Fugue, a shell of her past form Tingyun, is a Nihility Break support. What makes her special? She can afflict Exo Toughness on her enemies, equal to a percentage of the enemy’s Max Toughness. Exo Toughness has been seen in a previous MoC as a blessing, where once the enemies are broken there is a second layer that can be broken, leading to interesting mechanics for the break roster we have.
Fugue is an amazing support for all Break DPS, and will become a vital unit for all future break teams. Fugue will no doubt perform great in all endgame modes, since she supports a wide variety of break units that each have their specialty.
HSR Fugue Release Date
Fugue’s banner will be in the 2nd half of Version 2.7 releasing on December 25th, 2024 and will run until Jan 14th, 2025.
Fugue HSR Kit Review (Trace Level 10)
Fugue is a Nihility disguised as a Harmony for break units. Let’s find out why.
Skill Summary
A big portion of Fugue’s power budget is from her talent. Fugue’s talent provides Exo-Toughness, or “Cloudflame Luster” as it’s called here, when the initial Break bar is broken. This second Break bar is 40% of the original max toughness. When this toughness is broken, they take Break DMG again. Fugue’s talent also applies 1 instance of 100% Super Break DMG on the broken target. This debuff applies to all enemies on the field, and won’t expire unless she dies.
Fugue’s Skill gives an ally “Foxian Prayer”, and puts her into the “Torrid Scorch” state. Allies with Foxian Prayer get a 30% increase in Break Effect, and can reduce toughness on enemies without matching weakness by 50% of original toughness value for 3 turns. Fugue also has a 100% chance to reduce the enemy’s DEF by 18% whenever the ally with “Foxian Prayer” attacks. When Fugue is in the “Torrid Scorch” state, her basic attacks become a Blast, doing toughness damage to 3 targets. Fugue can change the ally with Foxian Prayer on her turn, so you can switch it up depending on who wants the buff.
Fugue’s Ultimate does AoE DMG and reduces toughness to all enemies regardless of weakness. If she breaks them, she’ll trigger the Fire Weakness Break Effect.
Her technique dazes the enemies, effectively stunning them in the overworld for 10 seconds. When entering battle, she action advances herself by 40% and applies the same DEF shred that her Skill does to all targets. This technique is really nice as it allows you to Skill your Ally early in the fight, without relying on Vonwacq.
Traces
Fugue’s first trace increases her Break Effect by 30% and recovers 1 Skill Point. Her second trace delays the enemies by 15% when their weakness is broken. This combined with Ruan Mei can delay the enemy till the next cycle, or you may not even see them move after you break them. Finally her last trace increases her teammates’ Break Effect by 6% (excluding her). If Fugue’s Break Effect is over 220%, the Break Effect increase goes up by an extra 12%, and can stack twice. This can give up to 36% Break Effect for her teammates!
Break Team Synergy
So what makes Fugue so good for Break? Fugue’s “Cloudflame Luster” introduces another Break bar, and break DPS want to break, essentially doubling the window to do damage.. That’s without considering other parts of her Kit. Fugue’s Skill and Ultimate being able to do toughness reduction on non-element is great, and she also gives 18% DEF shred! Don’t forget the Break Effect buffs and Super Break DMG she gives to her teammates too. The only reason she is considered Nihility is because her “Cloudflame Luster” is considered a debuff, but don’t be fooled! She did not forget her harmony roots from her past self.
HSR Fugue Talents
Fugue HSR Core Skills
Basic Attack – Radiant Streak
Deals Fire DMG equal to 100% of Fugue’s ATK to one designated enemy.
Basic Attack – Fiery Caress
Deals Fire DMG to one designated enemy and Fire DMG equal to 50% of Fugue’s ATK to adjacent targets.
Skill – Virtue Beckons Bliss
Grants one designated ally “Foxian Prayer”. Enters the “Torrid Scorch” state, lasting for 3 turn(s). The duration reduces by 1 at the start of Fugue’s every turn. “Foxian Prayer” only takes effect on the most recent target of Fugue’s Skill.
The ally target with “Foxian Prayer” increases their Break Effect by 30% and can also reduce Toughness even when attacking enemies that don’t have the corresponding Weakness Type, with the effect equivalent to 50% of the original Toughness Reduction value. This cannot stack with other Toughness Reduction effects that also ignore Weakness Type.
While in the “Torrid Scorch” state, Fugue enhances her Basic ATK. Every time an ally target with “Foxian Prayer” attacks, Fugue has a 100% base chance to reduce the attacked enemy target’s DEF by 18%, lasting for 2 turn(s).
Ultimate – Solar Splendor Shines Upon All
Deals Fire DMG equal to 200% of Fugue’s ATK to all enemies. This attack ignores Weakness Type to reduce all enemies’ Toughness. And when breaking Weakness, triggers the Fire Weakness Break effect.
