Mydei is an Imaginary Destruction DPS that scales off of HP, the second one since Blade. He is a DPS that consumes his own HP and taunts enemies in order to gain Charges for his Enhanced Skill “Godslayer be God”, unleashing a powerful Blast attack. Mydei is also immortal in most cases, unless you purposely sabotage your gameplay. One thing that hasn’t been seen previously is that Mydei cannot be controlled while in combat for the majority, as if you are playing on auto.
Mydei is in a weird pickle, where he is definitely on-par with the latest DPS damage-wise, but doesn’t excel in any particular mode, and his off-hands gameplay is a turn-off for some people.

Mydei’s banner will be in the second half of Version 3.1 releasing on March 19th, 2025 and will run until April 8th, 2025.
Mydei HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)
Talent and Skill
Mydei gains 1 Charge for every 1% of his HP he loses. At 100 Charge, Mydei enters the “Vendetta” state and heals 25% of his HP. In the “Vendetta” state, Mydei’s max HP increases by 50% and his DEF becomes 0. This makes him squishier, but it’s intentional since the faster the Mydei loses HP, the quicker he gains Charge. In this state, when Mydei “dies”, he will revive at 50% of his HP but will lose his Charges.
Mydei has 3 Skills, but only the last two are relevant for the most part. Mydei’s Skills DO NOT use Skill Points, but instead consume HP or his Charge gain.
- Deaths are Legion, Regrets are None: Mydei consumes 50% HP and does 90% to primary and 50% to adjacent.
- Kingslayer be King: Mydei consumes 35% HP, does 110% to primary and 66% to adjacent
- Godslayer be God: Mydei consumes 150 Charge, does 280% to primary and 168% to adjacent.
Mydei’s first Skill is only used when he’s not in the “Vendetta” state, but in battle, you are almost always in “Vendetta” except for his first turn. While in “Vendetta”, Mydei uses Kingslayer whenever it’s his turn automatically, doing Blast damage. When Mydei gets 150 Charges, he gains an extra turn instantly and uses Godslayer automatically. This is Mydei’s primary damage source, and it does a lot of Blast damage. Mydei’s auto mechanic during Vendetta means that the player can’t control what target Mydei attacks, similar to the auto Curio in Simulated Universe.
Ultimate (160 Energy)
Mydei’s Ultimate heals 20% of his max HP, and accumulates 20 Charge for his Talent. Mydei also does 160% of his max HP to the primary target and 100% to adjacent targets (Blast). His Ultimate also taunts the targets for 2 turns, and his next “Godslayer be God” will target the primary enemy hit. Mydei’s Ultimate lets him get Charges faster due to his Taunt, as getting hit means he will lose more HP. His Ultimate is also one way to circumvent auto-targeting for one instance.
Traces and Technique
Mydei has some pretty crazy traces. Mydei’s first trace makes it so that he can “die” 3 times without exiting the “Vendetta” state. Without this trace, Mydei would need to re-enter “Vendetta” whenever he takes a killing blow. However this trace makes him pretty much immortal unless you purposely get killed 3 times to exit “Vendetta”, and then die again without re-entering “Vendetta” to gain another revive. Mydei’s second trace makes him immune to Crowd Control during “Vendetta”, such as Kafka’s dominate, or any type of stuns.
Mydei’s final trace is an immense stat booster that depends on how much Max HP he has. For every 100 HP over 4000, Mydei gets 1.2% CRIT Rate, 2.5% Charge Rate from enemy attacks, and 0.75% Healing Bonus. This caps out at an excess of 4000 HP, so Mydei really wants to hit 8000 HP to gain the full benefit. Mydei can get up to 48% CRIT Rate, 100% Charge ratio from enemy attacks, and 30% Extra Healing due to this trace.
The Charge Ratio refers to his HP to Charge conversion: a 100% ratio would mean that Mydei now gets 2 Charge for every 1% HP lost (This only applies to getting hit by enemies, not his Skills/Ultimate).
Mydei’s Technique pulls enemies and dazes them for 10 seconds, like a stun. Upon entering battle, dazed enemies DMG equal to 80% of Mydei’s Max HP, but more importantly gives Mydei 50 Charge of his talent. This lets Mydei enter “Vendetta” after using “Deaths are Legion, Regrets are None” on his first turn, or by getting hit enough before he takes a turn to get 100 Charge.
