DeadlockDeadlock Vindicta Guide and Overview
In this Deadlock Vindicta guide, you’ll learn the fundamentals of his abilities, unique play styles, and fundamental tips.
Deadlock Vindicta Overview
Vindicta is the classic Sniper of Deadlock, but rather than a grappling hook, her signature movement option is being able to take flight and levitate above the battlefield.
If you like snowballing, she’s a great choice as her Assassinate grants you bonus Souls for each successful killing blow, allowing her to pull ahead of the pack.
Deadlock Vindicta Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Strong laning phase due to reliable poke, snare, and vantage points with Flight.
Built to snowball with built-in rewards from Assassinate.
Can impact nearby lanes from afar to extend lead to rest of team.
Weaknesses
Lacks horizontal mobility so she’s very vulnerable when grounded.
Can feel useless if she has a rough start.
Limited utility with the Stake being her only crowd control.

Stake (1) | ||
---|---|---|
Throw a stake that tethers enemies to the location where the stake lands. Enemy movement is restricted to the length of the tether. | ||
2s Tether Duration | 60 Damage | 42s Cooldown |
9m Capture Radius | 8m Tether Length | 30% Movement Slow |
Stake Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
-40% Fire RateDuration | -20s Cooldown | +0.75s |
Maxing Stake grants it increased Duration, lower CD, and adds a Disarm effect. If you happen to fall behind, this path allows you to maximize your utility while you catch up in Souls.
Tips for Stake
Unlike other similarly shaped skill shots like Lady Geist’s Essence Bomb and Paradox’s Pulse Grenade, Vindicta’s Stake does NOT wrap around terrain like a sphere.
In order for it to connect, your target must have line of sight with the center of the skillshot when it lands.
Flight (2) | ||
---|---|---|
Leap into the air and fly. While in flight your weapon deals bonus spirit damage. | ||
0.2s Post Cast Time | 12s Duration | 42s Cooldown |
10 Spirit Damage per Bullet |
Flight Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
+50% base Ammo while flying | -15s Cooldown, +6s Flight Duration | +12 Spirit Damage Per Bullet |
Maxing Flight lets you stay airborne longer and grants you additional ammo along with Spirit Damage per bullet.
Tips for Flight
Abuse Flight early on before the enemy team can buy counter items like Knockdown. Try to get angles on nearby lanes to get picks and get your snowball rolling.
Crow Familiar (3) | |||
---|---|---|---|
Your crow familiar deals impact damage and applies a bleed that deals damage based on the target's current health. | |||
40 Damage | 3%/sec Bleed Damage | 26s Cooldown | -6% Bullet Resist Reduction |
6s Debuff Duration |
Crow Familiar Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
Crow Ricochets up to 2 times toward other enemies within 15m | -17s Cooldown | -12% Spirit and Bullet Resistance |
Maxing Crow Familiar gives it ricochet bounces, a lower cooldown, improves its bleed, and suppresses healing. Fiddlesticks vibes….
Tips for Crow Familiar
This is obvious for MOBA-veterans, but if you’re a new player, look to lead your ability rotations with Crow Familiar since it deals damage based on your target’s current health. By using it at a start of a fight, it’ll deal more damage against healthy targets.
Assassinate (4) | ||
---|---|---|
Use your scoped rifle to fire a powerful shot over long distances. Deal only partial damage until fully charged after 1s of being scoped. Does bonus damage to enemies with less than 50% health remaining. Landing. Bonus Souls are granted across team as unsecured. | ||
2 Charges | 1.6s between charges | 53s Cooldown |
140 Damage | 145 Bonus Damage | 250 Bonus Souls per Assassination |
+20% Headshot Damage |
Assassinate Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
-20s Cooldown | +140 Bonus Damage | +600 Bonus Souls Per Assassination |
Maxing Assassinate is your go-to if you want to snowball ASAP as you’ll get even more Bonus Souls. This path also gives you lowered CD and bonus damage to make your killing blows more potent and frequent.
Tips for Assassinate
Although Assassinate's primary role is getting those juicy executes, it has a short enough cooldown that you can consider using it for poke to help whittle down targets into execution range. Afterall, you have up to two charges.

How to Counter Vindicta
Vindicta is one of the two heroes that starts with only 2 Stamina (the other being McGinnis). Look for opportunities to kill her in the early game so she can't snowball as easily.
Respect her Assassinate and don't get greedy by sticking around with low life. If she falls behind, she doesn't offer much utility.
If you can keep her grounded she's loses a ton of her effectiveness, make sure someone on your team has something that can keep her out of the skies.