Talent – Fortune Follows Where Virtue Spreads
While Fugue is on the field, enemy targets will get additionally afflicted with “Cloudflame Luster,” equal to 40% of their Max Toughness. When the initial Toughness is reduced to 0, “Cloudflame Luster” can be further reduced. When “Cloudflame Luster” is reduced to 0, the enemy will receive Weakness Break DMG again.
While Fugue is on the field and after allies attack Weakness Broken enemy targets, converts the Toughness Reduction of this attack into 1 instance of 100% Super Break DMG.
Technique – Percipient Shine
After using Technique, inflicts Daze on enemies within a certain area, lasting for 10 second(s). While Dazed, enemies will not actively attack ally targets.
After entering battle via actively attacking Dazed enemies, Fugue’s action advances by 40%, with a 100% base chance to inflict each enemy target with the same DEF Reduction state as that applied by Fugue’s Skill, lasting for 2 turn(s).
Fugue HSR Traces
Verdantia Renaissance
After the targets break weakness, additionally delays the action of the enemy target by 15%.
Sylvan Enigma
Increases this unit’s Break Effect by 30%.
Phecda Primordia
When an enemy target’s Weakness gets broken, increases teammates’ (i.e., excluding this unit) Break Effect by 6%. If Fugue’s Break Effect is 220% or higher, the Break Effect increase is boosted by an additional 12%, lasting for 2 turn(s). This effect can stack up to 2 time(s).
Fugue HSR Eidolons
E1 | Earthbound I was, Cloudward I Be: Ally target with “Foxian Prayer” increases their Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%. |
E2 | Beatitude Dawns for the Worthy: When an enemy target’s Weakness gets broken, Fugue regenerates 3 Energy. After using Ultimate, advances the action of all allies by 24%. |
E3 | Verity Weaves Thoughts to Blade: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10. |
E4 | Bereft of Form, Which Name to Bear: Ally target with “Foxian Prayer” increases their Break DMG by 20%. |
E5 | Colored Cloud Rains Fortune: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to maximum of Lv. 15. |
E6 | Clairvoyance of Boom and Doom: Increases Fugue’s Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%. While Fugue is in the “Torrid Scorch” state, “Foxian Prayer” takes effect on all allies. |
Eidolon Priority
Fugue’s E1 is one of the best Eidolons a break team can ask for. Weakness Break Efficiency benefits all break DPS, and increases Superbreak DMG as well. This is because Superbreak scales with how much Toughness you do, which E1 directly helps with. When stacked with Ruan Mei’s Skill, even the biggest toughness bars will be shredded quickly. Fugue’s E2 is also good, but situational. It is a godsend in PF due to the low toughness and 5T environment. When used together with IMC with DDD, they will be constantly action advancing the whole team since both get Energy from Weakness Break. The potential is less in MoC and AS, but that can change if more AoE enemies appear.
E4 increases Break DMG by 20% for the skilled Ally. Finally Fugue’s E6 lets the whole team be able to do colorless breaking, on top of the WBE gained from E1. It will essentially make everyone a DPS and be able to break enemies even easier than before.
Fugue’s E1 is a high priority for those that want to easily increase their Break team’s ceiling, and is heavily recommended over her Signature Light Cone for vertical investment.

Premium Options
Long Road Leads Home
Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100% . When an enemy target’s Weakness gets broken, there is a 100% base chance to inflict the “Charring” state on it, which increases its Break DMG taken by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30% , lasting for 2 turn(s). This effect can stack 2 time(s).
A really powerful lightcone, giving 36% Vulnerability for Break DMG, which is the highest just from a LC. Jiaoqiu’s LC, another strong one, provides 24% in comparison. Fugue’s Sig is just a straight DPS increase, so it’s nowhere near mandatory unless you want your team to do more damage. However her E1 is a better vertical, since Weakness Break Efficiency when stacked with say Ruan Mei is incredibly valuable as breaking the enemy faster is more advantageous than more damage.
Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat
When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already Ensnared, then there is a 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100% base chance to Ensnare the hit enemy. Ensnared enemies’ DEF decreases by 12% / 13% / 14% / 15% / 16% for 1 turn(s).
Fugue already provides DEF shred from her Skill, making Pearls go well together. Fugue also does not have very high Effect Hit Rate requirements compared to her other Nihility partners.
F2P Options
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts
Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. When the wearer attacks DEF-reduced enemies, regenerates 4/5/6/7/8 Energy.
Enemies should be DEF-reduced due to her Skill, letting her get more Energy. Tutorial can let Fugue get her Ultimate faster by a turn, however it doesn’t provide any amp otherwise.
