March 7th (Hunt): Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More

March 7th (Hunt) is a 4 Star Hunt Character that was available via the War Dance Event that the players can get for free, and her Eidolons as well. March 7th (Hunt) is a versatile sub-DPS unit that can work in either the Follow-up team or Superbreak team.

March 7th (Hunt) HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

The Shifu Mechanics

March 7th (Hunt)’s gameplay revolves around a designated teammate called “Shifu”. By using her Skill – Master, It’s Tea Time!, she can target one teammate and make them “Shifu”, and only the most recent target of this effect can be “Shifu”. This teammate will get their Speed increased by 10%. The Shifu will gain an additional effect depending on their paths.

Whenever March 7th attacks with her Basic Attack or Enhanced Basic Attack, she will trigger a corresponding effect depending on the Paths of her Shifu. Erudition, Destruction, Hunt, Remembrance, and Elation Shifu will let her deal an additional damage instance equal to 20% of March 7th’s Attack. On the other hand, Harmony, Nihility, Preservation, and Abundance Shifu will increase the Toughness Damage of this attack by 100%.

March 7th will mainly use her Basic Attack after designating an ally as her Shifu. She has two versions of her Basic Attack, with the normal Basic Attack granting her a point of Charge. Every time the Shifu uses an Attack or Ultimate, March 7th will also gain 1 point of Charge. Charge can be stored up to 10 points.

Upon reaching 7 or higher points of Charge, March 7th will immediately take action and increase her damage by 80%. Her Basic Attack will then be transformed to the Enhanced Version – Brows Be Smitten, Heart Be Bitten, and she cannot use Skill for this action.

March 7th can also gain Charge from her Technique – Feast In One Go – which gives 1 Charge at the start of the battle whenever an ally uses their Technique, with a cap of 3 Charges. This technique will also regenerate 30 Energy for her at the start of the battle.

Her Enhanced Basic Attack deals significantly more damage, with 3 hits that deal 80% of her Attack each, and then she has a 60% chance to inflict an additional instance of damage, with a cap of 3 additional hits. This Enhanced Basic Attack cannot recover Skill Points.

To supplement this, March 7th’s Ultimate – March 7th, the Apex Heroine – deals damage to one enemy and then increases the hits per action of her Enhanced Basic Attack by 2 hits and the chance to trigger additional damage by 20%.

March 7th’s traces further improve her ability to get a Shifu online quickly, and her and Shifu’s power. Swan Soar – her first major trace – immediately action advance March 7th by 25% upon entering combat, which helps her designate an ally as Shifu immediately.

Filigree – her second major trace – lets her reduce enemies’ Toughness with the same Weakness Type as her Shifu’s Combat Type, so she can reduce a Wind-weak enemy’s Toughness if her Shifu is a Wind character. Last but not least, Tide Tamer increases her Shifu’s Crit Damage by 60% and Break Effect by 36% for 2 turns whenever she uses her Enhanced Basic Attack.

March 7th (Hunt) Gameplay Evaluation

March 7th (Hunt) clearly benefits a lot from a Shifu that can attack frequently. She can play in two archetypes thanks to how the Shifu’s Path grants different effects.

In a follow-up attack team with Erudition, Elation, Hunt, Destruction, or Remembrance teammates, March 7th is a competent sub-DPS with exceptionally high attack frequency, which makes him a synergistic teammate for units like Feixiao (whose charges her Ultimates via teammates’ attacks) and Robin (whose deals a lot of additional damage when paired with high-frequency attack characters).

March 7th is also a very competent Breaker thanks to her high Toughness Damage. Even without a Nihility, Harmony, Abundance, or Destruction Shifu, her ability to deal Toughness Damage that matches her Shifu’s Type is very useful, especially in Apocalyptic Shadow.

When paired with Shifu of the aforementioned path, March 7th does a lot of Toughness Damage on her own while also increasing her teammates’ Break Effect. This allows her to be played in the Superbreak team as either the main breaker or supporting another main breaker.

Outside of these teams, March 7th does not offer enough damage output to be a hypercarry, nor the buff to be a full-fledged amplifier. Nonetheless, for her availability and cost of investment, she is a surprisingly useful unit that can pull her weight when properly setup.

Eidolon Priority

Since all of her Eidolons are basically free as long as the players clear the events, players should most definitely try to get them. Of her Eidolons, her E2 is most relevant as it improves both her Attack frequency and Charging economy. Her remaining Eidolons are all decent but not particularly impactful improvements, improving her operation and damage output.

Premium Options

Yet Hope Is Priceless

Yet Hope Is Priceless: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 10 SPD that exceeds 100, increases DMG dealt by Basic ATK and Skill by 6% / 7% / 8% / 9% / 10%. At the same time, increases the CRIT DMG of Ultimate by 12% / 14% / 16% / 18% / 20%. This effect can stack up to 6 times.

This Light Cone gives her the most overall damage when built for Crit, as it boosts her Basic Attack damage, Crit Rate, and Ultimate’s Crit Damage all in one. Most March 7th build will have decent Speed to stack up the boosts from this Light Cone.

Worrisome Blissful

Worrisome, Blissful: Increase the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30% and increases DMG dealt by Follow-Up ATK by 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50%. After the wearer uses a Follow-Up ATK, inflicts the target with the “Tame” state, stacking up to 2 times. When allies hit enemy targets under the “Tame” state, each “Tame” stack increases the CRIT DMG dealt by 12% / 14% / 16% / 18% / 20%.

