S Tier
Holy Priest
Holy Priest in it's current state is looking to be the overall strongest healer in terms of raw healing throughput. It offers a massive toolkit packed with valuable buffs,
Abolish Disease &
Dispel Magic and exceptionally strong talents. The addition of
Binding Heal and
Prayer of Mending combined with the ability to be able to cast
Prayer of Healing on targets outside of the own group is massive. The new
Litany of Light talent adds another layer of complexity by engaging into some sort of a mini-game that keeps the active healing rotation rewarding.
Restoration Druid
Solidly securing a spot right after Holy Priest is the Restoration Druid, completely moving away from the established playstyle of downranking a variaty of different
Healing Touch ranks. Thanks to a revamped toolkit where HoTs can now crit, their raw healing throughput is looking pretty good - even if you consider the latest changes to
Wild Growth and the removal of
Gift of the Earthmother, which was kind of expected. Combined with powerful instant spells like
Nature's Swiftness and
Swiftmend, alongside
Mark of the Wild and the ability to remove Curses and Poisons, they offer a highly competitive and well-rounded profile.
A Tier
Restoration Shaman
Restoration Shaman continues to shine as an exceptional support spec, bringing unparalleled utility to any group environment through their powerful totems. They perform exceptionally well at balancing both tank and raid healing responsibilities simultaneously. A really nice mechanical update in WoW Forever is that
Riptideactively buffs your
Chain Heal, and because that specific buff stays on the target, it makes their overall playstyle feel incredibly smooth.
Water Shield provides a really nice mana regeneration when your heals crit.
Discipline
While going far down into the Discipline tree can feel a bit underwhelming due to
Power Infusion representing the 31 capstone talent, it remains a highly effective support spec, especially if you branch into the
Shadow tree instead of the
Holy tree. Improving your party's Mana regeneration by using
Dark Inspiration adds another level of support ability. Other late Discipline talents still ensure a great tank healing toolkit in addition to
Inspiration, if speced into. The spec faces some scaling issues compared to later expansions - this is largely due to worse scaling on
Power Word: Shield, a somewhat lackluster final capstone talent and no access to Rapture, which was one of the core abilites when this style of Discipline was introduced for the first time in Wrath of the Lich King.
C Tier
Holy Paladin remains to be a decent tank healer that provides a lot of group and raid support through their essential blessings and baseline buffs. Now having access to an AoE healing ability in the form of
Light's Vigil and a shorter cooldown on
Holy Shock improves the overall healing profile, especially compared to previous iterations of the game. Unfortunately, even with the latest changes, due to current tuning and poor overall scaling, they currently find themselves heavily outperformed by other healer specs.
