Jade: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More

Jade is a sub DPS that can also dish out incredible AoE damage from her follow-ups. Jade designates an ally as a “Debt Collector” and collects stacks of her talent depending on how many targets her ally hits. This makes her amazing against 5 targets, but poor when the number of enemies are low. There are ways to work around this, whether through her first Eidolon or frequency of attacks, but the downside is still there.

Nevertheless, Jade is regarded as the Queen of Pure Fiction, and varies in performance in Memory of Chaos and Apocalyptic Shadow, at the mercy of the number of enemies on the field. The demand of AoE is rising with more shared HP enemies, so Jade is in a unique situation, seeing more play and recognition compared to her release reception.

Jade HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

Jade requires another ally, often a DPS to be used properly. This is done from her Skill, which designates an ally as a “Debt Collector”, increasing their SPD by a flat 30 for 3 turn(s). This makes Jade SP positive, since she only needs to Skill once every 3 turns! Thanks to her A6 trace that action advances her in the start of battle by 50%, she will act before her ally to buff them.

Jade acts as a sub DPS to her ally. When her ally attacks, Jade will deal 1 instance of Quantum DMG equal to 25% of Jade’s ATK to each enemy and consume her Debt Collector’s HP equal to 2% of their max HP. You can skill Jade herself, but it’s really better on another ally. Jade also does not consume her own HP or gain the SPD buff if she’s the Debt Collector.

Here’s the most important part, her Talent. When the Debt Collector or Jade attacks, Jade gains a stack of Charge for each enemy hit. When she reaches 8 points of Charge, she launches a follow-up attack doing 120% of Jade’s ATK to all enemies. This is why she is so advantageous in AoE fights. The more targets, the faster she can get her follow-up. This restriction can be remedied by her first Eidolon (refer to Eidolons section). From her talent she also has something called Pawned Asset that gives her many self buffs, but more on that later.

Jade’s stacks also account for overflow, a modern QoL compared to say other FUA units like Himeko or Jing Yuan. Meaning even if Jade is CC’ed, she will unleash all of her follow-ups once she’s been cleansed.

Jade’s Ultimate does 240% of her ATK to all enemies, and for the next two follow-ups increases its multiplier by 80%. This makes Jade’s follow-up multiplier on 5 targets go from 600% to 1000%, which is massive considering its full AoE. Jade’s Basic ATK is a Blast, dealing 90% of her ATK to the main target and 30% to adjacent enemies. Jade’s Ultimate will give her 5 stacks of Charge, while her Basic ATK will give 3.

Pawned Asset is a stacking mechanic that caps out at 50. For every stack, she gains 2.4% CRIT DMG, meaning at max stacks, she gets a free 120 CRIT DMG. Jade also gains 0.5% ATK for each stack thanks to her A2 trace, which is another free 25% ATK. Jade from her A4 trace gains 1 stack of Pawned Asset whenever an enemy enters combat, and 3 stacks on the Debt Collector’s turn. Finally, Jade gets 5 stacks of Pawned Asset whenever her follow-up launches.

Jade’s Technique does 50% of her ATK to all enemies and she immediately gains 15 stacks of Pawned Asset. Nothing too special.

Jade’s goal in-combat is pretty simple. Pawn an ally and make them pay their debt by getting stacks of Charge so that she can launch her follow-up frequently. You’ll want a healer too since she will be taking their HP slowly away too. Pawned Asset should naturally stack along as the battle goes on, and would stack pretty quickly in modes like Pure Fiction or depending on how fast you can dish out your follow-ups.

Jade HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Lash of Riches: Deals Quantum DMG equal to 90% of Jade’s ATK to a single target enemy, and Quantum DMG equal to 30% of Jade’s ATK to adjacent enemies.

Skill – Acquisition Surety: Makes a single target ally become the Debt Collector and increases their SPD by 30, lasting for 3 turn(s).

