Bronya: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More
Bronya is one of the seven Standard 5-star units in the game and is always available from all banners. The OG Turn Advancer Support, Bronya has stood the test of time, managed to stay relevant throughout, and cemented herself as the best out of the Standard units since Day 1.
Bronya HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)
The centralizing piece of Bronya’s skillset is her Skill – Combat Redeployment. Upon use, Bronya will Action Advance an ally by 100%, grant them a massive damage buff for 1 turn, and dispel a debuff from them. It is quite simple in operation, but impactful when paired with any Damage Dealers that appreciate an extra turn.
The rest of Bronya’s kits are all straightforward effects that bolster her identity as an amplifier for the team, as with most of the Year 1 units. Her Ultimate – The Belobog March is a team-wide buff that increases all teammates’ Attack and Crit Damage, with the latter scaling off her own Crit Damage stats. Her second major trace – Battlefield and third major trace – Military Might are both passive team buffs as well, with Battlefield increasing every teammate’s Defense by 20% upon entering battle, while Military Might raises their damage output by 10% as long as Bronya is on the field. Bronya’s Technique is another teamwide Attack buff for 2 turns upon entering battle, rounding off her amplifier identity.
Bronya’s Talent will advance her forward by a fixed amount if she uses her basic attack instead of her Skill. While this does not come up very often, as Bronya wants to use her Skill as often as possible to facilitate her teammate, there are certain setups where Bronya can afford to weave in a basic attack to generate Skill Points in between her Skill usage.
Her first major trace – Command increases her Crit Rate by 100%, which is practically irrelevant since her damage is very negligible even when built for it.
All in all, Bronya’s kit is simplistic, but effective. In general, she wants to pair with a Damage Dealer that is just slightly faster than her, so that she can immediately advance them forward after they already move, essentially doubling her turns. This setup is generally known as a “-1” setup where the Bronya is ideally 1 Speed lower than this Damage Dealer. Due to how effective this is in a turn-based game, as the turn Bronya gives to the Damage Dealer does more damage than their turns due to Bronya’s buff, she has managed to stay highly relevant as more Damage Dealers are added into the game.
The downside of this playstyle is that it is extremely SP-intensive, since most hypercarry damage dealers want to use their Skill, and Bronya also needs Skill Points to maximize her strength. This is Bronya’s biggest weakness and her most limiting factor to an otherwise powerful skillset.
Bronya HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Windrider Bullet: Deals Wind DMG equal to 100% of Bronya’s ATK to a single enemy.

Skill – Combat Redeployment: Dispels a debuff from a single ally, allows them to immediately take action, and increases their DMG by 66% for 1 turn(s).
When this Skill is used on Bronya herself, she cannot immediately take action again.

Ultimate – The Belobog March: Increases the ATK of all allies by 55%, and increases their CRIT DMG equal to 16% of Bronya’s CRIT DMG plus 20% for 2 turn(s).

Talent – Leading the Way: After using her Basic ATK, Bronya’s next action will be Advanced Forward by 30%.

Technique – Banner of Command: After using Bronya’s Technique, at the start of the next battle, all allies’ ATK increases by 15% for 2 turn(s).
Bronya HSR Traces

Command: The CRIT Rate for Basic ATK increases to 100%.

Battlefield: At the start of the battle, all allies’ DEF increases by 20% for 2 turn(s).

Military Might: When Bronya is on the field, all allies deal 10% more DMG.
Bronya HSR Eidolons

- Hone Your Strength: When using Skill, there is a 50% fixed chance of recovering 1 Skill Point. This effect has a 1-turn cooldown.
- Quick March: When using Skill, the target ally’s SPD increases by 30% after taking action, lasting for 1 turn.
- Bombardment: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
- Take by Surprise: After any other ally character uses Basic ATK on an enemy target that has Wind Weakness, Bronya immediately launches 1 instance of Follow-up ATK, dealing Wind DMG to this target equal to 80% of her Basic ATK DMG. This effect can only trigger once per turn.
- Unstoppable: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
- Piercing Rainbow: The duration of the DMG Boost effect placed by the Skill on the target ally increases by 1 turn(s).
Eidolon Priority
For a launch unit, Bronya’s Eidolons has maintained its value well. Being a standard unit, there are plenty of opportunities for an average account to end up with a few Bronya copies over time.
Her best two Eidolons are E1, which improves her Skill Point economy. Her second Eidolon increases the speed of the unit that she uses her skill on, which is relevant in some setups but finicky to build around. Her E4 lets her launch a follow-up attack when an ally attacks an enemy with Wind Weakness once per Bronya’s turn. This is practically irrelevant to most Damage Dealers, except for a few special cases such as Feixiao or Anaxa, and can give her enough Energy for an early Ultimate. Her best Eidolon is E6. It extends the buff from her Skill to 2 turns, which massively improves her amplifying capacity.
- Eidolon 1: High
- Eidolon 2: Medium
- Eidolon 4: Very Low
- Eidolon 6: Very High

