Anaxa is our very first Wind Erudition in the game. Anaxa is a peculiar Erudition compared to his peers that high AoE Damage characterizes. Thanks to the smart targeting of his skill, Anaxa is adept at fighting either a single enemy or a group of enemies. His versatility is unmatched compared to other recently released damage dealers, as he is potent in all three end-game modes and can function as both a hyper-carry and a sub-DPS for another Erudition.
HSR Anaxa Release Date
Anaxa’s banner will be in the second half of Version 3.2, releasing on April 30th, 2025 and will run until May 21th, 2025.
Anaxa HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)
Talents
Anaxa’s kit is centralized around his Talent. Every time Anaxa attacks an enemy once, he will implant a random weakness on the target that they do not already have, lasting for 3 turns. Enemies with 5 different weaknesses will automatically be inflicted with a state called “Qualitative Disclosure”.
Anaxa will deal an extra 30% damage against these enemies, and his Skill will automatically trigger whenever he uses basic attack or skill on enemies with “Qualitative Disclosure”. This automatic trigger does not consume any skill point and can only trigger once per basic attack or skill.
Anaxa’s Ultimate and Skill
Both Anaxa’s Ultimate and Skill complement and synergize well with his Talent. His Ultimate is an AoE attack that inflicts a unique status called “Sublimation” to all enemies, which lasts until their next action. Enemies with Sublimation are considered to have all 7 Elemental Weaknesses, and if they do not have Crowd Control Resistance, they will not be able to take action. The damage of this Ultimate is not potent, but it is quite impactful.
Inflicting all 7 Elemental Weaknesses allows Anaxa and his teammates to break any enemies regardless of their original Weaknesses, and the crowd control effect is great at keeping the team healthy throughout the battle. This Ultimate also lets Anaxa trigger his Talent before he can stack 5 Weaknesses with his Skill.
Anaxa’s Skill is a 5-hit Bounce attack that deals 70% of his Attack per hit, with each successive hit prioritizing an enemy that has not been hit yet. For each enemy target available to be attacked on the battlefield when the Skill is used, the Skill’s damage will be increased by 20%, capped at 100%. In a 5-target scenario, Anaxa will hit all 5 enemies, with each taking 1 hit. But in a 1-target scenario, all 5 hits will go onto those same enemies. With his talent taken into account, Anaxa essentially has a 140% Multiplier Value in a 5-targets scenario and a whopping 700% Multiplier Value against only 1 enemy in the field.
Traces
Anaxa’s most important trace is his second one. If there is only one Erudition unit in the party (Anaxa included), he will gain a whopping 140% Crit Damage. If there are more than 2 Erudition units in the party, this trace will instead increase all allies’ Damage by 50%. This trace ensures Anaxa can function as both the sole damage dealer in the team or play a more supportive role to another Erudition hyper-carry.
His first trace is an Energy-focused one, regenerating 10 additional Energy on his Basic Attack and regenerating 30 Energy at the start of his turn if there are no enemies with “Qualitative Disclosure” on the field. The first effect helps Anaxa’s rotation when he is used with a Skill-Point hungry Erudition Damage Dealer such as The Herta, where he would take a backseat and function more as a Sub-DPS / Stack Generator for her. The second effect is beneficial regardless of Anaxa’s role, helping him quickly set up his Ultimate.
His last trace is a straightforward Damage Boost, allowing him to ignore 4% of enemies’ Defense per Weaknesses they currently possess, capped at 28%.
Technique
Anaxa’s Technique will terrify all enemies within a certain range upon use. Attacking enemies with any ally will enter the battle, considered as entering battle by attacking the weakness of that ally. Upon entering battle, Anaxa will also apply 1 Weakness of the attacker’s type to every enemy for 3 turns, so it is highly recommended to attack with an ally that does not possess a type that matches the enemies’ weakness (i.e. using Ruan Mei to attack enemies that are not weak to Ice). In Apocalyptic Shadow, as all enemies have 4 Weaknesses by default, this will let Anaxa immediately reach the 5 Weaknesses threshold before even using his skill.
Overall
Anaxa’s strength is his versatility. His ability to implant a large number of Weaknesses makes him a stellar unit in Apocalyptic Shadow, where breaking is a centralizing mechanic. This mechanic ensures he stays useful regardless of enemies’ weaknesses by allowing the entire team to deplete their Toughness Bar. His Ultimate being a form of crowd control also helps alleviate pressure from the healer and shielder. In several cases, Anaxa’s team can function without a sustainer.
Anaxa is no slouch when it comes to damage output, either. In a Single Target fight, he is essentially a Hunt character with high damage output while remaining quite competitive in 5 Target scenarios. With his second trace, Anaxa is completely fine either on his own or as a support to units like The Herta. As a hyper-carry, Anaxa can match 3x Damage Dealers in damage output in his optimal team and even surpass them in many scenarios. As a Sub-DPS to The Herta, he is better than all current options in 1 and 3 Targets scenarios and can only be matched in 5 Target Scenarios by fellow Limited Erudition units like Jade or Argenti as a Stack generator, but has a higher damage ceiling.
Anaxa HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Pain, Brews Truth: Deals Wind Damage equal to 100% of Anaxa’s ATK to one designated enemy.