Closing Thoughts
Mydei’s gameplay loop boils down to trying to use “Godslayer be God” as much as possible, since that’s his most powerful ability. His Ultimate helps him with getting hit due to the built-in taunt and the targeting fix for one instance. Mydei is basically immortal under most situations, since despite having 0 DEF during “Vendetta” he has bulk from his HP to tank many hits, and has 3 “lives” due to his trace. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want a healer though, since his Skill consumes HP, and his Charge gain is directly proportional to how much HP he loses. Using his Skill when the consumed HP needed is insufficient will not kill Mydei but instead put him at 1 HP, which is the potential loss of Charges. Keeping him healthy with a healer, therefore, is ideal.
Mydei HSR Core Skills
Basic Attack – Vow of Voyage: Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 50% of Mydei’s Max HP to one designated enemy.
Skill – Deaths are Legion, Regrets are None: Consumes HP by an amount equal to 50% of Mydei’s current HP. Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 90% of Mydei’s Max HP to one designated enemy and Imaginary DMG equal to50% of Mydei’s Max HP to adjacent targets. If the current HP is not sufficient, using Skill reduces Mydei’s current HP to 1.
Skill – Kingslayer Be King: Consumes HP by an amount equal to 35% of Mydei’s current HP. Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 110% of Mydei’s Max HP to one enemy and Imaginary DMG equal to 66% of Mydei’s Max HP to adjacent targets. If the current HP is not sufficient, using Skill reduces Mydei’s current HP to 1. This ability will be automatically used.
Skill – Godslayer Be God: Consumes 150 point(s) of Charge. Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 280% of Mydei’s Max HP to one enemy and Imaginary DMG equal to 168% of Mydei’s Max HP to adjacent targets. This ability will be automatically used. While this ability is in use, Charge cannot be accumulated.
Ultimate – Throne of Bones (160 Energy): Restores HP by 20% of Mydei’s Max HP and accumulates 20 Talent’s Charge point(s). Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 160% of Mydei’s Max HP to one designated enemy, and deals Imaginary DMG equal to 100% of Mydei’s Max HP to adjacent targets. Additionally, Taunts the target and targets adjacent to it, lasting for 2 turn(s). The next use of “Godslayer Be God” prioritizes attacking one designated enemy, and this effect only works on the latest target.
Talent – Blood for Blood: For each 1% of HP lost, accumulates 1 point of Charge (up to 200 points). When Charge reaches 100, consumes 100 points of Charge to enter the “Vendetta” state, restores HP equal to 25% of Mydei’s Max HP, and advances action by 100%. While the “Vendetta” state is active, Max HP increases by 50% of the current Max HP and DEF remains at 0. At the start of this unit’s turn, it automatically uses “Kingslayer Be King.”
When Charge reaches 150 points during the “Vendetta” state, Mydei immediately gains 1 extra turn and automatically uses “Godslayer Be God.”
When receiving a killing blow during the “Vendetta” state, Mydei will not be knocked down but will clear his Charge, exit the “Vendetta” state, and restore HP by 50% of his Max HP.
Technique – Cage of Broken Lance: After using Technique, pulls in enemies within a certain area and inflicts Daze on them for 10 seconds. Dazed enemies will not actively attack ally targets.
If actively attacking Dazed enemies, when entering battle, deals Imaginary DMG equal to 80% of Mydei’s Max HP to all enemies and Taunts the targets, lasting for 1 turn(s). This unit accumulates 50 point(s) of Talent’s Charge.
Mydei HSR Traces
Earth and Water: During the “Vendetta” state, Mydei will not exit the “Vendetta” state when receiving a killing blow. This effect can trigger 3 time(s) per battle.
Thirty Tyrants: While in the “Vendetta” state, Mydei is immune to Crowd Control debuffs.
Bloodied Chiton: When battle starts, if Mydei’s Max HP exceeds 4000, for every 100 excess HP, Mydei’s CRIT Rate increases by 1.2%, his Charge ratio from enemy targets’ DMG increases by 2.5%, and his Incoming Healing increases by 0.75%. Up to 4000 excess HP can be taken into account for this effect.
Mydei HSR Eidolons
Frost Hones Spine of Steel: The DMG Multiplier applied by “Godslayer be God” to the primary target increases by 30%. And “Godslayer be God” becomes Imaginary DMG to all enemies equal to the DMG multiplier applied to the primary target.
Strife Beholds Cry of Dead: During “Vendetta,” the DMG dealt by Mydei ignores 15% of enemy targets’ DEF. And when receiving healing, converts 40% of the healed amount to Charge. The tally of the converted Charge cannot exceed 40 point(s). Resets this tally of Charge after any unit takes action.
Honor Exalts Feast of Faith: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
Siren Jolts the Laconic Lion: While in “Vendetta,” increases CRIT DMG by 30% and restores HP by 10% of this unit’s Max HP after receiving attacks from enemy targets.
