Argenti: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More

Argenti is a Physical Ultimate centric damage dealer and the first character that can store his Energy up to a max of 180. Argenti is able to launch a weaker Ultimate using 90 Energy or a much stronger one that consumes all of his 180 Energy. Argenti’s performance heavily depends on how many enemies there are on the field, performing poorly in Single Target situations, while scaling to be one of the best in wave-like content with 3 or more enemies.

Argenti’s release also came with Pure Fiction, an AoE centric endgame mode that spawns 5 enemies in waves. Argenti is one of the best units for Pure Fiction, as his low cost Ultimate can often wipe the smaller mobs and use his full Ultimate to take care of the Elite. Argenti struggles in other game modes like Memory of Chaos and Apocalyptic Shadow because his 180 cost Ultimate takes a long time to wind up if there aren’t multiple enemies, and his toughness break other than his high cost Ultimate is unimpressive.

Argenti HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

Argenti’s kit is very straightforward. As the majority of his damage comes from his Ultimate, your priority is getting as much Energy so that you can Ult as much as possible.

Starting off with his traces, Argenti gains 2 Energy when enemies enter the battle. He also deals 15% more DMG to enemies with 50% or less. Finally, at the start of his turn, Argenti gets a stack of Apotheosis.

Apotheosis is part of Argenti’s talent. Apotheosis increases Argenti’s CRIT Rate by 2.5% and can stack up to 10 times, giving up to 25% CRIT Rate. Argenti gains a stack of Apotheosis for every enemy hit when he uses any damaging ability. In addition, Argenti gets 3 Energy for every enemy he hits. Argenti therefore heavily benefits from having 4-5 enemies on the field, since it can give him up to 15 Energy (5T). Combined with his trace that gives Energy when enemies spawn in, Argenti can accumulate Energy very quickly in AoE situations.

Argenti’s Skill is nothing out of the ordinary, doing 120% of his ATK to all enemies. It should be noted both Argenti’s Skill and Ultimate hit ALL enemies, befitting of an erudition unit. Argenti’s Ultimate has two forms: A weaker one that uses 90 Energy, and a much stronger one at 180 Energy. Argenti can store up to 180 Energy, meaning he can use his low cost Ultimate as long as he has enough Energy.

The 90 Cost Ultimate does 160% DMG to all enemies, and the full Ultimate does 280% to all enemies, along with a Bounce attack of 95% 6 times to random enemies. Argenti’s Ultimate hits pretty hard when using all his Energy, which should be the case given the high Energy cost.

Argenti’s technique Dazes the enemies for 10 seconds, effectively stunning them. In battle Argenti deals 80% DMG to all enemies along with regenerating 15 Energy.

Argenti’s simplistic kit makes him very effective in content that has 4-5 enemies, often allowing him to spam his 90 cost Energy to eliminate waves, and gaining enough for another one due to the Energy he gains from his traces and talent. Argenti, however suffers in 1-2 target situations, often Elite/Bosses with large amounts of HP. Since his low cost Ultimate does not strike hard, he needs to save up to 180 Energy to launch his powerful version, which can take some time to get, especially with no mobs. Argenti is a character therefore that scales better the more enemies are present on the field.

Argenti HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Fleeting Fragrance: Deals Physical DMG equal to 100% of Argenti’s ATK to a single target enemy.

Skill – Justice, Hereby Blooms: Deals Physical DMG equal to 120% of Argenti’s ATK to all enemies.

Ultimate (180 Energy) – Merit Bestowed in “My” Garden: Consumes 180 Energy and deals Physical DMG equal to 280% of Argenti’s ATK to all enemies. And further deals DMG for 6 extra time(s), with each time dealing Physical DMG equal to 95% of Argenti’s ATK to a random enemy.

When attacking a Dazed enemy to enter combat, deals Physical DMG to all enemies equal to 80% of Argenti’s ATK and regenerates his Energy by 15.

Argenti HSR Traces

Courage: Deals 15% more DMG to enemies whose HP percentage is 50% of less.

