Huohuo is an Energy-based Healer with excellent cleansing capacity. With her powerful Ultimate being a teamwide energy battery, she is generally the go-to sustainer for not only Energy-based DPS but also a lot of energy-hungry support units in the game and can trivialize a lot of heavily debuff-based gimmick encounters in the game.
Huohuo HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)
Huohuo’s kit as well as her main selling points can essentially be split into two major parts: her Ultimate and her Talent.
Her Ultimate – Tail: Spiritual Domination restores all allies’ energy by 20% of their max Energy cap and increases their Attack by 40%. Since this is based on the unit’s max Energy cap, units with extremely high energy caps such as Robin (160), Argenti (180), or Yunli (240) will gain significantly more energy than low energy cap units (like Pela). As of the moment, Huohuo is the only unit with a teamwide Energy Regeneration effect, and in general large Energy injections are quite rare for good reasons: there are a lot of powerful units whose a lot of their power is locked behind their Ultimate. The main downside of this Ultimate is it has a very large energy cost of 140, which means Huohuo cannot use it as frequently as she would want.
Huohuo’s Skill is a Blast Heal, which heals a primary target, dispels 1 debuff on them, and further heals the two units next to said target. The skill by itself is not that powerful but rather serves as the means to trigger her Talent – Possession: Ethereal Metaflow. After using her Skill, Huohuo gains a special effect called Divine Provision that lasts for 2 turns. While she has this status, whenever an ally takes action or uses their Ultimate, they will heal and cleanse a debuff from themselves. The cleanse has a cap of 6 times during Divine Provision’s duration, while the heal is only capped by the number of actions or ultimates the team can squeeze in during this window. Furthermore, any ally at 50% HP or below will be healed every time Divine Provision triggers, serving as a form of emergency healing.

Huohuo’s cleansing capacity is one of the best, if not the best, amongst all sustainers thanks to Divine Provision. It is also extremely potent against Crowd Control effects since the cleanse will trigger before the character turns, which means it is particularly effective against bosses that like to spam disabling effects like Kafka or Cocolia. The tradeoff, however, is that Huohuo has to use her skill at least once every 3 turns to upkeep this status. This made her a lot more SP-intensive than some other sustainers like Luocha or Aventurine.
Huohuo’s traces are all quite strong. Her first trace put up Divine Provision for 1 turn at the start of the battle, saving the need to use Skill right away. Her second trace is a 35% increased chance to resist Crowd Control, which is quite handy since she should always be available to emergency cleanse ally with her Skill when needed. Her last trace grants her 1 Energy every time Divine Provision’s healing effect is triggered, which helps her access her Ultimate more often.
Huohuo’s Technique will terrorize a small area around her by releasing Tail – the Heliobus that possesses her. All enemies within this area will be Terrorstruck, running away from Huohuo. The more practical effect of this Technique is a small Attack debuff onto all enemies with Terrorstruck when entering battle.
Huohuo HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Stormcaller: Deals Wind Damage equal to 50% of Huohuo’s Max HP to a target enemy.

Skill – Talisman: Protection: Dispels 1 debuff from a single target ally and immediately restores this ally’s HP by an amount equal to 21% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 560. At the same time, restores HP for allies that are adjacent to this target ally by an amount equal to 16.8% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 448.

Ultimate – Tail: Spiritual Domination: Regenerates Energy for all teammates (i.e., excluding this unit) by an amount equal to 20% of their respective Max Energy. At the same time, increase their Attack by 40% for 2 turns.

Talent – Possession: Ethereal Metaflow: After using her Skill, Huohuo gains Divine Provision, lasting for 2 turns. This duration decreases by 1 turn at the start of Huohuo’s every turn. If Huohuo has Divine Provision when an ally’s turn starts or when an ally uses their Ultimate, restores HP for that ally by an amount equal to 4.5% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 120. At the same time, every ally with 50% HP percentage or lower receives healing once.
When Divine Provision is triggered to heal an ally, dispel 1 debuff from that ally. This effect can be triggered up to 6 times. Using the skill again resets the effect’s trigger count.