Solitary Healing (PF)
Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 20.0% / 25.0% / 30.0% / 35.0% / 40.0% . When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases DoT dealt by the wearer by 24.0% / 30.0% / 36.0% / 42.0% / 48.0% , lasting for 2.0 turn(s). When a target enemy suffering from DoT imposed by the wearer is defeated, regenerates 4.0 / 4.5 / 5.0 / 5.5 / 6.0 Energy for the wearer.
Fugue does not have a DoT, but the Energy gain per defeated enemy can be useful for Pure Fiction to let her use Ultimate more often.
HSR Fugue Main Stats
- Body: Effect Hit Rate
- Feet: Speed
- Orb: HP% / DEF%
- Rope: Energy Regeneration Rate / Break Effect
Fugue is first and foremost, a support for break teams. She requires a minimum amount of Effect Hit Rate to land her debuffs, so Effect Hit Rate Chest should be used.
Fugue wants to be as fast as possible, so Speed boots are a must for her. For her Orb investing in bulk like HP% or DEF% is good, and the Rope should be Energy Regeneration Rate because her Ultimate cost is high (130) without any way to get extra Energy unless you get her second Eidolon. Alternatively you can opt for a Break Effect Rope if you want to reach 220% Break Effect easier to satisfy her trace requirement. Fugue will take 5 turns to get her Ultimate on BE Rope, compared to 4 on ERR Rope.
HSR Fugue Substats
- Speed
- Break Effect
- Effect Hit Rate
- Eff RES
Fugue should be built to be fast, but also be on the lookout for Break Effect and Effect Hit Rate. She’s not a DPS so her build is not a major priority compared to your main DPS. You only need 67% EHR to land your debuffs, and the rest should all be put into Speed and Break Effect substats.
Fugue has a trace where if she is over 220% Break Effect she gives extra Break Effect to her teammates. However this number is difficult to reach by herself or without her Sig, so utilize buffs such as IMC’s E4, Ruan Mei, and Watchmaker.
Speed Tuning
Fugue wants to be speedy, but there are no particular breakpoints for her. There is no benefit of a slow Fugue. Fugue can generate SP and will be mostly idle once she casts her Skill on an Ally anyways. Fugue generally wants to be faster than her break DPS, so she can contribute to toughness breaking as much from her Ultimate and Enhanced Basic ATK.
A speed of 160+ is a good benchmark, but it’s not hard to be faster than this since she gets 14 Speed for free from her minor nodes. There is always the standard 168 Speed on Eagle/184 Speed with a DDD user like IMC so that she can get 3 turns on the 2nd wave in the 1st cycle of MoC, but this requires high investment.
HSR Fugue Relics
Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
2-Pc: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
4-Pc: If the wearer’s Break Effect is 150% or higher, the Break DMG dealt to the enemy target ignores 10% of their DEF. If the wearer’s Break Effect is 250% or higher, the Super Break DMG dealt to the enemy target additionally ignores 15% of their DEF.
Iron Cavalry will help if you want to increase Fugue’s personal damage.
Eagle of Twilight
2 Pc: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.
4-Pc: When the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.
Can save Fugue’s Ultimate till the next wave and Action Advance herself ahead of a speedy DPS like Firefly so that she can do Toughness Damage before their turn comes to maximize Toughness Damage for the DPS.
Thief of Shooting Meteor
2 Pc: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
4-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 16%. After the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, regenerates 3 Energy.
Can be useful in Pure Fiction, where enemies will be broken constantly, letting Fugue get more Ultimates.
2Pc/2Pc Speed/Break
2-Pc: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
2-Pc: Increases Speed by 6%.
Alternatively you can opt for a variation of any 2Pc/2Pc combo of Speed and Break to increase her personal speed and play a more supportive role.
HSR Fugue Planar Sets
Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern
2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s SPD by 6%. When the wearer hits an enemy target that has Fire Weakness, the wearer’s Break Effect increases by 40%, lasting for 1 turn(s).
The increase in Speed and Break Effect is nice. With triple speed relic components you can get a very fast Fugue (170-180+) going for your team. Will also help a lot in reaching Fugue’s Break Effect trace threshold.
Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 16%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer’s Break Effect increases by an extra 20%.
A more universal planar compared to the former, not needing Fire Weakness to get the Break Effect. However you do lose out on the 6% increased SPD from Forge.
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5.0%. If the wearer is not the first character in the team lineup, then increases the ATK of the first character in the team lineup by 12.0%.
Supportive planar for the team. Break DPS are very receptive to ATK, making Lushaka a good choice.
HSR Fugue Teammates
Main DPS
Firefly
Firefly arguably benefits the least from Fugue compared to the other two break DPS, but that still doesn’t mean it’s an upgrade for her. Two break bars to proc and superbreak stacking from IMC, Fugue and Firefly can lead to some big nukes from her Skill. Firefly’s E2 can also trigger off of the “Cloudflame Luster” Break bar as well.