This Light Cone is the best Light Cone for supporting the follow-up attack team, thanks to its easy-to-apply follow-up vulnerability and crit damage vulnerability debuffs, which help improve the entire team’s damage output.

Sailing Towards a Second Life

Sailing Towards a Second Life: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60.0% / 70.0% / 80.0% / 90.0% / 100.0% and Break DMG dealt by the wearer ignores 20.0% / 23.0% / 26.0% / 29.0% / 32.0% of the target’s DEF. When the wearer’s Break Effect in battle is at 150.0% or greater, increase their SPD by 12.0% / 14.0% / 16.0% / 18.0% / 20.0%.

This Light Cone would be the premium option when using March 7th in a Super Break team, as Def Ignore is one of the best damage multiplier for Super Break damage, and the Speed boost massively helps her operation.

Swordplay: For each time the wearer hits the same target, DMG dealt increases by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16%, stacking up to 5 times. This effect will be dispelled when the wearer changes targets.

A fantastic 4 Star option for personal damage, especially in a follow-up attack team.

F2P Options

The Seriousness of Breakfast

The Seriousness of Breakfast: Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. For every enemy defeated by the wearer, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8%, stacking up to 3 times.

This is the best F2P option for March 7th (Hunt), courtesy of its easy-to-attain bonus, high base stats, and accessibility from the Herta shop.

HSR March 7th (Hunt) Main Stats

  • Body: Crit Damage% / Crit Rate%
  • Feet: Attack% / Speed
  • Orb: Imaginary Damage% / Attack%
  • Rope: Attack% / Energy Regeneration Rope / Break Effect%

March 7th is mostly used in the follow-up attack team as Sub-DPS for units like Feixiao or Topaz. For this route, she will want Crit stats on her Body to maximize her damage output. Both Attack and Speed boot are viable, depending on her Light Cone option and builds.

In general, Attack boot is better for damage output, while Speed boot, especially if it helps her reach a certain breakpoint, will edge out when players want to maximize her attack frequency or In The Night’s bonus effects. For Orbs, both Imaginary Damage% and Attack% are viable to maximize her damage.

For Rope, Attack% for more damage, while Energy Regeneration Rate% can be quite clutch for certain setups where players want to further increases her attack frequency.

For her Break setup, she will mostly cares about Speed and Break Effect%, meaning Speed boot and Break Effect% Rope are what she should go for.

HSR March 7th (Hunt) Sub Stats

  • Crit Damage% / Crit Rate% / Attack%
  • Speed / Break Effect%

Similar to her main stats option, March 7th (Hunt) should aim primarily for Crit Rate% / Crit Damage% and Attack% for her substats when playing as a follow-up attack unit to maximize her damage output. When used in Superbreak team, she will want as much Speed and Break Effect% as possible.

HSR March 7th (Hunt) Teammates

March 7th (Hunt) can be used in both the follow-up attack team and Superbreak team, but her effectiveness in the follow-up attack team is noticeably more

Follow-up Teams

feixiao

Feixiao: March 7th (Hunt) is one of Feixiao’s best teammates, especially for Apocalyptic Shadow. Both of them have very high attack frequency that fuel each other’s mechanics, resulting in a lot of Ultimate for Feixiao and Enhanced Basic Attack for March 7th. Furthermore, Feixiao has Omnibreak on her Ultimate, while March 7th can match her Shifu’s element, to help break enemies faster.

robin

Robin: With her high attack frequency, it is not a surprise that Robin would be a natural partner for March 7th, and most follow-up attack units in general.

Dr Ratio and Topaz

Dr. Ratio / Topaz: Both are good Follow-up attack carries that March 7th can play second-fiddle to, albeit not to the extent of Feixiao.

Tribbie and Cipher

Tribbie / Cipher: March 7th is a Sub-DPS, so she loves amplifiers that can boost the entire team’s damage, as she benefits from that as well.

Aventurine and Dan Heng - Permansor Terrae

Aventurine / Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae: Aventurine is the premium sustain unit for the follow-up team, while Permansor Terrae is a great generic sustain for any Attack-scaling hypercarries.

Break Team

Fugue and The Dahlia

Fugue / The Dahlia: These two units are the cornerstone of any modern Superbreak team. Together, they provide massive amounts of Superbreak multiplier and a lot of quality of life effects that any Superbreak player will sorely miss, such as Exo-Toughness, Break Efficiency Buff, Break Vulnerability Debuff, or Weakness Implant.

Ruan Mei and Harmony Trailblazer

Ruan Mei / Harmony Trailblazer: Ruan Mei and Harmony Trailblazer are both good Break Support that have been powercrept a bit by Fugue and The Dahlia, but for players who do not have the aforementioned two, these units are still very good in Superbreak team, and mostly free.

Lingsha and Gallagher

Lingsha / Gallagher: Both units are fantastic Break-scaling healers with massive Toughness Damage, with great attack frequency to serve as March 7th’s Shifu.

HSR March 7th (Hunt) Value and Conclusion

Overall, as March 7th (Hunt) is entirely free, players should raise her if they are playing any of the Follow-up attack carries like Feixiao, Topaz, or Dr. Ratio. She can also be a fun option for the Superbreak team, but far from the top options for this archetype. If the players are not interested in either scenario, or are tight on materials, then she is a pretty safe unit to skip levelling.
