Fu Xuan: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More
Fu Xuan is the first limited Quantum Preservation character released in HSR. She redirects a portion of damage her team takes to herself, making her team difficult to kill. She has fallen behind compared to other premium sustains in terms of utility and damage, but is still capable of sustaining most teams.
HSR Fu Xuan Release Date
Fu Xuan can be selected as one of the options in the Celestial invitation since Patch 3.2.
Fu Xuan HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)
Skill and Ultimate:
Fu Xuan’s Skill activates Matrix of Prescience, which redistributes 65% of the team’s damage taken to Fu Xuan for 3 turns. In addition, allies gain the “Knowledge” effect, giving 10% CRIT Rate and 6% increased Max HP.
Fu’s Ultimate does 100% Quantum DMG of her Max HP and gives her 1 count of her Talent. More on that below.
Talent and Technique:
Fu Xuan has 2 trigger counts that she can obtain from her Ultimate. When her HP drops below 50%, she will restore 90% of her HP and use one trigger count. The Talent also lets allies receive 18% less DMG from enemies.
Her Technique in the overworld creates a barrier that blocks all enemy attacks and prevents them from starting a battle for 20 seconds. Upon combat, Fu Xuan activates the Matrix of Prescience automatically for 2 turn(s).
Traces:
- A2: Fu Xuan generates 20 more Energy when she uses Skill under the Matrix of Prescience. This helps with getting her Ultimate up more often.
- A4: When Fu Xuan uses her Ultimate, she heals the team by 5% of her Max HP plus 133. Helps a bit with sustaining the chip damage the team receives.
- A6: Under the Matrix of Prescience, Fu Xuan’s team can resist one CC. Can reset the effect by Skilling again. Quite useful as hard CC either needs to be cleansed or resisted, yet Fu has a guaranteed CC res.
Playstyle: Fu Xuan wants to always have her Matrix up, so that she can mitigate damage towards her team and she herself can heal it off once it’s redirected to her. She should periodically refresh her Skill when her CC res is consumed, but otherwise can just Basic Attack most of the time and raise SP for the team.
Fu Xuan HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Novaburst: Deals Quantum DMG equal to 50% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP to a single enemy.

Skill – Known by Stars, Shown by Hearts: Activates Matrix of Prescience, via which Fu Xuan’s teammates will Distribute 65% of the DMG they receive (before this DMG is mitigated by any Shields) to Fu Xuan for 3 turn(s).
While affected by Matrix of Prescience, all ally targets gain the Knowledge effect, which increases their respective Max HP by 6% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP, and increases CRIT Rate by 12%.
When Fu Xuan is knocked down, the Matrix of Prescience will be dispelled.

Ultimate – Woes of Many Morphed to One: Deals Quantum DMG equal to 100% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP to all enemies and obtains 1 trigger count for the HP Restore effect granted by Fu Xuan’s Talent.

Talent – Bleak Breeds Bliss: While Fu Xuan is still active in battle, Misfortune Avoidance is applied to the entire team. With Misfortune Avoidance, allies take 18% less DMG.
When Fu Xuan’s current HP percentage falls to 50% of her Max HP or less, HP Restore will be triggered for Fu Xuan, restoring her HP by 90% of the amount of HP she is currently missing. This effect cannot be triggered if she receives a killing blow. This effect has 1 trigger count by default and can hold up to a maximum of 2 trigger counts.

Technique – Of Fortune Comes Fate: After the Technique is used, all team members receive a Barrier, lasting for 20 seconds. This Barrier can block all enemy attacks, and the team will not enter battle when attacked. Entering battle while the Barrier is active will have Fu Xuan automatically active Matrix of Prescience at the start of the battle, lasting for 2 turn(s).
Stat Boosts: 18.7 CRIT Rate, 19.0% HP, 10.0% Effect RES
Fu Xuan HSR Traces

Taiyi, the Macrocosmic: When Matrix of Prescience is active, Fu Xuan will regenerate 20 extra Energy when she uses her Skill.

Dunjia, the Metamystic: When Fu Xuan’s Ultimate is used, heals all other allies by an amount equal to 5% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP plus 133.