Skill – Fractal, Exiles Fallacy: Deals Wind Damage equal to 70% of Anaxa’s ATK to one designated enemy and additionally deals 4 instances of Damage. Each instance of Damage deals Wind Damage equal to 70% of Anaxa’s ATK to one random enemy, prioritizing Bouncing to enemy targets that have not been hit in this usage of Skill.
For each enemy target available to be attacked on the battlefield when the Skill is used increases Damage dealt by this Skill’s usage by 20%.

Ultimate – Sprouting Life Sculpts Earth: Inflicts the “Sublimation” state to all enemy units and immediately deals Wind Damage equal to 160% of Anaxa’s ATK to all enemy units.
In the “Sublimation” state, targets will be simultaneously inflicted with Physical, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Quantum, and Imaginary Weaknesses, lasting until the start of each target’s turn. If the targets do not have Control RES, they are unable to take action in “the Sublimation” state.

Talent – Tetrad Wisdom Reigns Thrice: Each time Anaxa attacks enemy targets 1 time, inflicts 1 random Weakness Type to the targets, lasting for 3 turns with priority to the Weakness Type that the target has yet to have.
While Anaxa is on the battlefield, it inflicts the “Qualitative Disclosure” state on enemy targets with at least 5 different Weaknesses. Anaxa deals 30% more Damage to targets in “Qualitative Disclosure” state. In addition, using a Basic ATK or Skill on targets in the “Qualitative Disclosure” state allows him to use another 1 instance of his Skill. This additional Skill does not consume any Skill Points and cannot trigger this effect again. If the target has been defeated before the additional Skill is used, it will be dealt to a random enemy unit.

Technique – Prism of the Pupil: Using the Technique will cause enemies in a set area to enter the Terrified state. Terrified enemies will flee in a direction away from Anaxa for 10 seconds. When ally enters battle via actively attacking a Terrified enemy, it will always be considered as entering battle via attacking a Weakness. After entering battle, Anaxa will apply 1 Weakness of the attacker’s Type to every enemy target after entering battle, lasting for 3 turns.
Anaxa HSR Traces

Roaming Signifier: When using Basic ATK, additionally regenerates 10 Energy.
At the start of the turn, if there are no enemy targets in the “Qualitative Disclosure” state, it immediately regenerates 30 Energy.

Imperative Hiatus: Trigger any 1 effect in the current battle based on the number of characters on the Path of Erudition in the team:
- 1: Increases Anaxa’s CRIT Damage by 140%.
- At least 2: Increases Damage dealt by all allies by 50%.

Qualitative Shift: For every different Weakness Type an enemy target has, the Damage that Anaxa deals to that target ignores 4% of DEF, up to a max of 7 Weakness Types.
Anaxa HSR Eidolons

- Magician, Isolated by Stars: After using Skill for the first time, recovers 1 Skill Point(s). When any enemy targets are hit by this unit’s Skill, decrease the targets’ DEF by 16% for 2 turns.
- Soul, True to History: When enemy targets enter the battle, trigger the Talent’s Weakness Implant effect 1 time and reduce their All-Type RES by 20%.
- Pupil, Etched into Cosmos: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
- Blaze, Plunged to Canyon: When using Skill, increases ATK by 30% for 2 turns. This effect can stack up to 2 times.
- Embryo, Set Beyond Vortex: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
- Everything Is in Everything: The Damage dealt by Anaxa is 130% of the original Damage. The 2 effects of the Trace “Imperative Hiatus” will be triggered directly and will no longer depend on the number of Erudition characters on the team.
Eidolon Priority
Anaxa has relatively low impact early Eidolons for a 3.x unit. His E1 is only around 10 – 13% improvement over E0 in a vacuum, but it does get somewhat better when stacking a lot of Defense Shred / Defense Ignore effects. The Skill Point recovery is also only 1 time. E2 is slightly better, netting around 15% in terms of damage improvement, but still nowhere near a sufficient improvement for the investment cost. His only great Eidolon is E6, but it is prohibitively expensive for a unit that is quite complete at the E0S1 level.
All in all, vertical investment is a notable weakness for Anaxa, as both his Eidolon and Light Cone are far from significant improvements. The best vertical investments for Anaxa would be Eidolons of his Support units (Robin, Tribbie) or The Herta.
- Eidolon 1: Low
- Eidolon 2: Medium
- Eidolon 4: Medium
- Eidolon 6: High

Premium Options

Life Should Be Cast to Flames: At the start of the wearer’s turn, regenerates 10 Energy. If the enemy target has a Weakness implanted by the wearer, it increases the wearer’s Damage dealt to it by 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100%.
When enemy targets are attacked by the wearer, the wearer decreases its DEF by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24% , lasting for 2 turns. The same types of effects cannot stack.
Anaxa’s Signature Light Cone is his Best-in-slot option, but not by a large margin compared to other recent units. This is partly because Anaxa has many good alternatives. Nonetheless, this Light Cone still gives a strong boost to his damage as well as rotation.

