Himeko • Nova HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

Talent & Assist Skill

Himeko Nova has a unique mechanic called Assist Skill. Upon entering battle, her Talent — Of Fire and Far Faring — will trigger and deploy the mecha Starblazer as a Territory, granting all allies 1 usage of her Assist Skill. The Assist Skill functions similarly to the interactive events that appear during major story or Echoes of War battles, which players can click to activate (such as calling the Engine of Creation while fighting Cocolia).

When the Assist Skill is used, Starblazer will attack enemies; this attack is considered as Himeko attacking (i.e., it uses Himeko’s stats for damage calculation) and counts as normal Skill Damage. Additionally, this Talent increases Himeko’s Crit Damage by 80% and All-Type Res Pen by 20%, and allows her attacks to reduce enemies’ Toughness regardless of type. If the Assist Skill is used by an ally rather than Himeko herself, that ally will regenerate 4 Energy.

Himeko can store up to 2 uses of her Assist Skill. She can replenish these uses via her Skill — Upraise the Vanward Cresset — which restores Assist Skill usage to 2, grants her a 3-turn buff that increases all allies’ Damage by 20%, and restores 1 Assist Skill usage at the start of each of Himeko’s turns.

The Assist Skill — Trailblaze, By Your Side — performs an AoE attack on all enemies, followed by 3 small Bounce attacks against random enemies. Using the Assist Skill consumes the user’s action; however, if the user is an Astral Express character (namely Trailblazer, Himeko, March 7th, Evernight, Dan Heng, Welt, Sunday, and any forms or alts of these characters), they will gain an extra turn, negating this downside and further incentivizing Himeko to be played alongside these characters.

If the Assist Skill is used by Himeko herself, the initial AoE hit deals increased damage and triggers 4 additional instances of Bounce damage. Additionally, this does not consume an Assist Skill usage. Himeko will also gain 5 Energy at the start of her turn if her current Assist Skill usage is at its maximum. It is therefore always recommended to use the Assist Skill during Himeko’s own turn for optimal damage output.

Depending on who last used the Assist Skill, Himeko will enter one of two modes: Verdict or Decimation. Verdict is triggered by any form of Trailblazer, Dan Heng, or Sunday, while Decimation is triggered by Welt, any form of March 7th, Himeko, or Evernight. Players can think of Verdict as the single-target-focused mode, while Decimation leans toward AoE.

  • While in Verdict Mode, Himeko increases her own Damage by 100% and her Ultimate Damage by a further 100%. After every two Ultimates from her teammates, Himeko will immediately launch a free Assist Skill against enemies.
  • While in Decimation Mode, Himeko increases all allies’ Crit Damage by 100% and further increases their Skill Crit Damage by an additional 100%. For every enemy hit by a teammate’s attack, she gains 1 Charge. Upon reaching 9 Charges, Himeko will immediately launch a free Assist Skill against enemies.

The progress toward Himeko’s free Assist Skill in both modes is tracked separately and will not reset when switching between modes, meaning Himeko can alternate between Verdict and Decimation in battle — provided she brings the right teammates. She can launch a maximum of two free Assist Skills regardless of mode, and this counter resets upon using her Ultimate.
Ultimate

Himeko’s Ultimate — We, Too, Stride the Stars — makes up the major portion of her damage output. Upon activation, Himeko takes control of the Starblazer, after which players can either use her enhanced Basic Attack, Hyperluminal Particle Beam — an AoE attack that generates 1 Source Energy — or spend 3 Source Energy to launch her Enhanced Skill, Orbital Annihilation Pulse, a massive Blast attack. Himeko can use her Enhanced Basic Attack up to 6 times, after which she will automatically launch an Enhanced Skill, followed by a Final Hit consisting of 3 Bounce instances of damage to random enemies, before exiting the Starblazer.

If Hyperluminal Particle Beam or Orbital Annihilation Pulse deals fatal damage to all enemies on the field, or if enemy HP can no longer be reduced, Himeko will immediately launch her Final Hit, preserving remaining Source Energy for the subsequent Ultimate. Her third Major Trace grants her 3 Source Energy instantly upon activating her Ultimate, and also increases her Enhanced Skill damage multiplier when Source Energy is at 3 or above.