Generosity: When enemy targets enter battle, immediately regenerates 2 Energy for self.

Piety: At the start of a turn, immediately gains 1 stack(s) of Apotheosis.

Argenti HSR Eidolons

  1. A Lacuna in Kingdom of Aesthetics: Each stack of Apotheosis additionally increases CRIT DMG by 4%.
  2. Agate’s Humility: If the number of enemies on the field equals to 3 or more when the Ultimate is used, ATK increases by 40% for 1 turn(s).
  3. Thorn Road’s Glory : Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
  4. Trumpet’s Dedication: At the start of battle, gains 2 stack(s) of Apotheosis and increases the maximum stack limit of the Talent’s effect by 2.
  5. Strewn Souls on Erased Earths: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
  6. “Your” Resplendence: When using Ultimate, ignores 30% of enemy targets’ DEF.

Eidolon Priority

Argenti’s Eidolons are nothing exceptional, being just pure damage increases across the board. A far cry from the more recent eidolons after his release that can either completely change the way a character plays, or provide great QoL. His E1 provides a CRIT DMG increase, and E2 gives ATK when there are more enemies; however it’s conditional, needing 3 or more enemies. E4 increases his Apotheosis stack limit, giving up to 30% CRIT Rate now, and E6 provides 30% DEF Shred. These Eidolons are underwhelming because they only increase his Damage, compared to other DPS eidolons that can for example give an extra turn, or shorten Ultimate rotations. In addition, CRIT stats are abundant from supports, further lessening the value of his Eidolons.

HSR Argenti Light Cones

Premium Options

An Instant Before A Gaze: Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36% / 42% / 48% / 54% / 60%. When the wearer uses Ultimate, increases DMG dealt by the wearer’s Ultimate based on their Max Energy. Each point of Energy increases DMG dealt by Ultimate by 0.36% / 0.42% / 0.48% / 0.54% / 0.6%. A max of 180 points of Energy will be taken into account for this.

Great Light Cone for Argenti, being able to get the maximum DMG boost since Argenti’s energy caps out at 180, along with the CRIT DMG increase.

Today is Another Peaceful Day

Today is Another Peaceful Day: After entering battle, increases the wearer’s DMG based on their Max Energy. DMG increases by 0.20% / 0.25% / 0.30% / 0.35% /0.40% per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy.

Really good 4 star alternative for Argenti. The only difference between the Battle Pass Cone and Argenti’s Signature other than the base stats are the CRIT DMG and slightly higher DMG% because Peaceful Day caps out at 160.

Before Dawn

Before Dawn: Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36% / 42% / 48% / 54% / 60%. Increases DMG dealt by the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate by 18% / 21% / 24% / 27% / 30%. After the wearer uses Skill or Ultimate, gains Somnus Corpus. Upon triggering a follow-up attack, consumes Somnus Corpus, and increases DMG dealt by follow-up attack by 48% / 56% / 64% / 72% / 80%.

Jing Yuan’s Signature is a great stat stick, giving an unconditional DMG% increase on both Skill and Ultimate as well as extra CRIT DMG. Argenti however cannot take advantage of the follow-up condition, since he doesn’t have one.

Night on the Milky Way

Night on the Milky Way: For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 9% / 10.5% / 12% / 13.5% / 15%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50% for 1 turn.

Himeko’s Light Cone is great for Pure Fiction if you can satisfy the condition. Since Argenti and Milky Way both scale with the number of enemies on the field, this LC goes hand in hand where Argenti thrives. Argenti’s Ultimate also does good Toughness Damage to meet the Weakness Break requirement for the DMG% increase.

Geniuses’ Repose: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 3 turn(s).

Since Argenti is good at killing waves of enemies in Pure Fiction, the CRIT DMG increase should always be up. Provides ATK% as well, which is always helpful.

F2P Options

Eternal Calculus

Eternal Calculus: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 8%. After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 4%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and last until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit’s SPD increases by 8%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

Decent option from the Herta Shop. However the SPD increase is not that helpful for Argenti in most cases.