Into the Unreachable Veil: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12% / 14% / 16% / 18% / 20%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, it increases Damage dealt by the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate by 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100%, lasting for 3 turns. After the wearer uses their Ultimate, if this Ultimate consumes 140 or more Energy, he recovers 1 Skill Point.
This Light Cone is quite good on Anaxa since he has a 140 Energy Ultimate, meaning he can spam his Skill more often, especially when he is used with more Skill-Point-hungry units.
F2P Options

The Great Cosmic Enterprise: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16%. For every different Weakness Type an enemy target has, increases the Damage dealt by the wearer by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8% , up to a max of 7 Weakness Types.
This is Anaxa’s best Free-to-play option, as it should be available from an event in Patch 3.2. When used by Anaxa, it gives 56% Damage and 16% Attack, a sizable boost to his damage output.

Eternal Calculus: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 8% / 9% / 10% / 11% / 12%. After using an attack, each enemy target hit additionally increases ATK by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and last until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit’s SPD increases by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16%, lasting for 1 turn.
Eternal Calculus can be picked up from Herta’s shop and provides a great attack and speed boost to Anaxa, both stats he highly appreciates. It also has higher base stats than the other F2P options due to being a 5-star Light Cone.

The Seriousness of Breakfast: Increases the wearer’s damage by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. For every enemy defeated by the wearer, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8%, stacking up to 3 times.
A generically good F2P option that most Erudition units can use as a placeholder.
HSR Anaxa Main Stats
- Body: Crit Rate
- Feet: Speed / Attack
- Orb: Attack % > Wind Damage %
- Rope: Attack %
HSR Anaxa Sub Stats
- Crit Rate / Crit Damage
- Attack
- Speed
At his core, Anaxa is a damage dealer. Since he has a lot of crit damage from his second trace and his best teammates like Sunday or The Herta, crit rate is the best option for his chest piece. For Boot, Anaxa can run either attack or speed boot, depending on his role and team setups. Anaxa gets a lot of Damage % boost from his kits and Signature Light Cone, so Attack % should be prioritized for his Planar Sphere and Rope. For substats, Crit Rate, Attack, and Crit Damage should be the targets for maximum damage, while speed sub is helpful for a more speedy Anaxa build.
Main Stats Goal & Speedtuning:
- Goal: 134+ if going for speed boot.
Anaxa’s best hyper-carry setup is with Sunday, in which case he will want a -1 speed setup (preferably 134+ sSpeed, while Sunday has lower Speed than him). This is to ensure he gets 4 actions in the first cycle (or the initial 150 Action Value) in endgame contents. Since Anaxa does not have a high base speed, going for this setup means he must go with speed boost and some speed sub stats.
When used with The Herta, Anaxa can further tap into his high-frequency AoE attack to help generate more stacks for her. A 134+ Speed should also be the aim in this case.
HSR Anaxa Relics
Option A

Scholar Lost in Erudition
- 2-Pc: Increases CRIT Rate by 8%.
- 4-Pc: Increases Damage dealt by Skill and Ultimate by 20%. After using Ultimate, additionally increases the damage dealt by the next skill by 25%.
Anaxa benefits from all of the effects of this set. Furthermore, the extra Crit Rate helps build him easier.
Option B

Genius of Brilliant Stars
- 2-Pc: Increases Quantum Damage by 10%.
- 4-Pc: When the wearer deals Damage to the target enemy, ignores 10% DEF. If the target enemy has Quantum Weakness, the wearer additionally ignores 10% DEF.
Theoretically, this set should give Anaxa the highest damage output due to him having defense Ignore on both his trace and Signature Light Cone. If Anaxa is used as a hyper-carry with a crit rate booster like Sunday or Remembrance Trailblazer, then Genius is the best option.
Option C

Eagle of Twilight Line
- 2-Pc: Increases wind damage by 10%.
- 4-Pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is advanced forward by 25%.
A really good option for Sub-DPS Anaxa in The Herta team to maximize his number of actions. This set loses a lot of value when used as a hyper-carry with an action advance support like Sunday.
Option D