War Chisels Flesh of Flame: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Legacy Scales Mound of Blood: When entering battle, immediately enters the “Vendetta” state, and lowers the Charge required for “Godslayer Be God” to 100 point(s).
Eidolon Priority
Mydei’s Eidolons all unsurprisingly focus on increasing his damage output. His most notable one is E1, which makes his “Godslayer be God” in addition to increasing the multiplier by 30%, hits as a full AoE attack, making him better in modes like Pure Fiction, and since every enemy is hit, you no longer have to worry about the auto hitting the wrong target when using Godslayer. E2 gives 15% DEF reduction, and the healing he receives can be converted to Charge up to 40 points. Mydei doesn’t have any other sources of DEF reduction, so the efficiency isn’t the best; however the extra Charge gain will get him more Godslayers.
E4 gives 30% CRIT DMG and heals him for 10% of his Max HP whenever he gets attacked. In a vacuum this is decent but for the amount of pulls it’s not that amazing since Mydei is not really in need of more healing especially since he’s played with a healer.
E6 on the other hand is a really good Eidolon, since the Charge needed for Godslayer is reduced to 100. Mydei’s highest damage output comes from his Godslayer, so needing less Charge will let him cast it more frequently, thereby increasing his damage over time. One thing to note however is since Mydei enters “Vendetta” immediately upon entering battle, he will be on full auto, not even being able to manually cast his regular Skill.

Premium Options
Flame of Blood, Blaze My Path
Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30% and Incoming Healing by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% . When using Skill or Ultimate, consume HP equal to 6% / 6.5% / 7% / 7.5% / 8% of the wearer’s Max HP and increases the DMG dealt by this attack by 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50% . If this effect’s consumed HP is greater than 500, this attack’s DMG additionally increases by 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50%.
If the current HP is not sufficient, this effect reduces the wearer’s HP down to 1.
Mydei’s Signature is a massive boost for him, and synergizes perfectly with his kit, being one of the few HP Light Cones. On top of the 18% Max HP, the 6% HP drain when using Skill and Ultimate means Mydei will get more Charge than using other LCs, letting him get his Godslayer quicker. Mydei also gets a 60% DMG increase on his attacks when he consumes more than 500 HP. A conservative estimate of 8.33K HP is all he needs to consume greater than 500 HP factoring his 6% HP drain. This HP number is easily reached, as Mydei gets an extra 25% bonus HP when he’s in the “Vendetta” state, making the DMG increase uptime permanent.
The Unreachable Side
Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30% and increases their Max HP by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30% . When the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, their DMG increases by 24% / 28% / 32% / 36% / 40% . This effect is removed after the wearer uses an attack.
Blade’s Light Cone is a great stat stick, providing the same 18% Max HP increase, as well as 24% DMG increase when consuming HP. However, Mydei already has way too much CRIT Rate. Mydei’s trace gives him 48%, base character 5%, Scholar another 8%, and if you add in Sunday, that’s another 20%, totalling 81% CR. With Blade’s Signature, Mydei is at 99% CRIT Rate, without any CR substats. Suffice it to say, it is very easy to overlap CR with Blade’s Signature but it is still the 2nd best choice after his own Light Cone.
A Secret Vow
Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% . The wearer also deals an extra 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% of DMG to enemies whose current HP percentage is equal to or higher than the wearer’s current HP percentage.
Secret Vow at High Superimposition is a good option, as Mydei is always consuming his own HP to deal damage. Secret Vow gives 40% unconditional DMG boost, and an extra 40% when Mydei’s HP is lower than the enemy’s. The uptime is not consistent due to Mydei’s own healing and enemy’s HP, but is still a good 4-star LC option.
F2P Options
Ninja Record Sound Hunt
Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. When losing or restoring this unit’s HP, increases CRIT DMG by 18% / 22.5% / 27% / 31.5% / 36% , lasting for 2 turn(s). This effect can only trigger once per turn.
The Rappa event Light Cone gives 12% HP, which is good for Mydei, as well as 36% CRIT DMG when Mydei loses/gains HP with full uptime. Mydei is a bit saturated on CRIT DMG, but it is still a good F2P option.
Flames Afar
When the wearer’s cumulative HP loss during one attack exceeds 25% of their Max HP, or if the amount of their own HP consumed at one time is greater than 25% of their Max HP, immediately heals the wearer for 15% of their Max HP, and at the same time, increases the DMG they deal by 25% / 31.25% / 37.5% / 43.75% / 50% for 2 turn(s). This effect can only be triggered once every 3 turn(s).