After the Debt Collector attacks, deals 1 instance of Quantum Additional DMG equal to 25% of Jade’s ATK to each enemy target hit, and consumes the Debt Collector’s HP by an amount equal to 2% of their Max HP. If the current HP is insufficient, reduces HP to 1.

If Jade becomes the Debt Collector, she cannot gain the SPD boost effect, and her attacks do not consume HP.

When the Debt Collector exists on the field, Jade cannot use her Skill. At the start of Jade’s every turn, the Debt Collector’s duration decreases by 1 turn.

At the start of Jade’s every turn, the Debt Collector’s duration decreases by 1 turn.

Ultimate – Vow of the Deep: Deals Quantum DMG equal to 240% of Jade’s ATK to all enemies. At the same time, Jade enhances her Talent’s follow-up attack, increasing its DMG multiplier by 80%. This enhancement can take effect 2 time(s).

Talent – Fang of Flare Flaying: After Jade or the Debt Collector unit attacks, gains 1 point of Charge for each enemy target hit. Upon reaching 8 points of Charge, consumes the 8 points to launch 1 instance of follow-up attack, dealing Quantum DMG equal to 120% of Jade’s ATK to all enemies. This follow-up attack does not generate Charge.

When launching her Talent’s follow-up attack, Jade immediately gains 5 stack(s) of Pawned Asset, with each stack increasing CRIT DMG by 2.4%, stacking up to 50 times.

Technique – Visionary Predation: After using the Technique, inflicts enemies within a set area with Blind Fealty for 10 second(s). Enemies inflicted with Blind Fealty will not initiate attacks on allies. When entering battle via actively attacking enemies inflicted.

Jade HSR Traces

Reverse Repo: When an enemy target enters combat, Jade gains 1 stack(s) of Pawned Asset. When the Debt Collector character’s turn starts, additionally gains 3 stack(s) of Pawned Asset.

Collateral Ticket: When the battle starts, action advances Jade by 50%.

Asset Forfeiture: Each Pawned Asset stack from the Talent additionally increases Jade’s ATK by 0.5%.

Jade HSR Eidolons

  1. Altruism? Nevertheless Tradable: The Follow-up ATK DMG from Jade’s Talent increases by 32%. After the “Debt Collector” character attacks and the number of the enemy target(s) hit is either 2 or 1, Jade additionally gains 1 or 2 point(s) of Charge respectively.
  2. Morality? Herein Authenticated: When there are 15 stacks of Pawned Asset, Jade’s CRIT Rate increases by 18%.
  3. Honesty? Soon Mortgaged: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to maximum of Lv. 15.
  4. Sincerity? Put Option Only: When using Ultimate, enables the DMG dealt by Jade to ignore 12% of enemy targets’ DEF, lasting for 3 turn(s).
  5. Hope? Hitherto Forfeited: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
  6. Equity? Pending Sponsorship: While the “Debt Collector” character exists on the field, Jade’s Quantum RES PEN increases by 20%, and Jade gains the “Debt Collector” state.

Jade has a very potent E1, as it opens up her viable teammate options. Normally you want AoE characters to get Charge stacks, but with her E1 you can even pair her with a Hunt that attacks frequently, and still be useful in 1-2 target situations. She gets 2 extra Charges when hitting 1 enemy, and 1 extra when hitting 2. This means at minimum, she will get 3 Charges per action, even against a ST enemy, one of her biggest weaknesses at E0.

Her E2 is a nice CRIT Rate buff that’s instantly activated due to her technique. E4 is a nice DEF shred boost, a surprise since most E4s are pretty lacking. Her E6 increases her DPS even more with the 20% Quantum RES PEN and increases the rate she gets Charge stacks, since she gains the “Debt Collector” state too.

For going Vertical E1 is a really nice option over her Signature since it allows her to be usable outside of Pure Fiction or heavy AoE enemies. I would recommend her E1 over Signature for flexibility.