Technique – Fiend: Impeachment of Evil: Huohuo terrorizes surrounding enemies, afflicting Horror-Struck on them. Enemies in Horror-Struck will flee away from Huohuo for 10 second. When entering battle with enemies in Horror-Struck, there is a 100% base chance of reducing every single enemy’s Attack by 25% for 2 turns.
Huohuo HSR Traces

Fearful to Act: When battle starts, Huohuo gains Divine Provision, lasting for 1 turn.

The Cursed One: Increases the chance to resist Crowd Control debuffs by 35%.

Stress Reaction to Horror: When her Talent is triggered to heal allies, Huohuo regenerates 1 Energy.
Huohuo HSR Eidolons

- Anchored to Vessel, Specters Nestled: The duration of Divine Provision produced by the Talent is extended by 1 turn. When Huohuo possesses Divine Provision, all allies’ SPD increases by 12%.
- Sealed in Tail, Wraith Subdued: If Huohuo possesses “Divine Provision” when an ally target is struck by a killing blow, the ally will not be knocked down and their HP will immediately be restored by an amount equal to 50% of their Max HP. This reduces the duration of “Divine Provision” by 1 turn. This effect can only be triggered 2 time per battle.
- Cursed by Fate, Moths to Flame: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
- Tied in Life, Bound to Strife: When healing a target ally via Skill or Talent, the less HP the target ally currently has, the higher the amount of healing they will receive. The maximum increase in healing provided by Huohuo is 80%.
- Mandated by Edict, Evils Evicted: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic Attack Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
- Woven Together, Cohere Forever: When healing a target ally, increases the target ally’s Damage dealt by 50% for 2 turns.
Eidolon Priority
Sustainer’s Eidolon is generally not a great investment compared to Amplifier or DPS Eidolon. For Huohuo’s vertical healing, her E1 is the best amongst available options, as her Light Cone is not necessary to her function. Her E1 makes her a lot more SP-positive and also helps a lot of allies reach the desired Speed threshold.
After E1, it is not recommended to invest in Huohuo’s Eidolon unless one wants to go all the way to E6 (which, while quite strong, is still extremely expensive and inefficient compared to Amplifiers and DPS Eidolon).
- Eidolon 1: Very High
- Eidolon 2: Very Low
- Eidolon 4: Very Low
- Eidolon 6: Very High

Premium Options

Night of Fright: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 12% / 14% / 16% / 18% / 20%. When any ally uses their Ultimate, the wearer restores HP for the ally currently with the lowest HP percentage by an amount equal to 10% / 11% / 12% / 13% / 14% of the healed ally’s Max HP. When the wearer provides healing for an ally, it increases the healed ally’s Attack by 2.4% / 2.8% / 3.2% / 3.6% / 4%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and lasts for 2 turns.
Despite being Huohuo’s Signature Light Cone, Night of Fright is not a particularly efficient use of Warps. While this Light Cone makes her sustain capacity extremely comfy, it packs a lot weaker teamwide offensive support than her other options, which is her primary draw compared to other sustainers. Nonetheless, it is still a strong choice for Huohuo, just not absolutely above all other choices like most Signature Light Cones.

Shared Feeling: Increases the wearer’s Outgoing Healing by 10% / 12.5% / 15% / 17.5% / 20%. When using Skill, regenerates 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4 Energy for all allies.
Shared Feeling is one of the two best teamwide support Light Cones for Huohuo. It both increases her healing capacity but also gives an Energy boost to all allies when she uses her skill. Generally, Huohuo only wants to use Skill whenever her Divine Provision effect is running out or when she needs to emergency heal/cleanse an ally, so the effects are not that pronounced. However, there are teams (such as with Sparkle or Sunday) where Huohuo can afford to use her Skills a lot more often to take advantage of this effect.
F2P Options

Quid Pro Quo: At the start of the wearer’s turn, regenerates 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 Energy for a randomly chosen ally (excluding the wearer) whose current Energy is lower than 50%.
Quid Pro Quo is widely considered to be the strongest utility Light Cone for Abundance characters. The primary Huohuo’s build aims for high Speed to maximize the effect of this Light Cone, further emphasizing Huohuo’s role as an Energy battery.