The MoC shop lightcone is decent. The healing is nice, but Mydei is not in desperate need for that, not to mention that the 50% DMG increase only lasts for 2 turns. Mydei will wear out the buff when being played with an Action Advancer, and the LC will provide nothing when he’s out of turn other than being a stat stick.

HSR Mydei Sub Stats
- HP% (8000+)

Main Stats Goal & Speedtuning
Mydei’s foremost priority is hitting at least 8000 HP in the stat screen so that he can get the maximum benefit from his 3rd trace that gives 48% CRIT Rate, 2 Charge per 1% HP loss against enemy hits, and 30% Extra Healing. Not benefiting from these free stats is a huge loss to his damage, so focus on getting at least 8K HP.
Mydei can opt for a CRIT DMG Body if he has enough HP substats to hit the 8K threshold. This can be difficult if you don’t have his Signature or a LC that gives HP%. If this is the case an HP% Body is an option too.
For boots Mydei can go either Speed or HP, depending on the support he’s working with. Generally, speed is the go-to with characters like RMC/Sunday. Mydei’s damage and Charge speed is accelerated the more turns he gets. With Sunday, you want to tune him to be at least 1 speed faster so that you can run a -1 setup. A good target is 135 Speed. With a character like Sparkle, however, you can have him at default speed with HP boots and Sparkle at a high speed.
Mydei’s rope should be an HP% rope, no questions asked. Mydei’s Orb depends on how much HP you have. If you don’t have 8K HP in the stat screen, you should supplement that so you don’t lose out on the trace bonuses. On the other hand if you do have enough HP with Imaginary Orb, props to you.
Mydei requires careful distribution for his subs. Otherwise, he will overlap on the CRIT Rate. AT E0S1, Mydei with Scholar is already at 61% CR. Mydei’s should have as much HP subs as needed to hit 8000 HP, and thereafter he should chase CRIT DMG and/or Speed if he needs.
HSR Mydei Relics
Scholar Lost in Erudition
- 2-Pc: Increases CRIT Rate by 8%.
- 4-Pc: Increases DMG dealt by Skill and Ultimate by 20%. After using Ultimate, additionally increases the DMG dealt by the next Skill by 25%.
Mydei’s damage source is all from his Skill and Ultimate. In addition, Mydei often gets his Godslayer after using his Ultimate, due to the increased taunt and Charge it gives, letting him easily benefit from the extra DMG increase from the second passive.
Longevous Disciple
- 2-Pc: Increases Max HP by 12%
- 4-Pc: When the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally or themselves, their CRIT Rate increases by 8% for 2 turn(s)( and up to 2 stacks.
Longevous is a downgrade from Scholar for Mydei. Mydei already gets 48% CRIT Rate from his trace, and if he’s being run with RMC/Sunday, that’s an extra 10/20% CRIT Rate. Longevous gives 16% CRIT Rate, making it easy for Mydei to overcap with a few extra substats in CRIT Rate. Longevous may also give increased HP, but the increased DMG on Skill and Ultimate makes Scholar a much better choice.
HSR Mydei Planar Sets
Mydei’s planar options are restricted, as he cannot benefit from FUA, Break, or ATK focused planars, leaving him with these two options.
Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s Max HP is 5000 or higher, increases the wearer’s and their memosprite’s CRIT DMG by 28%.
Mydei will easily reach over 5000 HP to get the 28% CRIT DMG, on top of the default 12% increase in Max HP. Mydei does not have a memosprite, but this is his best option as an HP scaling DPS.
Rutilant Arena
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer’s CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, DMG dealt by Basic ATK and Skill increases by 20%.
A close secondary option for Mydei’s planar. Rutilant’s 70% CRIT Rate requirements are steep, but when factoring in his CR trace along with the 8% from Rutilant and Scholar, he is already sitting at 69% CRIT Rate without substats, actually being at risk of overcapping. Mydei does not use Basic ATKs, but he can benefit from the 20% DMG increase on Skill.
HSR Mydei Teammates
Mydei being an HP scaling DPS, is a rare unit that does not want Robin, since the massive Attack buff Robin gives is wasted on him. He is best played as a hypercarry, but duo DPS could come to play with future units. Mydei also needs a healer in his party to keep him healthy.
Main DPS
Possibly in the future….
Harmony/Nihility
Tribbie
Tribbie’s 24% RES PEN and 30% extra DMG within her Zone makes her one of Mydei’s best harmonies, due to her low maintenance and buffs all being beneficial for HP scaling DPSes, unlike say Robin, who is way more helpful for Attack scaling characters.