Premium Options

A Grounded Ascent: After the wearer uses Skill or Ultimate on one ally character, the wearer regenerates 6/6.5/7/7.5/8 Energy and the ability’s target receives 1 stack of “Hymn” for 3 turns, stacking up to 3 times. Each stack of “Hymn” increases its holder’s Damage dealt by 15%/17.25%/19.5%/21.75%/24%. After every 2 instances of Skill or Ultimate the wearer uses on one ally character, recovers 1 Skill Point.
Sunday’s Signature Light Cone is perfect for Bronya. It gives her Energy, Damage boost to the teammates, and most importantly, refunds a Skill Point for every 2 instances of her Skill.

Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds: At the start of the battle and whenever the wearer’s turn begins, one of the following effects is applied randomly: All allies’ Attack increases by 10%/12.5%/15%/17.5%/20%, all allies’ Crit Damage increases by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%, or all allies’ Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 6%/7.5%/9%/10.5%/12%. The applied effect cannot be identical to the last effect applied, and will replace the previous effect. The applied effect will be removed when the wearer has been knocked down. Effects of the same type cannot be stacked.
A good generic Light Cone that many Harmony units can use since it gives widely applicable buffs to the entire team, albeit a bit random.
F2P Options

But the Battle Isn’t Over: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 10%/12%/14%/16%/18% and regenerates 1 Skill Point when the wearer uses their Ultimate on a Party character. This effect can be triggered once after every 2 uses of the wearer’s Ultimate. When the wearer uses their Skill, the next Party unit taking action (except the wearer) deals 30%/35%/40%/45%/50% more Damage for 1 turn.
But The Battle Isn’t Over has perfect synergy with Bronya’s kit, giving her Energy Regeneration, Skill Point Refund, and another massive damage boost to the ally that she casts her Skill on. It is always available in the shop and is worth picking up if the players can spare their resources and have no good alternative for Bronya.

Dance! Dance! Dance!: When the wearer uses their Ultimate, all allies’ actions are Advanced Forward by 16%/18%/20%/22%/24%.
As always, Dance Dance Dance is a potent option for any Harmony units to reduce the Action Value spent of the entire team, especially in modes like Apocalyptic Shadow.

Past and Future: When the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action (except the wearer) deals 16%/20%/24%/28%/32% increased Damage for 1 turn.
Past and Future is the free version of But the Battle Isn’t Over. Similarly, this Light Cone’s damage boost only lasts 1 turn, so it is suitable when paired with DPS that can burst on the turn they get Action Advanced by Bronya.
HSR Bronya Main Stats
- Body: HP%/Def% > Crit Damage%
- Feet: Speed
- Orb: HP%/Def%
- Rope: Energy Regeneration Rope
Bronya’s buff on her Ultimate scales off her Critical Damage, but the scaling is quite mediocre, so a defensive stat such as HP or Defense is recommended. This should also be the priority for her Orb as bulk on Support units are quite handy in general.
For boot, she should go for a Speed boot. The general Bronya’s setup will have her at 133.4 Speed, or for better visual, 134 Speed on the stats screen. This Speed is ideal since it gives her 2 turns in the first 0 cycle/or the first 150 Action Value, and also quite easy to achieve for most Damage Dealers who want to pair with her.
For Rope, she should go for Energy Regeneration Rope to ensure she can get as many Ultimate off as possible, as oftentimes Harmony units’ Ultimate can contribute a lot more to the team than just their effects, thanks to the powerful Light Cones they can carry.
HSR Bronya Sub Stats
- Speed
- HP/Def
- Effect Res/Crit Damage
Bronya should prioritize Speed first to reach 134 Speed, and then spend the rest of the substats on bulk stats like HP, Defense, or Effect Res. Crit Damage is acceptable as substats even with its low scaling.
Speedtuning:
- Goal: 134+ Speed for -1 Build
1 build (or 134+ Speed and slower than the main DPS). Bronya is the standard build that works with most DPS and is also easy to achieve, but it does require her Damage Dealer partner to also build Speed.
She can go for a hyperspeed build, which allows her to weave one auto-attack here and there, but this requires a very high investment of stamina for good relics, as well as specific speed tuning with the Damage Dealer, so it is not recommended for casual play.
HSR Bronya Relics
Option A
Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal

- 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%.
- 4-Pc: When using Skill or Ultimate on one ally target, increases the ability target’s Crit Damage by 18%, lasting for 2 turns. This effect can stack up to 2 times.
This set is Bronya’s best-in-slot, as it gives both her a Speed boost and further amplify her buffing power via its 4-Pc bonus.
Option B
Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

- 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%.
- 4-Pc: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn. This effect cannot be stacked.
This set is a good option since the Speed boost is always appreciated, while the teamwide Speed buff can help out other support units on the team.
Option C
2+2 Pieces

This combination is solely to get 12% Speed from the two sets together, and maybe utilize high pieces with speed subs from farming both caverns.
HSR Bronya Planar Sets
Outside of these options, Bronya can also use most of the other support planar sets like Fleet, Penacony, Vonwaq, or Kalpagni. Their usage depends heavily on the situations and purpose of the players.
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas

- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. If the wearer is not the first character in the team lineup, then increases the Attack of the first character in the team lineup by 12%.
This set is the best generalist option for Bronya, as it both grants her valuable Energy Regeneration boost and an Attack boost to the main Damage Dealer in the team at the same time.
Broken Keel

- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 10%. When the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ Crit Damage increases by 10%.
This set further amplifies her Crit Damage buffing skill, and Effect Res is quite valuable on her since she can cleanse other allies with her Skill when fighting enemies with a lot of Crowd Control effects and debuffs.
HSR Bronya Teammates
Bronya works best with most Crit-based Damage Dealers, though she works particularly well with Damage Dealers that can take great advantage of the extra turn, or have a massive burst turn where they can unleash their primary damage source. She is quite SP-intensive, so it is always a notable consideration when slotting her into any team.
Main DPS

Phainon: Phainon is one of Bronya’s best teammates since advancing him and buffing him, which allows him to accumulate Coreflame stacks quickly.

Feixiao: Feixiao appreciates the extra turn to accumulate her Flying Aureus stacks, but can also unleash up to 2 Ultimates on the same turn that Bronya advances her. An E4 Bronya, which is applicable for some long-time players, can also generate an extra stack for Feixiao via her follow-up attack.

Jingliu: Jingliu is one of the best Bronya users as she is a lot less SP-intensive than most Damage Dealers, especially while transformed. Jingliu’s primary damage source is also her Skill, which means she makes fantastic usage out of the extra turns that Bronya grants her.

Aglaea: While not as potent as Sunday, Bronya is a fantastic partner for Aglaea since Aglaea’s team always overflows with excess Skill Points, and Aglaea loves having extra turns during her Supreme Stance.

Blade: Blade is very similar to Jingliu in that he is much less SP-intensive than most Damage Dealers, and does most of his damage via spamming his Enhanced Basic Attacks on his turns.

Boothill: Boothill is one of the best users of Bronya, especially for fast clearing, as she allows him to Break much quicker and set up massive burst turns.

Anaxa: Anaxa’s primary damage output is from his double Skills; as such, he highly appreciates the extra turns provided. Anaxa can be played SP-positively or SP-neutral, allowing him to utilise Bronya if the player does not have Sunday.

Seele: Seele Bronya was a classic combo since launch that still holds up even today. Seele has massive burst turns due to her Resurgence mechanics and loves extra actions to chain kills.
Harmony/Nihility

Robin: Robin and Bronya have very good synergy. Robin often struggles to get enough Energy for an early Ultimate, so one of the popular strategies is to have Bronya advance Robin back up to generate Energy and quickly enter her Concerto state. Since Robin does not move during her Concerto state, Bronya can sometimes use her Skill on Robin to boost the additional damage that Robin deals for the entirety of Concerto.
Sustain

Luocha/Gallagher: Luocha and Gallagher are extremely SP-positive as sustain units, which gives Bronya a significant amount of Skill Points to work with.
HSR Bronya Teams:
Since Bronya can work in a vast number of teams, we only list some of her most notable teams.

HSR Bronya Value and Conclusion
Despite being a launch and Standard unit, Bronya has stood the test of time and keeps finding usage with modern Damage Dealers. While there are stronger Action Advance Supports now, such as Sunday and Remembrance Trailblazer, Bronya is still quite valuable for almost all accounts and should be raised to a usable level. She can be chosen for free from the 300 pulls reward in the Standard Banner or via some other forms of free 5-star giveaway that the game offers at various times, and is by far the best option to pick out of all Standard units.