Liuren, the Sexagenary: If a target enemy applies Crowd Control debuffs to allies while the “Matrix of Prescience” is active, all allies will resist all Crowd Control debuffs applied by the enemy target during the current action. This effect can only be triggered once. When “Matrix of Prescience” is activated again, the number of times this effect can be triggered will reset.
Fu Xuan HSR Eidolons

- Dominus Pacis: The Knowledge effect increase CRIT DMG by 30%.
- Optimus Felix: If any ally target is struck by a killing blow while “Matrix of Prescience” is active, then all ally targets who were struck by a killing blow during this action will not be knocked down, and 70% of their Max HP is immediately restored. This effect can trigger 1 time per battle.
- Apex Nexus: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv.15.
- Fortuna Stellaris: When other allies under Matrix of Prescience are attacked, Fu Xuan regenerates 5 Energy.
- Arbiter Primus: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basik ATK Lv. 1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
- Omnia Vita: Once Matrix of Prescience is activated, it will keep a tally of the total HP lost by all team members in the current battle. The DMG dealt by Fu Xuan’s Ultimate will increase by 200% of this tally of HP loss. This tally is also capped at 120% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP and the tally value will reset and re-accumulate after Fu Xuan’s Ultimate is used.
Eidolon Priority
Fu Xuan’s Eidolons are for the most part sub-par. Her E1 is the only notable one, giving 30% CRIT DMG to everyone under her field, which is not bad as an amp from a sustain. Her E2 can revive teammates, which might’ve been justifiable in 1.x but now we have units like Castorice with a global revive, undermining her role.
E4 gives her a bit more Energy whenever allies are attacked. Lastly E6 can make her a DPS, but Fu Xuan’s damage is lackluster for how heavy its investment is, especially after the release of Hyacine, a more modern sustain that also does relevant damage at E0.
- Eidolon 1: Medium Low
- Eidolon 2: Low
- Eidolon 4: Low
- Eidolon 6: Low

Premium Options

She Already Shut Her Eyes: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 24%/28%/32%/36%/40% and Energy Regeneration Rate by 12%/14%/16%/18%/20%. When the wearer’s HP is reduced, all allies’ DMG dealt increases by 9%/10.5%/12%/13.5%/15%, lasting for 2 turn(s).
At the start of every wave, restores HP to all allies by an amount equal to 80%/85%/90%/95%/100% of their respective lost HP.
Fu Xuan’s signature is great for her, but not necessary for her sustaining capabilities. Fu Xuan scales off of her Max HP for both her healing and damage. The DMG% is nothing too impactful nowadays, but the extra 24% Max HP and 12% ER are good bonuses, particularly the ER for getting more Ultimates.
The biggest benefit of her LC can be felt in multi-wave or SU/DU, where it automatically heals the whole party when entering battle or a new wave.

Moment of Victory: Increases the wearer’s DEF by 24%/28%/32%/36%/40% and Effect Hit Rate by 24%/28%/32%/36%/40%. Increases the chance for the wearer to be attacked by enemies. When the wearer is attacked, increase their DEF by an extra 24%/28%/32%/36%/40% until the end of the wearer’s turn.
Gepard’s Light Cone is not a bad choice just for the fact that 5 star cones have higher base stats than 4 stars. The Effect Rate is useless for Fu Xuan, and the increased taunt can be a double edged sword, but it provides a lot of DEF for Fu Xuan’s survivability.

Day One of my New Life: Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16%/18%/20%/22%/24%. After entering battle, increases All-Type RES of all allies by 8%/9%/10%/11%/12%. Abilities of the same type cannot stack.
Day One is a very good Light Cone for Fu Xuan, arguably the best LC in terms of team dmg mitigation other than Fu Xuan’s signature LC, due to the All-Type RES it gives to the whole team.

Trend of the Universal Market: Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16%/20%/24%/28%/32%. When the wearer is attacked, there is a 100%/105%/110%/115%/120% base chance to Burn the enemy. For each turn, the wearer deals DoT that is equal to 40%/50%/60%/70%/80% of the wearer’s DEF for 2 turn(s).
A niche Light Cone that is good in just one team comp, which is Acheron’s due to the debuff it provides.
F2P Options

Texture of Memories: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 8%/10%/12%/14%/16%. If the wearer is attacked and has no Shield, they gain a Shield equal to 16%/20%/24%/28%/32% of their Max HP for 2 turn(s). This effect can only be triggered once every 3 turn(s). If the wearer has a Shield when attacked, the DMG they receive decreases by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%.
Textures is a very accessible and good Light Cone for Fu Xuan since it’s available in the Herta Shop. Extra Effect RES is nice since it makes Broken Keel’s 30% threshold easier to reach. This Light Cone helps with Fu Xuan’s survivability the most, due to the personal shield at the cost of lower team dmg mitigation.
HSR Fu Xuan Main Stats
- Body: HP% > DEF%
- Feet: Speed
- Orb: HP%
- Rope: Energy Regeneration Rate
Fu Xuan is not a DPS. Just don’t try. Despite getting an ample amount of CRIT Rate from her kit, her only form of damage is from her Ultimate which hits like a wet noodle. Prioritize bulk, with HP main stat pieces as she scales off of HP, speed boots, and Energy Regen Rope.
HSR Fu Xuan Sub Stats
- Speed
- HP%
- Effect RES
- DEF%
Goals and Speedtuning:
- Not much to aim for with Fu Xuan, other than a speed of 134+ and investing in defensive subs. A balance of DEF and HP is preferable. DON’T BUILD CRIT!
HSR Fu Xuan Relics
Guardian of Wuthering Snow/Longevous Disciple