While it may sound complex, Himeko’s rotation during her Ultimate follows a consistent pattern: Enhanced Skill ⟹ 3× Enhanced Basic Attack ⟹ Enhanced Skill ⟹ 3× Enhanced Basic Attack ⟹ Automatic Enhanced Skill & Final Hit

Technique

Himeko is another character with an instant-kill Technique. While she is on the team, she automatically increases the team’s maximum Technique Points by 3. Upon using her Technique, she enters a state called Cruise for 30 seconds, during which she can spend 2 Technique Points to instantly kill all normal enemies within range — combining the effects of Firefly’s and Phainon’s Techniques into one. If she enters battle via this Technique (against Bosses and Elites), she will automatically use her Skill at the start of each wave, making this a powerful Technique for both overworld exploration and combat.

Gameplay Evaluation

Overall, Himeko is a classic hypercarry unit released in an era where many characters are practically sold as bundles. Her multiplier values are exceptionally high, complemented by a generous amount of self-buffs, and despite how wordy her kit may appear, she is very easy to use in practice with F2P-friendly teammates to great effect. To maximize her damage, players should remember to use her Assist Skill during her own turn and during Astral Express members’ turns, and have a general sense of how her two modes behave.

She also has a high skill ceiling that rewards players who can optimize her two modes for different encounters, whether by adapting to varying team compositions or alternating between modes mid-combat. That said, she remains no less powerful for players who prefer to stick with just one mode throughout a fight.

In general, Himeko should have at least one — preferably two — Astral Express members alongside her to fully leverage her Assist Skill mechanic and quickly charge her Ultimate. This makes Himeko an excellent option for newer players looking for an exceptional Damage Dealer who remains strong throughout the game, as some of her best teammates — such as Welt, Remembrance Trailblazer, or Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae — are essentially free. Even with a limited pool of optimal teammates, Himeko delivers highly competitive damage output, surpassing many meta compositions at the time of her release, and can deplete enemy Toughness regardless of element.

Himeko • Nova HSR Traces

Whither, the Last and First Men

Whither, the Last and First Men?: When Himeko • Nova uses her Assist Skill, it does not consume Assist Skill uses. At the start of the turn, if the current Assist Skill uses equal the current maximum limit, Himeko • Nova additionally regenerates 5 Energy.

Hark! The Express's Pulse Roars

Hark! The Express’s Pulse Roars: When a Trailblaze Companions character other than Himeko • Nova uses an Assist Skill, that character immediately gains 1 extra turn during which they can use their Ultimate. An extra turn gained from an Assist Skill will not repeatedly trigger this Trace effect.

The Silver Rail, Hushed in Antiquity

The Silver Rail, Hushed in Antiquity: When using Ultimate, immediately gains 3 point(s) of “Source Energy.” If current “Source Energy” is 3 point(s) or more, when using the “Orbital Annihilation Pulse” attack, the DMG multiplier of “Orbital Annihilation Pulse” against random single enemies increases by 30%.

Himeko • Nova HSR Eidolons

Himeko eidolons

  2. The Colors We Never Strike: Max uses of Himeko • Nova’s Assist Skill increase to 2, and DMG dealt by Ultimate and Assist Skill becomes 130% of their original DMG. At the start of each turn in the “Navigator’s Semaphore” state, immediately recovers 1 extra Assist Skill use. Trace “Hark! When launching a “Hyperluminal Particle Beam” attack during Ultimate, additionally gains 1 point of “Source Energy”. When launching “Orbital Annihilation Pulse,” if the current “Source Energy” is 6 point(s) or more, additionally deals Fire DMG equal to 160% of Himeko • Nova’s ATK to all enemies 1 time.

Eidolon Priority

Himeko Nova has exceptional power packed into her Eidolons, compensating for her relative lack of strong, dedicated teammates compared to some modern team archetypes like Remembrance and Elation.

E1 is a monstrous buff to her Assist Skill overall. This Eidolon increases the free Assist Skill limit from her two modes by 1 (from 2 to 3), further reduces the requirements to trigger it in both modes (now requiring only 1 Ultimate in Verdict or 6 Charges in Decimation), and adds 1 additional damage instance to her Assist Skill when launched by Himeko herself.

E2 is no less impressive, raising the maximum Assist Skill count from 2 to 4 and effectively granting all of her Assist Skills and Ultimates 30% more damage (undiluted). She will also now recover 2 Assist Skill uses at the start of every turn instead of 1 while under her Skill’s effect.

Finally, this Eidolon allows non-Astral Express teammates to retain their turns when using her Assist Skill, significantly easing her teambuilding requirements and letting her pair freely with powerful Supports like Mortenax Blade or Tribbie without disrupting her rotation.

E4 grants her an additional 10% All-Type Res Pen and extends her Talent’s 20% All-Type Res Pen to her teammates as well. A useful Eidolon, though not a particularly outstanding one.