Fine Fruit: At the start of the battle, immediately regenerates 6 / 7.5 / 9 / 10.5 / 12 Energy for all allies.
There are certain units whose first Ultimate can make or break a run, and Fine Fruit is a niche but effective choice to enable such rotation.
HSR Huohuo Main Stats
- Body: HP %/ Healing % /
- Feet: Speed
- Orb: HP%
- Rope: Energy Regeneration Rope %
Huohuo’s Healing scales off two stats, which are HP% and Healing%, so going for these stats on her Armor and Orb makes the most sense.
For Feet, Huohuo wants to be as fast as possible to both improve her SP economy and take advantage of Light Cones like Quid Pro Quo. Furthermore, resetting Huohuo’s Divine Provision also means resetting the cap of her cleanse effect which helps a lot against debuffing heavy enemies. Thus, Speed Boot is the ideal choice.
For Rope, Energy Regeneration is non-negotiable. Huohuo’s main selling point is her Ultimate, and having faster and more frequent access to it is tantamount to maximizing her value.
Speed Tuning:
When it comes to Speed Tuning, Huohuo is very simple. She wants to be as fast as possible. The easiest breakpoint to reach is 134 Speed, which lets her act twice in cycle 0. The next major Speed Breakpoint is 200 Speed which lets her act twice every cycle after cycle 0. Normally this is extremely hard to reach and unrealistic on her own, but one can reach it by combining several Speed increase effects (such as her E1, Ruan Mei’s Skill, or Robin E2 …) as well as Turn Advancing effects (such as the Dance Dance Dance Light Cone or the Eagle of Twilight set). Since it is varied depending on what each account has and her scaling off HP or Effect Res are not that influential, the general rule of thumb is just to get as much Speed on her as possible.
HSR Huohuo Sub Stats
- Speed
- HP%
- Effect Res %
Outside of Speed and HP% which directly affect her performance, Effect Res can be an extremely clutch stat in high difficulty content when combined with her Crowd Control reduction trace. Huohuo in general does not want to get Crowd Control since she is the main source of cleansing and healing for the team, and if she is unavailable during enemies’ burst window it can be the end of a run.
HSR Huohuo Relics
Option A

Passerby of Wandering Cloud:
- 2-Pc: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
- 4-Pc: At the start of the battle, immediately regenerates 1 Skill Point.
This is the most beginner-friendly set for Huohuo. It shares the domain with Musketeer of Wild Wheat – another good generalist set and provides two highly practical effects for Huohuo – being Healing% and Skill Point.
Option B

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace:
- 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%.
- 4-Pc: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn. This effect cannot be stacked.
Huohuo can trigger the effect of Messenger whenever she uses her Ultimate. The impact of this is quite varied depending on her teammates and their setup, but if used well it can help save the team’s Action Value.
Option C

Eagle of Twilight Line:
- 2-Pc: Increases Wind Damage by 10%.
- 4-Pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.
Eagle of Twilight is one of the ways to increase Huohuo’s effective Speed, but just like any tool for Speed tuning, it is highly dependent on other factors. Furthermore, the other set in this Domain is extremely mediocre, and thus it is only recommended to farm if the players have a lot of stamina to burn.
Option D

2+2 Combinations:
Any two combinations of these sets are viable options for Huohuo as she can make use of the stats increase.
HSR Huohuo Planar Sets
Option A

Lushaka, the Sunken Seas:
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. If the wearer is not the first character in the team lineup, then increases the Attack of the first character in the team lineup by 12%.
Lushaka not only provides the strongest offensive buff to ally but also is one of the only 3 planar sets that grant extra Energy Regeneration Rate.
Option B

Sprightly Vonwacq:
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s action is Advanced Forward by 40% immediately upon entering battle.
Similar to Lushaka, Sprightly Vonwaq gives an extra Energy Regeneration Rate which is highly valued by Huohuo. The advanced forward effect can be quite influential in squeezing an extra action for Huohuo over a set amount of Action Value.
Option C

Fleet of the Ageless:
2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ Attack increases by 8%.
Fleet is the only set that gives Max HP, which is a set that Huohuo likes. The Attack increase for teammates is also valuable, especially since it is teamwide instead of for 1 person like Lushaka as Huohuo is often paired with Robin – an Attack scaling amplifier.
Option D

Broken Keel:
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 10%. When the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ Critical Damage increases by 10%.
Broken Keel gives a good amount of Effect Res which can help Huohuo a lot against enemies with a lot of Crowd Control effects, while also providing a decent teamwide support buff.
HSR Huohuo Teammates
Main DPS

Yunli: Yunli has the highest energy cap in the game (240) meaning she gets a whopping 48 Energy back from Huohuo’s Ultimate. Furthermore, Yunli tends to draw a lot of aggro from enemies due to her playstyle, making Huohuo’s cleanse a godsend to keep her healthy.