HSR Jade Light Cones

Premium Options

Yet Hope is Priceless: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 16% / 19% / 22% / 25% / 28%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 20% CRIT DMG that exceeds 120%, the DMG dealt by follow-up attack increases by 12% / 14% / 16% / 18% / 20%. This effect can stack up to 4 time(s). When the battle starts or after the wearer uses their Basic ATK, enables the DMG dealt by Ultimate or follow-up attack to ignore 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% / 36% of the target’s DEF, lasting for 2 turn(s).

Great Signature for Jade. In addition to the CRIT Rate, the DMG% gain should be no problem to hit due to Jade’s Talent. A rare LC that also gives 20% DEF shred is very powerful. The only downside is that you need to use your Basic ATK to get the DEF shred, so this Light Cone isn’t very splashable unless you’re Jade. E1 is still preferred, since while her Signature is a sizable damage increase, in Pure Fiction she is not lacking in damage, and E1 opens up her teammate options for other modes.

Night on the Milky Way

Night on the Milky Way: For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 9% / 10.5% / 12% / 13.5% / 15%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50% for 1 turn.

Himeko’s Signature Light Cone is a great option if you can trigger the Weakness Break. Since Jade is most used in Pure Fiction, 5 target enemies should be common making this a strong choice.

Before Dawn

Before Dawn: Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36% / 42% / 48% / 54% / 60%. Increases DMG dealt by the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30%. After the wearer uses Skill or Ultimate, gains Somnus Corpus. Upon triggering a follow-up attack, consumes Somnus Corpus, and increases DMG dealt by follow-up attack by 48% / 56% / 64% / 72% / 80%.

Although Jade cannot benefit from the Skill DMG increase and other parts of his Light Cone, Jing Yuan’s signature is a great stat stick and a generally good Erudition Light Cone.

Today is Another Peaceful Day

Today is Another Peaceful Day: After entering battle, increases the wearer’s DMG based on their Max Energy. DMG increases by 0.20% / 0.25% / 0.30% / 0.35% /0.40% per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy.

The Battle Pass LC is the best 4 star option for Jade, Since Jade’s Energy costs are on the higher side (140), she can benefit well from this LC.

Geniuses Repose

Geniuses Repose: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 3 turn(s).

If you can keep up the CRIT DMG uptime constantly, this Light Cone is a very good option.

F2P Options

Eternal Calculus

Eternal Calculus: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 8%. After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 4%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and last until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit’s SPD increases by 8%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

Decent option from the Herta shop. Can be used as a F2P option before you get one of the premium options mentioned above.

The Seriousness of Breakfast

The Seriousness of Breakfast: Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. For every enemy defeated by the wearer, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8%, stacking up to 3 time(s).

Decent option available from the Forgotten Hall shop. Can be used as a F2P option before you get one of the premium options mentioned above.

HSR Jade Main Stats

  • Body: CRIT Rate >= CRIT DMG
  • Feet: Attack%
  • Orb: Quantum Damage% / Attack%
  • Rope: Attack%

Jade is a sub DPS, but she should be built like any other DPS, prioritizing crit stats and attack. Jade’s speed is not that important since her damage is not tied to her turn, so Attack boots are preferred. Quantum or Attack Orb is fine, whichever has the better substats. Her Rope should be ATK% as well, to increase the amount of damage she can do.

HSR Jade Sub Stats

  • CRIT Rate (~100%)
  • CRIT DMG
  • Attack

Jade’s role as a sub DPS does not change her build compared to any other traditional DPS. Her talent is multi-hit attacks, so CRIT Rate should be prioritized over CRIT DMG, in addition to already getting a lot of CRIT DMG from her kit.

Speedtuning: Jade does not have any notable speedtuning. In addition, one of her traces gives her 50% Action Advance at the start of battle so that she can make one of her teammates the Debt Collector without needing any speed. Her damage is also not dependent on her turns at all but on her Debt Collector’s attack frequency and the number of enemies.

HSR Jade Relics

The Ashblazing Grand Duke

The Ashblazing Grand Duke

  • 2-Pc: Increases the DMG dealt by follow-up attack by 20%.
  • 4-Pc: When the wearer uses a follow-up attack, increases the wearer’s ATK by 6% for every time the follow-up attack deals DMG. This effect can stack up to 8 time(s) and lasts for 3 turn(s). This effect is removed the next time the wearer uses a follow-up attack.