E6 is another massive leap in Himeko’s overall capability, offering a wide range of improvements:

  • Further increases her All-Type Res Pen by 20%
  • Increases her maximum Source Energy by 6
  • Grants her 1 Source Energy whenever a teammate triggers an Assist Skill
  • Increases her Assist Skill damage multiplier
  • Increases the Source Energy generated by her Enhanced Basic Attack by 1 (from 1 to 2)
  • If she uses her Enhanced Skill while Source Energy is at 6 or above, she deals an additional AoE damage instance

Overall, E6 is an exceptional Eidolon and among the strongest Damage Dealer Eidolons in the game.

For players looking to invest in Himeko Nova, prioritize her Signature Light Cone first, then aim for E2. Both E1 and E2 are fantastic individually, so reaching only E1 is far from a loss if E2 is out of reach during her first banner. In the long run, E6 is a worthy goal for dedicated players, as she lacks many Limited Supports that offer a comparable power increase.

A Star That Lights the Night

A Star That Lights the Night: The wearer ignores 32% of the target’s DEF when dealing DMG. When the wearer uses an Assist Skill, they regenerate 6 Energy and gain “Sail,” lasting for 2 turns and stacking up to 3 time(s). Each stack of “Sail” increases Assist Skill DMG by 20%. When “Sail” reaches 3 stacks, each stack of “Sail” increases Ultimate DMG by 20%.

Himeko Nova’s Signature Light Cone is one of the strongest Damage Dealer Signature Light Cones in the game, providing a significant boost to both damage and Energy generation. It should be the top priority for every Himeko player, as no other Light Cone comes close to the level of improvement it offers.

Into the Unreachable Veil

Into the Unreachable Veil: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Skill DMG and Ultimate DMG dealt by 60%, lasting for 3 turn(s). After the wearer uses their Ultimate, if this Ultimate consumed 140 or more Energy, recovers 1 Skill Point.

Himeko’s maximum Energy is 150, allowing her to fully leverage this Light Cone’s effects. The raw stats it provides are also quite significant: 12% Crit Rate and effectively a 60% damage increase to her Ultimate and Skill.

F2P Options

Eternal Calculus

Eternal Calculus: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 8%. After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 4%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and last until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit’s SPD increases by 8%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

A solid alternative for Himeko that provides respectable boosts. Players can obtain this from Herta’s Shop and use it until they acquire her Signature Light Cone.

The Seriousness of Breakfast

The Seriousness of Breakfast: Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12%. For every enemy defeated by the wearer, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4%, stacking up to 3 times.

Another good placeholder options that player can get from the Memory of Chaos shop, which is a lot less prohibitive than Herta’s shop.

HSR Himeko • Nova Main Stats

  • Body: Crit Rate >> Crit Damage
  • Feet: Attack% >> Speed
  • Orb: Fire Damage / Attack%
  • Rope: Attack% > Energy Regeneration Rate%

Himeko is relatively straightforward to build, as she fits squarely into the hypercarry mold. For her Body piece, Crit Rate is optimal, since she already gains a large amount of Crit Damage from her kit and teammates.

For her Boots, ATK% is generally the better choice, as she can be played alongside action-advance Supports such as Remembrance Trailblazer or Sparkle, and her kit provides no ATK boost of its own. Speed Boots are acceptable in certain specific setups.

For her Orb, both Fire DMG% and ATK% are viable options for maximizing damage output.

Himeko primarily generates Energy through teammates triggering her Assist Skill, which is unaffected by Energy Regeneration Rate%, making ATK% the preferred choice for her Rope.

An ERR% Rope is acceptable if players can supply her with a large amount of external ATK buffs, such as when paired with units like Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae, Sparkle, Cerydra, and/or Robin.

HSR Himeko • Nova Sub Stats

  • Crit Rate
  • Crit Damage
  • Attack% / Speed

Prioritize Crit Rate until reaching 100% in combat, then shift focus toward Crit Damage and Attack%. A few Speed substats to hit certain breakpoints when running Speed Boots — such as 134 Speed — are also recommended.

  • 2-Pc: Increases ATK by 12%.
  • 4-Pc: When the wearer enters combat or uses Skill, the DMG dealt by their Skill and Ultimate increases by 18%, stacking up to 3 times. At the start of the wearer’s turn or after using Ultimate, removes 1 stack(s) of this effect.

This set is tailor-made for Himeko and should be farmed by every Himeko player. Other sets remain viable alternatives, but none will match the damage boost this set provides.