The Seriousness of Breakfast

Seriousness of Breakfast: Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. For every enemy defeated by the wearer, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8%, stacking up to 3 time(s).

Decent LC available from the Forgotten Hall shop. Can be used as a placeholder until one of the stronger Light Cones mentioned above is obtained.

The Day the Cosmos Fell: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16% / 18% / 20% / 22% / 24%. When the wearer uses an attack and at least 2 attacked enemies have the corresponding Weakness, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%, lasting for 2 turn(s).

Decent LC available from the Forgotten Hall shop. Is more restrictive than Breakfast, making its performance better on-element and worse off-element compared to Breakfast. Can be used as a placeholder until one of the stronger Light Cones mentioned above is obtained.

HSR Argenti Main Stats

  • Body: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
  • Feet: Attack% > Speed
  • Orb: Physical Damage% / Attack%
  • Rope: Attack% >> Energy Regeneration Rate

Argenti is a standard crit DPS that is heavily reliant on his Ultimate for his damage. Unless you’re running a -1 setup with an action advancer, Attack Boots should always be better, since Argenti is not reliant on turns for his damage.

For his Orb Physical Damage% and Attack% perform marginally similar, and vary depending on the buffs given from your supports. As always, the one with better substats should be used.

Since Argenti wants to accumulate Energy as fast as possible, you may think ER Rope could be better. However this will many times be a damage loss, and since Argenti has many ways to get Energy by himself along with energy battery supports, Attack Rope is best.

HSR Argenti Sub Stats

  • CRIT Rate
  • CRIT DMG
  • Attack

Because Argenti’s 180 Ultimate has a Bounce component at the end, you want to hit 100% CRIT Rate or get as close to it to prevent damage loss. Otherwise the build is standard, wanting to get as much CRIT DMG and Attack.

Speedtuning: Argenti does not have any specific speedtuning. You will need some speed substats though if you plan on running -1 setups with an Action Advancer.

HSR Argenti Relics

Scholar Lost in Erudition

Scholar Lost in Erudition

  • 2-Pc: Increases CRIT Rate by 8%.
  • 4-Pc: Increases DMG dealt by Skill and Ultimate by 20%. After using Ultimate, additionally increases the DMG dealt by the next Skill by 25%.

Argenti’s best in slot relic. Since Argenti will be constantly using his Ultimate, he should have full uptime on the additional Skill DMG as well.

Champion of Streetwise Boxing

Champion of Streetwise Boxing

  • 2-Pc: Increases Physical DMG by 10%.
  • 4-Pc: After the wearer attacks or is hit, their ATK increases by 5% for the rest of the battle. This effect can stack up to 5 time(s).

Provides a straightforward ATK and Physical DMG that can be stacked easily due to Argenti’s Ultimate frequency. An outdated relic set however compared to Scholars.

Thief of Shooting Meteor

  • 2-Pc: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
  • 4-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 16%. AFter the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, regenerates 3 Energy.

A niche but quirky option that can allow you to chain his lower cost Ultimate back to back provided most of the mobs are Physical Weak.

Eagle of Twilight Line

Eagle of Twilight Line

  • 2-Pc: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.
  • 4-Pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.

Similar niche to the Thief Set but in a different light. Not recommended for normal use case, but with an energy battery and AV advance supports, can clear multiple waves very quickly for something like Pure Fiction.

HSR Argenti Planar Sets

Inert Salsotto

Inert Salsotto

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8.0%. When the wearer’s current Crit Rate reaches 50.0% or higher, the DMG dealt by the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack increases by 15.0%.

Good general planar that increases Argenti’s Ultimate DMG and provides CRIT Rate.

Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation

  • 2-Pc: Increases the CRIT Rate by 4%. When an enemy target gets defeated, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 4%, stacking up to 10 time(s).