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
- 2-Pc: Increases damage dealt to enemies with debuffs by 12%.
- 4-Pc: Increases critrate by 4%. The wearer deals 8%/12% increased crit damage to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs. After the wearer inflicts a debuff on enemy targets, the aforementioned effects increase by 100%, lasting for 1 turn.
Since Anaxa’s unique statuses are considered debuffs, he can fully take advantage of the bonus of this set. It is not as powerful as the Scholar or the Genius set, but is a good alternative if players have a set with great substats.
HSR Anaxa Planar Sets

Rutilant Arena:
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT rate by 8%. When the wearer’s current CRIT rate reaches 70% or higher, Damage dealt by basic attack and skill increases by 20%.
Anaxa’s damage primarily comes from his skill, so Rutilant gives him the biggest damage boost out of all Planar options.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm:
- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When entering battle, if at least one teammate follows the same path as the wearer, then the wearer’s CRIT Rate increases by 12%.
Fantastic when used with The Herta since it gives both an attack boost, which he highly coveted, and a lot of crit rate.
HSR Anaxa Teammates
Anaxa is completely fine as both a hyper carry and a sub-DPS. His teammates will vary depending on the role that he plays.
Main DPS

The Herta: Anaxa is a monstrous teammate for The Herta. He can generate a large number of stacks for her, and both of them grant a large amount of damage boost to each other. Furthermore, since Anaxa specializes in single-target scenarios, he shores up the one area where The Herta is at her weakest. Last but not least, Anaxa’s Weakness implant mechanics allow The Herta team to function virtually everywhere and become significantly better in some Apocalyptic Shadow stages.
Sub DPS:

Jade: Jade can work as a Sub-DPS to Anaxa hyper-carry, improving the team AoE damage output while also providing good buffs to Anaxa himself.
Harmony/Nihility

Tribbie: Tribbie is the quintessential buffer for an AoE Dual DPS team. Anaxa – Tribbie – The Herta is an exceptionally potent team that synergizes well together, all boosting each other damage.

Robin: Robin gives a large amount of Attack buff, something Anaxa sorely lacks in his kit. Her teamwide buffs and extra action make her a fantastic Anaxa teammate in either a hyper-carry or dual DPS setup.

Sunday: Sunday is Anaxa’s best Support as a hyper carry. Sunday provides energy, extra action, and a large number of skill points for Anaxa to freely spam his Skill.

Remembrance Trailblazer: Remembrance Trailblazer is a great F2P Support with action advance and true damage buff; both are highly appreciated by Anaxa as a hyper carry. Furthermore, Remembrance Trailblazer’s technique can delay the enemy, which, when combined with Anaxa’s Ultimate, helps alleviate a lot of pressure from the sustaining unit.

Ruan Mei: Ruan Mei is a good teamwide buffer that can be slotted anywhere due to her versatile buffs. Ruan Mei also amplifies Anaxa’s weakness implant aspect by boosting the team’s Weakness break efficiency, making them a good duo in Apocalyptic Shadow.

Sparkle / Bronya / Pela: These units are all decent and splashable Support options for hyper-carry Anaxa. Sparkle can work with Attack boot Anaxa, serving as his speed boot while recovering a lot of skill points. Bronya is very SP-hungry, but she lets Anaxa deal a large burst of damage with her skill. Pela is generally SP positive, and the large def shred coming from her Ultimate synergizes well with Anaxa’s trace and Light Cone.
Sustain

Huohuo: Huohuo provides both energy and attack boost, two fantastic effects that Anaxa benefits from. Huohuo is also a great teammate to some of Anaxa’s best team options, like Sunday, Robin, and The Herta.

Gallagher: Gallagher is SP-positive and can provide Anaxa with energy via the Quid Pro Quo Light Cone. He also has good toughness damage and can benefit from Anaxa implanting Fire Weakness.
Lingsha: Lingsha generally synergizes with Anaxa’s teammates like Tribbie and The Herta rather than Anaxa himself, but she can also take advantage of Anaxa’s implanting Fire Weakness thanks to her great toughness damage.

HSR Anaxa Pull Value and Conclusion
Amongst all the damage dealers released in 3.x so far, Anaxa has the widest application. He is a rare breed of DPS that is great in all three endgame modes, even without heavily favourable environments, while also providing good utilities.
While he is far from a must-pull unit, Anaxa is valuable for two groups of players: The Herta players who want to bolster her team and players looking for damage dealers that are useful everywhere. Players who like The Herta team should try to get Anaxa as he is by far her best teammate option and raise her ceiling in situations where she may not be great.
However, if you already have Jade or Argenti and are low on resources, then Anaxa is not a compulsory pull. For people who are pulling Anaxa as a main damage dealer, it is worth noting that Anaxa does not have powerful early Eidolons for vertical investing. Still, at the E0S1 level, he is competitive with any 3.x main damage dealers one can get.