Most general best option for Jade. Since her damage is mostly from her talent follow-up, Duke is a good set for her, giving her a lot of ATK% since she’s swimming in CRIT DMG from her Pawned Asset.

Genius of Brilliant Stars

Genius of Brilliant Stars

  • 2-Pc: Increases Quantum DMG by 10%.
  • 4-Pc: When the wearer deals DMG to the target enemy, ignores 10% DEF. If the target enemy has Quantum Weakness, the wearer additionally ignores 10% DEF.

One of the earliest relics since the game came out, and still great if you’re against Quantum weak. Against Quantum weak, Genius outperforms Duke slightly, but loses against non-Quantum. Since Jade is played as a sub-DPS, you may not always put her against Quantum weak enemies, so keep that in mind.

HSR Jade Planar Sets

Jade doesn’t have a perfect planar for her, so most of these planars perform marginally the same. As always, choose the one with the best substats.

Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves

  • 2-Pc:When an ally uses a follow-up attack, the wearer gains 1 stack of Merit, stacking up to 5 time(s). Each stack of Merit increases the DMG dealt by the wearer’s follow-up attacks by 5%.
  • When there are 5 stacks, additionally increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 25%.

When paired with other FUA characters, Duran is one of the best options since they all contribute to gaining stacks for Merit, and provides a good boost to follow-up damage plus 25% CRIT DMG.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12.0%. When entering battle, if at least one teammate follows the same Path as the wearer, then the wearer’s CRIT Rate increases by 12.0%

In Pure Fiction she is often paired with another Erudition Unit, so the CRIT Rate increase is easy to get.

Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 4%. When an enemy target gets defeated, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 4%, stacking up to 10 time(s).

Good for Pure Fiction, otherwise not optimal when there aren’t many enemies to be killed.

Inert Salsotto

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8.0%. When the wearer’s current Crit Rate reaches 50.0% or higher, the DMG dealt by the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack increases by 15.0%.

Good general planar, increasing her DMG on follow-ups and Ultimate.

HSR Jade Teammates

Main DPS

blade

Blade: Blade is the ideal Debt Collector partner for Jade. All of Blade’s attacks are multi-target, and with an Action Advancer like Bronya, he can attack frequently for her stacks. Due to Jade’s SPD buff, Blade can equip HP boots instead. In addition, since Jade consumes Blade’s HP, it will also double Blade’s talent stack generation as well.

Herta/Himeko: Herta and Himeko provide a lot of AoE attacks and can each trigger their own follow up attacks from Jade’s talent, creating a positive feedback loop which can lead to endless follow-ups under the right circumstances.

HSR Portrait Feixiao

Feixiao: A Hunt with an Erudition? That’s right. Feixiao with her frequent follow-up attacks can be a viable and surprisingly strong partner with Jade’s E1. It’s not advisable at E0, but can still work in Pure Fiction when you need to deal with elites that have large HP, which Feixiao is more than capable of dispatching.

yunli

Yunli: Yunli with her frequent follow-ups and AoE both in the form of Blast and Bounce from her Ultimate can be a really potent partner for Jade, and is overkill for modes like Pure Fiction.

Jing Yuan and Argenti

Jing Yuan/Argenti: The synergy is not as noticeable as Herta/Himeko and they both prefer hypercarry, but can work since all their abilities hit every enemy, making stack generation easy for Jade.

Harmony/Nihility

robin

Robin: With Jade’s role as a sub DPS, her teams are mostly composed of two DPS. Since Robin’s Concerto buffs everyone in the party, she is the ideal buffer in Jade’s teams.

