dealt to the enemy target additionally ignores 15% of their DEF.

This set is best for most Break users since it massively increases their Super Break damage and pairs very well with The Dahlia’s Def Shred debuff.

Option B

Eagle of Twilight Line

Eagle of Twilight Line:

  • 2-Pc: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.
  • 4-Pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.

The Eagle set is quite potent on the Dahlia and can lower her Speed threshold considerably when built for fast clears.

HSR The Dahlia Planar Sets

Option A

Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern

Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern:

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s SPD by 6%. When the wearer hits an enemy target that has Fire Weakness, the wearer’s Break Effect increases by 40%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

The Kalpagni set gives her much-needed Speed to hit her threshold. As she is most often used against Fire-weak enemies with Firefly, the secondary effect will also be up often. It is not recommended to run this when supporting non-Fire Break Damage Dealers like Boothill or Rappa.

Option B

Sprightly Vonwacq

Sprightly Vonwacq:

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s action is Advanced Forward by 40% immediately upon entering battle.

A very good generic set for The Dahlia since it lets her “cheat” out an extra action with sufficient built with its advance effect. The extra Energy Regeneration Rate is also quite handy, especially when used with the Eagle set.

Option C

Talia Kingdom of Banditry

Talia: Kingdom of Banditry:

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 16%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer’s Break Effect increases by an extra 20%.

Talia is a good option for raw Break Effect%, as it gives the most amongst all planar sets.

HSR The Dahlia Teammates

The Dahlia is mandatory for most modern Super Break / Break teams, and as such, she has great synergy with all Break-related characters, although the improvement rate that she brings will vary from character to character.

Main DPS

Firefly: It can be said that The Dahlia is tailor-made to be a Firefly Support. She massively improves Firefly’s Damage and operation by allowing Firefly to have zero downtime between her Ultimate. Both of them also share elements and implant Fire weaknesses, and the improvement for Firefly is the largest amongst all Break Damage Dealers (around 2x – 2.5x from her previous level).

rappa

Rappa: Rappa is the other premier Super Break damage dealer that can make great use of The Dahlia. Rappa can take advantage of all of The Dahlia’s kit components very well, except her Fire character trait and will also enjoy a fantastic improvement rate.

boothill
Boothill: Of the three Super Break Damage Dealers, Boothill will experience the lowest amount of improvement from The Dahlia. This is mainly due to Boothill’s primary damage source not coming from Super Break but from breaking itself. Nonetheless, the Dahlia can still bring Def Shred, Break Efficiency, and Break Effect – all fantastic buffs that Boothill can take advantage of.

Himeko: Himeko benefits a lot from the team continuously breaking the enemies to trigger her follow-up attack, and she also has good Toughness Damage to be a Super Break damage dealer.

Harmony/Nihility

fugue
Fugue: Fugue and The Dahlia is basically THE modern duo of Super Break team. Both of them provide massive quality of life and numerical improvements to this archetype that lacking one of them would result in operational issues. Generally, it is only advisable that the players have both of them if they want to continue to use Super Break in the future.

Harmony Trailblazer / Ruan Mei
Harmony Trailblazer / Ruan Mei: Before Fugue and The Dahlia, HMC was the only one that could provide Super Break multiplier to teammates, while Ruan Mei was the Break Support with an extremely valuable Break Effect Efficiency and other various strong teamwide buffs. With The Dahlia and Fugue, both of these units have been relegated to either the 4th slots in a sustainless team, or placeholders until the players get better options.

Sustain

Lingsha and Gallagher.
Lingsha / Gallagher: Lingsha and Gallagher are both Fire Break-centric Healers that can help The Dahlia charge her Ultimate faster via her trace. Of the two, Lingsha is much more Skill Point-intensive, but has much better damage output and can even function as a main Super Break Damage Dealer, while Gallagher provides even more Skill Points and Energy to the team via Quid Pro Quo and Basic Attack spamming.

HSR The Dahlia Teams

The Dahlia’s team is quite monotonous, and there is not much variance. The Dahlia + Fugue + a primary Break Damage Dealer is the main mechanism. The last spot can either be a sustain like Lingsha or another Break support for sustainless run like Ruan Mei, Harmony Trailblazer or another Def Shred Support like Cipher or Silver Wolf.

Dahlia’s Premium Break Team

Dahlia’s Premium Break Team

HSR The Dahlia Pull Value and Conclusion

As far as Support for the Break archetype goes, The Dahlia is perfect and offers quite possibly one of the biggest glow-ups in the history of the game, solving much of the archetype’s innate issues and massively pumping up their damage output. The main problem with The Dahlia is that the Break team stood at a very low place in the meta, and she can only do so much. At the time of her release, she will bring them up somewhat to par with 3.x team (but still loses out to the top meta teams such as the Mono Remembrance team or hypercarries like Phainon, Anaxa, or Archer), much similar to how Hysilens improve the DoT team but not enough to reach the top.

For players who have already invested much into the Break archetype and want to use them in the future, The Dahlia is a must-pull. But for any players who do not want to play Break or don’t want to invest further, she is a very easy skip, especially as 3.8 is the last patch of the 3.x major cycle, and we are on the verge of a new region.
