The Fastest Leveling Routes in Diablo Season 6
Leveling fast—we love to see it, but real talk: just one moment. If this is your first time playing Diablo 4, close this article and play it through once without a guide. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice and robbing yourself of the experience for which you spent good money.
Now, for the rest of you, if you’ve done it once, you’ve done it a million times, right? So, how do you blast your way to the max level in a matter of hours?
The good news is I will share with you the most optimal way to level in the upcoming Vessel of Hatred / Season 6 expansion. And who am I? My name is Dalkora, and I’ve been one of the fastest solo levelers in the game in multiple seasons. Now that I managed to slide in my obligatory flex/brag into the article let’s get started!
How to Start
The first step is an obvious one: You’re going to want to make your Character. There are no right answers here, but if you do want to look cool, go for the Soldier’s Crop haircut and the Roving Outlaw Beard!
What is important is that you select to skip the OG campaign (If you can) and start in difficulty “Normal” which is were will stay until level 60! This is because the bulk of the XP rewards in Vessal of Hatred have been redistributed to be much more objective completing heavyheavy.
Once you’ve loaded in, you’ll be in Kyovoshad and ready to start the killing! The second step, then, is to get yourself over to the nearest Helltide and to start blasting! Now, depending on when you’re starting, you may or may not have people spawning in the Blood Maiden, which is that large event in the middle of the map. This grants a healthy amount of XP but more importantly, a bunch of strong equipment.
When no event is up, or you don’t have the hearts required to summon the blood maiden yourself, you want to keep busy killing demons and opening the mysterious chests around the hillside.
These chests will grant you large amounts of XP as well as gear. To open one, you’ll need 75 cinders, which you get from killing enemies. You can use your map to see the location of all of these chests for the Helltide you’re in.
Remember that Helltides is split into two sections, North and South, and you cannot see the chests for the section you’re not in.
Your goal for this leveling segment is to get to around level 20, you’re aiming for a couple of legendaries, OR, if you’re really lucky a unique, then you will move on to the next step right away, however, if the game decides it’s coal for Christmas well then, you may be waiting a little longer. It happens.
I like to set up this way as the following content has a whole bunch of tough bosses and encounters coming up and I like to set myself up to be strong enough to plow through them!
Town, Gear, and Consumables
Ideally as little as possible, leveling 1-20ish won’t net you that much equipment with the changes to drop rates in Vessal of Hatred so it shouldn’t be all that hard to wait for the five minutes of downtime between Helltides to jump back, salvage your junk, repair, make potions and get back to it!
Speaking of potions it is very much worthwhile to pick herbs while you’re in the Helltide, that way you’ll be able to create elixirs at the alchemist from level 10 that’ll give you a nice little boost to your character power and XP!
Also as you come across Tempers, you’ll also want to make sure to throw these onto you gear when you get a chance at a Blacksmith as Tempers can offer a tremendous amount of power to your character, making leveling significantly easier. If you’re uncertain as to which tempers as best check out our leveling builds here on Mobalytics.
Around this time is also perfect for quickly doing one of the new season mechanic events the Realm walkers, these drop powerful consumables that grant a chunky buff to the XP you gain.
Finally, a good rule of thumb to go by, especially in the earlier levels, is that “green arrow is good.” This means if an item has a higher Item power than the previous, it’s more than likely an upgrade, so you’re safe to slap it on.
However, as you move into the 40s & 50s, you’ll want to take more care in selecting your gear, making sure it has the right stats for your build.
Time For Some Hatred!
Here’s where things speed up due to some changes in XP distribution as I mentioned before, In Vessel of Hatred you receive massive amounts of XP as a reward for completing an objective. Examples of this would be:
- Handing in a quest
- Completing a whisper
- Finishing a dungeon
- Opening a Helltide chest
- Killing a stronghold boss for the first time.
In the past you more or less wanted to kill monsters as effeciently as you could but now it’s more about completing these objectives and luckily for us the new Campaign which we have to finish anyways is the best place to get your leveling done.
Coming into the campaign around level 20 should mean you’ll finish in and around level 50 leading straight into a post campaign quest chain called “Deeds of the Champion” following this chain along will introduce you to all the endgame systems unlocking them for you in the process, but the main attraction here is the butt ton of XP we get for completing these.
It’s not unlikely you’ll even be level 60 long before you even finish these deeds.
Don’t Forget Renown and Reputation
As you’re leveling it’s a good opportunity to finish up any Renown you have left to do, this will be valuable later on when you’re min-maxing your character. To track your renown open the world map by pressing “Shift” and then “W”.
Pay attention to the seasonal quest chain and associated reputation, as there are excellent rewards dished out by meeting fairly easy-to-hit goalposts. You should see a new icon on your map marking a new NPC in Zarbinet.
You’ll also have your season journey! You can open this by pressing “u”, by completing specific challenges you can earn very powerful gear which will help you level much faster!
And that’s all there is to it, hope you found this article useful, and thanks for reading, good luck in Sanctuary!