Argenti: Argenti has the second-highest energy cap in the game at 180 and is another attack-scaling DPS, so Huohuo is naturally one of his best teammates.

DoT Team: The DoT team in general is extremely energy-hungry and scales off Attack, both of which Huohuo can provide via her Ultimate.

Jing Yuan: After Sunday’s release, Huohuo becomes Jing Yuan’s best sustain unit due to her synergy with his other supports – Robin and Sunday who are both Energy-based.

Dan Heng – Imbibitor Lunae: Dan Heng IL is another DPS where Ultimate is extremely beneficial to his playstyle, especially at E2.

Jingliu: Jingliu generally prefers Abundance over Preservation due to her teammate’s HP Draining mechanic. Furthermore, her Ultimate is a huge DPS burst that also lengthens her Transmigration state, so Huohuo beats out all other sustainers for her.
Harmony/Nihility

Robin: Robin has the highest Energy cap of all support, and generally struggles to reach her Ultimate during Concerto state outside of the follow-up team without external help. Huohuo alleviates a lot of this issue for Robin, and Huohuo’s Attack boost also does not run out on Robin, translating to more damage from her Concerto’s triggers.

Sunday: Sunday is another Energy battery support, which means he and Huohuo are highly effective for any high Energy consumption DPS like Yunli or Argenti. His SP Positivity when equipped with his Signature Light Cone also allows Huohuo to use her Skill more often.

Sparkle: Sparkle lets Huohuo be a lot more generous with her Skill Points consumption, which can cascade into faster Ultimate cycles. Furthermore, she is generally a good Dance! Dance! Dance users, thus, can help Huohuo act more often.

Tingyun: Tingyun is essentially the F2P version of Sunday for energy-based DPS. However, she has a lot of unique perks that make her a great partner with Huohuo, namely her capacity to abuse Dance! Dance! Dance! as well as her SP positivity.

Ruan Mei: Ruan Mei does not have a perfect 3 turns Rotation (Skill-Basic-Basic) for perfect Ultimate uptime on her own, and tends to rely on external factors (enemy hit RNG, Quid Pro Quo proc) to achieve this. Having Huohuo in the team will guarantee her rotation, making her a lot smoother to play. Furthermore, Ruan Mei is a rare unit with teamwide Speed buff, which helps Huohuo get high Speed easier.
HSR Huohuo Teams
Huohuo Hyper Carry Team:

The standard Hyper Carry team for Huohuo generally consists of other Energy-based Supports as well like Robin, Sparkle, Jiaoqiu, or Sunday. Robin Huohuo Sunday is a very effective core for practically almost all Crit-based Hyper Carry units that use Energy.
Huohuo DoT Team:

Huohuo’s teamwide buffs (Energy and Attack) are extremely beneficial to the DoT team compared to any other sustainers as of the moment, making her the teammate of choice for the DoT team.
HSR Huohuo Pull Value and Conclusion
Sustains are always the lowest on the pulling priority as most accounts only need two good enough sustains for most of the contents in the game. Thus, sustainers often have to offer more than just their sustaining capability to make them stand out from the competition. In that sense, Huohuo does offer highly convincing arguments despite being a rather old unit. Most units have powerful effects locked behind their Ultimates, and Huohuo has a monopoly on teamwide energy batteries right now. Furthermore, she has quite possibly the strongest and most frequent cleansing capability out of all sustainers, a trait that has aged well due to the ramping up in bosses’ gimmicks in endgame content. Huohuo is quite economical as well since she does not need her Signature Light Cone at all to be great; her F2P Light Cone options are generally better in most circumstances, and are complete at E0.
All in all, Huohuo is a fantastic choice if anyone is looking for a sustainer that can offer both sustaining capacity and utility. She is worse than the specialized sustainer for certain niches such as Aventurine for the Follow-up team or Lingsha for the Break team, but she is more than capable of holding her own as a generic sustainer for the majority of archetypes in the game.