- 2-Pc: Increase Max HP by 12%
- 2-Pc: Reduces DMG taken by 8%.
There is no real suitable 4-Pc planar for Fu Xuan, so a combo of 2-Pc that helps with bulk and HP works.Speed 2pc is a viable option too, but excessive speed does not really help Fu Xuan that much as her field ticks down based on her turns.
HSR Fu Xuan Planar Sets
Broken Keel

- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s effect RES by 10%. When the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%.
Fu Xuan’s one time CC res is great, however that doesn’t mean she is immune to CC once it’s down. Like most sustains, being stunned can risk the team dying. Keel’s CRIT DMG amp is good for multiple DPS as well.
Fleet of the Ageless

- 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.
Fleet improves Fu Xuan’s bulk which is great for her, but the ATK buff is not the most sought out these days, as many other supports provide ample ATK. Plus farming Fleet’s domain nowadays is inefficient.
HSR Fu Xuan Teammates
Fu Xuan can sustain and work with most CRIT DPS, other than characters that require a lot of healing, such as Mydei and Castorice. The DPS listed are just some examples that Fu Xuan helps.
- CRIT DPS: Fu Xuan’s 10% CRIT Rate and CC res. is helpful for any DPS bar break.
Main DPS

Jing Yuan: Lightning Lord cannot act when Jing Yuan gets CC’ed, creating a frustrating experience. Fu Xuan’s one time CC resistance from her field is especially helpful for the General, but this applies for most DPS as losing one turn feels bad.

Acheron: Acheron’s synergy doesn’t have much to do with Fu Xuan, but her ability to use Trend of the Universal Market, that provides a debuff when Fu Xuan gets hit. Trend is only usable on Preservation, and there are only two limited Preservation units released so far, the other being Aventurine.

Blade: Fu Xuan provides a minor HP increase, which helps DPS like Blade that is more sufficient in healing himself than someone like Castorice or Jingliu that quickly drain the team’s health, which would instead kill Fu Xuan.

The Herta: Fu Xuan does have an AoE ability on her Ultimate, which can help The Herta get more Energy.
Harmony/Nihility
Fu Xuan’s sustain is mostly self-sufficient, so there aren’t particularly huge synergies with existing supports.

Sparkle: Sparkle gives allies an ATK buff up to 30%, depending on how many Quantum allies are in the party, which includes Fu Xuan.

Silver Wolf: Not as important post-rework, but if for some funny reason you still want to use old SW, Fu Xuan was able to help reduce SW’s RNG implant.
HSR Fu Xuan Teams
Acheron w/ FX

Acheron Team with Two Nihilities at E0. Reworked SW is a great debuffer and partner for Acheron now. Jiaoqiu is not present since Trend on Fu Xuan is incompatible with Ashen Roast. Cipher is another great addition to Acheron’s team, where she can finish off low HP enemies while Acheron is restacking her Ultimate.
Protect the General

The General requires a lot of attention, and the Master Diviner tries her best to prevent Lightning Lord from taking a hike.. With Sunday’s attention JY can be pulled up along with LL even if he’s CC’d, but Fu Xuan offers another layer of protection for the whole team.

Fu Xuan’s AoE Ultimate can help Tribbie and The Herta get more FUA/Energy respectively. Fu Xuan can get her Ultimate faster under the Matrix due to the additional Energy regen, but the SP economy will be rough. A character like Jade will help with that, as she doesn’t need to Skill every turn.
HSR Fu Xuan Pull Value and Conclusion
Fu Xuan has been usurped by many of the later sustains, both in terms of utility, amp, and damage. The recent addition of HP scaling characters also are incompatible with Fu Xuan’s kit, as they often require massive healing which Fu Xuan cannot provide. 10% CRIT Rate is decent, but many recent characters and relics come with a lot of CRIT Rate and can easily overcap, making her purpose redundant. Lastly, her sustaining has become less reliable, as fights last longer and enemies start hitting harder, putting a timer on Fu Xuan’s head.
Pulling exclusively for Fu Xuan is not recommended, as there is almost always a better sustain that provides more for the team. If you don’t have a sustain though (and you lose to her in 50/50), she should be reliable for most scenarios in keeping the team alive.