Sunday
Sunday is also another harmony that Mydei likes, as Sunday’s buff don’t discriminate whether you’re HP or Attack scaling. Sunday’s Ultimate giving Energy helps Mydei get his own Ultimate off more often, which in turn lets him be able to taunt enemies and get Charge more consistently. Sunday is an ideal support to run a -1 setup with, quickly letting Mydei get multiple Skills off due to his 100% Action Advance. Sunday can also use the Penacony planar, as they share the same element.
Sparkle
Sparkle also works with Mydei, as her buffs last even when it’s not his turn unlike Bronya. Sparkle may have been outclassed by both Sunday and RMC in other teams, but Sparkle can let Mydei run HP boots and play a wheelchair setup with a fast Sparkle (160) if Mydei cannot reach 8000 HP with Speed boots.
Remembrance Trailblazer
Remembrance Trailblazer is just a fantastic support in general, and True DMG is such a rare buff that thankfully benefits HP DPS too. RMC also provides 10% CRIT Rate, and Action Advance whenever teammates use Energy.
Bronya
Similar idea to Sunday, just downgraded. Bronya at least can enjoy not running out of SP since Mydei himself doesn’t consume SP. Mydei can also be played with a -1 setup with Bronya as she also has 100% Action Advance. However, timing and managing Mydei’s Godslayer to land while Bronya buffs him can be challenging since the buff expires right after his turn is over.
Ruan Mei/Jiaoqiu
Both Ruan Mei and Jiaoqiu are not ideal for Mydei, but are included here since Ruan Mei’s RES-Pen and DMG increase as well as Jiaoqiu’s Vulnerability does help HP DPS. However Ruan Mei is mostly busy in break teams, and Jiaoqiu’s Vulnerability is concentrated on Ultimate damage, while Mydei’s damage profile is heavily skewed to his Skill. Ruan Mei’s extended break also has anti-synergy with Mydei’s kit, and Jiaoqiu’s debuffs reapplying on enemy turns are useless for Mydei.
Sustain
Mydei needs to be healed, not because he’s scared of dying (he’s immortal), but because his Skills consume a certain HP%. Meaning if Mydei does not have enough HP and he uses his Skill, he will be dropped to 1% HP and lower the amount of Charge he gets, as his Charge gain is proportional 2:1 to how much HP he loses. Most Abundance units should work, but the ones below are the most ideal for Mydei.
Gallagher
Gallagher’s ST healing is very high, and Gallagher’s besotted debuff heals more depending on how many enemies it hits. Since Mydei’s attacks are all Blast, Mydei will heal a lot of HP on his attacks, keeping him healthy. Gallagher can also afford to Skill every turn, since Mydei does not consume any SP during “Vendetta”.
Luocha
Nobody doubts Luocha’s healing capabilities. Luocha’s auto Skill when Mydei is below 50% HP, as well as continuous healing whenever teammates attack, will keep Mydei topped up well.
Huohuo
Huohuo’s healing falls short compared to Gallagher and Luocha; however, Huohuo provides Energy, giving both Sunday and Mydei more Ultimates, which cannot be understated. Huohuo can also Skill more often, as Mydei does not use any SP in “Vendetta”.
HSR Mydei Teams
Mydei Hypercarry
There really isn’t much flexibility with Mydei’s comps. He’s played as a traditional hyper-carry with a much more restrictive support pool, as most of the harmonies were made for ATK DPS. Sunday and RMC are his best partners, as they have 100% Action Advance and buffs that last out of turn. Tribbie’s buffs are just great and universal for any party, but particularly Mydei because he can’t use Robin. Mydei’s healer choices should be one of the three: Huohuo, Luocha, and Gallagher. Other options for Abundance either don’t heal enough (Lynx), or do way better in other parties (Lingsha).
HSR Mydei Pull Value and Conclusion
Mydei is no doubt a strong unit. However, being strong is a given as a recent DPS. The question is how versatile is Mydei and what does he offer?
Mydei’s best-performing mode is MoC; he is no doubt one of the best units there. However, in PF, Mydei falls short due to the limitations of a Blast and Taunt unit. Mydei is also not very good in AS, whether it’s break focused or attack frequency related. Mydei’s toughness damage is frankly, underwhelming.
Mydei’s auto-combat and targeting is also polarizing to some, as it takes out the agency of actually playing the unit. Mydei is definitely not a must pull meta-wise, as the DPS pool is overflowing with strong characters, so you need to either really excel in one department or be versatile in all scenarios, which Mydei does not fit. There are many Imaginary DPS as well, further reducing his value, compared to say Castorice, a rare Quantum main DPS since Seele.