Best planar when used in Pure Fiction, lacking otherwise. When fully stacked, it can provide a whopping 40% CRIT DMG increase. Given Pure Fiction’s nature of wave clearing, gives plenty of time to stack it to max.

HSR Argenti Teammates

Argenti prioritizes supports that can provide Energy and Action Advance. More turns for him lets him Skill more, thereby giving him more Energy depending on how many enemies there are on the field. He is typically run with two supports that can provide him as much Energy as he can get to launch successive Ultimates.

Harmony/Nihility

robin

Robin: Robin does not have any noticeable synergy with Argenti; however her damage amplification is the best out of all harmonies, which is why she warrants a place in any team other than Break. She can also equip the Penacony planar to boost Argenti’s DMG, since they are both physical.

sparkle

Sparkle: Fast Sparkle allows Argenti to run Attack boots comfortably and spam his Skill whenever it’s his turn. Since Sparkle’s buffs also last till the next turn, Argenti can launch his Ultimates whenever he wants and still be buffed.

sunday

[Future Proofing – Not included in writeup until 2.7 Drop] Sunday: Sunday functions as a more SP positive E6 Bronya, while also providing Energy from his Ultimate. Being able to run a -1 setup without being taxed by SP is of great comfort compared to running Bronya. Sunday’s 20% CRIT Rate also makes Argenti easier to build.

HSR Portrait Tingyun

Tingyun: Tingyun’s Ultimate provides a flat 60 Energy at E6, which is more than half of Argenti’s low cost Ultimate. She is the OG battery support, and though her buffs may be lacking compared to her limited counterparts, is still amazing for Argenti.

jiaoqiu

Jiaoqiu: Jiaoqiu’s Ultimate DMG amplification is of great help to Argenti, making clearing waves with higher HP easier. Other than that Argenti does not benefit from his kit much, so he’s best used as a secondary support.

Sub DPS

Argenti is best utilized as a hyper carry with two supports, however he can work with some sub DPSes.

herta

Herta: Argenti’s 90 cost Ultimate can make the mobs low enough for Herta’s follow-up to trigger, creating a chain reaction.

jade

Jade: Similar to Herta, Argenti can let Jade get stacks of her talent quickly due to his abilities all being full AoE.

Sustain

huohuo

Huohuo: Huohuo’s batterying capability due to her Ultimate makes her Argenti’s favorite sustain. Huohuo gives 20% of their Max Energy, meaning Argenti gets 36 Energy. Combine this with Tingyun, and Argenti will be busy keeping his Ultimate off cooldown.

gallagher

Gallagher: Gallagher is the most effective holder of the Quid Pro Quo Light Cone due to his Action Advance on his Ultimate, which can help battery Argenti or his teammates.

HSR Argenti Teams

Argenti Hypercarry

Argenti Hypercarry

Futureproof (2.7 Sunday)

Futureproof (2.7 Sunday)

Argenti is best played as a hyper carry, with two supports that help him get more Ultimates, whether through Action Advance or Energy batterying, such as Tingyun and Huohuo. Action Advance helps as Argenti’s Skill gets more Energy the more enemies he hits due to his trace.

Duo DPS Argenti

Duo DPS Argenti

Argenti can work with other AoE characters with a support that can buff both of them, such as Robin, to quickly clear many waves in modes like Pure Fiction, creating a chain reaction from Argenti’s low cost Ultimate and Herta/Jade’s follow-ups.

HSR Argenti Pull Value and Conclusion

Argenti is a unit that is great, in fact one of the best, in Pure Fiction. However there are other endgame modes too that are equally valuable, and his performance in Memory of Chaos and Apocalyptic Shadow leave much to be desired. There is unfortunately little pull value when there are other DPS that are good in Pure Fiction, but also can perform in the other 2 endgame modes, such as Yunli who is also a Physical DPS, or Acheron who is also an Ultimate based DPS. His performance can be better with future Energy supports, but how much it will improve him is up in the air.

Argenti thus is very difficult to recommend for any player, as his niche can be fulfilled by other characters while still also being able to be used well in other content.