Option B

Wavestrider Captain

Wavestrider Captain

  • 2-Pc: Increases CRIT DMG by 16%.
  • 4-Pc: When the wearer becomes the target of another ally’s target ability, gains 1 stack of “Help,” stacking up to 2 times. If there are 2 stack(s) of “Help” when the wearer uses their Ultimate, consume all “Help” to increase the wearer’s ATK by 48% for 1 turn(s).

A solid set that provides a substantial amount of buffs, provided Himeko is paired with Supports that target her directly, such as Sparkle, Sunday, or Remembrance Trailblazer.

HSR Himeko • Nova Planar Sets

Option A

Fallen Star Anchorage

Fallen Star Anchorage

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. When entering combat, if the wearer and another teammate are both Trailblaze Companions characters, increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 32%.

This set is another tailor-made option for Himeko, granting a substantial 48% Crit Value permanently — a natural fit given that Himeko already wants Astral Express characters on her team anyway

Option B

The Wondrous BananAmusement Park

The Wondrous BananAmusement Park

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 16%. When a target summoned by the wearer is on the field, CRIT DMG additionally increases by 32%.

One of Himeko’s best teammates is Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae, who triggers this set and allows Himeko to maintain its 48% Crit Damage boost permanently.

HSR Himeko • Nova Teammates

Himeko must use at least one Astral Express member to trigger one of her two modes for her powerful self-buff. Beyond that, Himeko can play with most standard hypercarry support units.

Astral Express Members

welt

Welt: Following his Novaflare update, Welt is a powerful amplifier who can also serve as a pseudo-sustain, particularly at E4, which a sizable portion of the playerbase should already have.

Welt is easily the best Support option for Himeko when looking to trigger Decimation mode, as his spammable Ultimate and Skill can hit a large number of enemies with ease, while also providing strong damage amplification. You said: Himeko must use at least one Astral Express member to trigger one of her two modes for her powerful self-buff.

remembrance-trailblazer-rmc-f

Remembrance Trailblazer: Remembrance Trailblazer is Himeko’s best Verdict mode teammate, providing action advance and a powerful True Damage boost.

sunday

Sunday: Sunday is another unit who doubles as both an Astral Express character and a hypercarry Support, providing strong single-target buffs, action advance, and Energy generation while triggering Verdict mode for Himeko. You said: DHPT is one of Himeko’s best sustain, being both an Astral Express character that can trigger Verdict Mode and also provides solid attack boost.

dan heng

Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae: DHPT is one of Himeko’s best sustain, being both an Astral Express character that can trigger Verdict Mode and also provides solid attack boost.

Amplifiers

Mortenax Blade

Mortenax Blade: Mortenax Blade is one of the strongest amplifiers in the game, bringing a range of rare and powerful debuffs that Himeko can take full advantage of. Himeko’s frequent attacks through her Assist Skills also allow her to charge Mortenax Blade’s stacks reasonably quickly.

tribbie

Tribbie: Tribbie is the prime support for AoE characters like Himeko, especially if she is at E1.

Sparkle, Cerydra, Robin

Hypercarry Supports – Sparkle / Cerydra / Robin: Himeko can make use of most hypercarry Supports such as Sparkle, Robin, or Cerydra. Both Sparkle and Robin provide action advance and strong damage amplification, while Cerydra can copy Himeko’s Assist Skill via her Coup de Main effect, as the Assist Skill counts as a normal Skill.

Sustain

HSR Portrait Huohuo

Huohuo: Huohuo is another sustain option that brings solid value to Himeko. Given Himeko’s fairly high Energy cost Ultimate, Huohuo can help charge it through her own Ultimate, while also providing reliable sustain and a teamwide ATK boost.

HSR Himeko • Nova Sample Teams

HSR Himeko Nova Sample Teams

HSR Himeko • Nova Pull Value and Conclusion

At the time of her launch banner, Himeko Nova is easily among the very best Damage Dealers in the game. She draws strong parallels to Phainon in patch 3.4 in the sense that she can perform exceptionally well with free-to-play Supports while packing absurd power at higher Eidolon levels, raising the bar for what it means to be a hypercarry in every sense of the word.

Himeko is especially valuable for players returning from a long break or just starting out, as she synergizes naturally with Astral Express characters — a collection of units most players will have access to very early in their Trailblaze journey — and remains highly competitive in endgame content even without limited Supports.

Furthermore, players do not need to invest in additional limited units to keep her relevant, unlike archetype-dependent teams such as DoT, Break, Remembrance, or Elation, which require multiple specific units before delivering a meaningful return on investment.

All in all, players who are looking for a meta team with only 2 – 4 Limited pulls that can get going immediately should highly consider Himeko.