Boothill
Boothill very much appreciates the 50% toughness ignore that Fugue’s skill provides. Fugue’s colorless Break Ult also helps Boothill who only has a weakness implant on his Ultimate. Boothill on a low toughness enemy add can get up to 3 stacks of his Pocket Trickshot off from the 2 breaks he procs and the kill, significantly reducing his ramp up time. Boothill at full capacity with Fugue will obliterate bosses, becoming one of the strongest ST damage dealers.
Rappa
Rappa wants the enemies to be broken as many times as possible to get points for her Charge. Fortunately Fugue’s “Cloudflame Luster” toughness bar counts as another Break, which is a massive benefit for her. Fugue’s Skill and Ultimate for Rappa are also hugely beneficial, since Rappa doesn’t have a weakness implant herself compared to Boothill and Firefly.
Acheron
Acheron can use Fugue as a Nihility partner, but it’s not necessarily amazing. Fugue can skill another ally such as the sustain, and each move of that Ally will give Acheron 1 stack of “Slashed Dream”, since Fugue will apply a DEF shred debuff.
Himeko
Himeko can trigger the “Cloudflame Luster” Break Bar as well as the initial one to get stacks for her follow-up twice as fast.
Harmony/Nihility
Harmony Trailblazer
You may think Fugue is the replacement for Harmony Trailblazer, but the supports are interchangeable among the three, with varying performances depending on the stage. Fugue can skill HMC when off-element, and help chew through a large Toughness bar, since HMC’s Skill does a lot of Toughness Damage. Fugue and HMC’s Superbreak stacking can lead to some insane numbers for break DPS. Fugue’s Ultimate also is great for charging HMC’s Ultimate, due to the colorless Break it does.
Ruan Mei
Ruan Mei, our First Harmony, offers Weakness Break Efficiency, delay, RES PEN, speed, etc. Together with Fugue, Ruan Mei can break through any toughness bar so that our break DPS can dish out good damage and delay enemies to Narnia.
Sustain
Lingsha
Lingsha can be skilled by Fugue and provide a lot of AoE toughness reduction regardless of Element, especially noticeable if you have both Lingsha and Fugue’s E1.
Gallagher
Similar to Lingsha but more restricted. Gallagher can help with toughness reduction, a large part from his Enhanced Basic Attack after he Ults.
HSR Fugue Teams
Break Core
Break teams share mostly the same parts, except that Fugue is a direct upgrade in all teams. You can even run a sustainless team easier compared to other comps, since they will mostly stay broken and be delayed till the end of battle thanks to Ruan Mei and Fugue.
However the benefit Fugue provides for break DPS is not all equal. For E0 Firefly, you may be underwhelmed in the increase compared to the regular Ruan Mei-Trailblazer core unless you go sustainless. For E2 Firefly owners on the other hand, Fugue is very good, as her extra turn can also proc on the “Cloudflame Luster”.
Boothill benefits greatly from Fugue, as his ramp up is shortened. He also gets to nuke two Break bars consecutively, as he’s often played with an Action Advancer, dishing out incredible ST damage.
Rappa is the biggest winner here, as Rappa doesn’t care who breaks, as long as she gets her Charges. Fugue’s additional Break bar doubles the potential of Charges she can get, and her Skill also helps Rappa do toughness to off-element easier. Since Rappa doesn’t have an implant like FF/Boothill.
DPS Lingsha
Imaginary Trailblazer and Fugue’s Superbreaks are able to stack, and are absurdly powerful. This can lead to funny teams like this where a Healer can be played as a DPS where you’re basically playing a triple support team, capitalizing on Break’s sky-high floor.
Acheron Team w/ Fugue
This team is a sidegrade compared to say Pela, but Fugue skilling Aventurine or any other sustain to get Slashed Dream stacks whenever he attacks is like simulating Aventurine’s E2, which can be amusing to watch.
Himeko FUA Galore
Himeko will be launching her drone non-stop, capitalizing on her ability to chain FUAs due to Fugue’s “Cloudflame Luster” toughness bar also counting as a Break.
HSR Fugue Pull Value and Conclusion
Fugue’s pull value is straightforward. Do you play break and want to continue to play break? Then you should strongly consider pulling her. If you have no interest in break then there’s no reason to get Fugue. Fugue’s power budget is all dumped into her “Cloudflame Luster”, but it’s warranted since it’s so strong.
Fugue’s value also depends on what break DPS you have, and how much investment you’re willing to put into it. But there is no denying that Fugue is an upgrade for all break teams and will increase their power, no matter how you put it. However, a new region and meta is on the horizon, so it’s up to the players if they want to continually invest in Break or jump ship.
Players should also keep in mind Fugue can free up the Trailblazer for the upcoming Remembrance path, or allow you to field two break teams at once, bringing team flexibility.