HSR Portrait Ruan Mei

Ruan Mei: Ruan Mei is also a good harmony due to her aura buffs. Although she is mostly busy nowadays in break teams, her team-wide buffs are great for Jade’s dual DPS comps.

sunday

Sunday: Sunday’s synergy is not directly with Jade, but the Debt Collector she assigns. Sunday’s ST buffs do not benefit Jade, but his SP positivity, Energy, and 100% Action Advance makes the DPS and Summon be able to act more, which in turn helps Jade get more Charges to launch her follow-up attack.

HSR Portrait Bronya

Bronya: Bronya can 100% Action Advance the Debt Collector, which in turn makes the DPS get more turns and generate more Charges for Jade to get her follow-up attack. Since Jade only consumes SP once every 3 turns, it eases the SP load for Bronya as well, who is notorious for eating SP for dinner.

Sub DPS

HSR Portrait Topaz

Topaz: Topaz’s follow-up vulnerability and Numby’s frequent attacks creates a strong synergy with Jade at E1.

Sustain

lingsha

Lingsha: Jade can make Lingsha a Debt Collector, and since Lingsha’s abilities are all AoE, she is an excellent stack generator for her. This comp requires specific teammates, but can enable Lingsha to be a viable DPS, despite being a Healer.

gallagher

Gallagher: Similar but less effective as Lingsha, you can make Gallagher a Debt Collector and with E1 Jade play him as a Robin driver along with an Action Advancer like Bronya to slowly chip away on the enemy with Robin and Jade’s procs.

HSR Jade Teams

Jade Dual DPS (Pure Fiction)

Both Herta and Himeko can help Jade gain stacks for her talent, and when her follow-up is launched, can subsequently trigger their own follow-up, whether through weakness break or low HP. If played under the right circumstances, you can see a chain of follow-ups back to back in an endless loop. These teamcomps are the best in Pure Fiction, but won’t do that well in other modes since there is no good source of ST.

Blade-Jade

Blade doubles his talent generation from Jade’s Debt Collector, since it consumes his own HP. Bronya’s action advance makes Blade act often, and since Blade including his Basic ATK are all AoE in some capacity, works great for stacking Jade’s talent.

Jade sub DPS (E1 recommended)

Jade with her E1 opens up more options, particularly with non-Erudition units. The best example is Feixiao, since her attack frequency is so high, can make up for her Hunt restriction. Yunli is less dependent on E1 Jade, but also works well with her when AoE is in high demand as well as 2T.

I’m a Healer *loads gun

This comp makes Lingsha as the Debt Collector, and uses Bronya to AA Lingsha. Lingsha is incredible at generating stacks, since all her Skill and Summon are full AoE. Lingsha can be played as a DPS, and the damage is respectable since you’re essentially playing a triple support team.

Gallagher Robin Driver (E1 recommended)

This comp makes Gallagher the Debt Collector, and abuses Gallagher’s attack frequency from his own Action Advance on his Ultimate and Bronya’s Skill to proc Robin’s damage and Jade’s talent to slowly chip away on the enemy. Gallagher’s only AoE is from his Ultimate, which is why Jade’s E1 is recommended if you want to try out this fun team.

HSR Jade Pull Value and Conclusion

Jade is an interesting character, who is aging better than expected. In the guide for Argenti, I heavily discouraged pulling him, since he’s only good in Pure Fiction. Jade is a bit of a different case. She is of course a monster in Pure Fiction, and can work with Himeko/Herta, both characters that are either Free or from the Standard Banner.

Unlike Argenti however, Jade is a sub DPS, and has a myriad more team comp options, particularly with her E1 unlocked. She still doesn’t have an ideal partner that can fully utilize her kit or benefit from her. Jade has seen unique use in MoC or AS environments that have shared HP enemies with surprisingly good results, since her 5 target damage is one of the best.

Jade is far from a must pull; however if you are struggling with Pure Fiction or want a sub DPS that is amazing against AoE, which is in need of more recently, Jade is one of the best options. She is also a sub DPS, so her longevity should be longer than a main DPS. Finally, Jade is one of the prime characters that can receive a big upgrade from a BiS teammate like Topaz did with Feixiao, but that’s to be seen.
