It started off as a classic Crook+Atlatl package but eventually included Beehive tech and of all things, even a Dragon Whelp!
As with any other pivot guide, remember that it's less about trying to replicate these exact steps and more so about understanding the theory behind the decisions made so you can apply them to your games.
Sometimes even the strongest builds in the meta will run into bad matchups or whiff on finding supportive components.
The Crook + Atlatl combo is typically one that is consistent to build around for an aggressive Pyg win, but in this Kripp run, he found himself running out of steam and needing to scale.
Beehive is a meta tech choice that is good against Weapon builds (like Vanessa's Crit Knife). It feeds into the Crook's buffing effect that requires Medium items while giving Pyg a defensive angle if you can scale the Damage of the Busy Bees.
By raising the Damage of the bees enough, you can essentially make your opponents kill themselves if they have a lot of weapons, but the tech is best avoided in slower metas where weapons aren't as common.
As we mentioned earlier, this pivot angle is incredibly rare, but it's a good lesson in how to recognize an opportunity and capitalize on it.
Economy is power in The Bazaar because it gives you options - by having a healthy income, Kripp was able to roll 12 gold on a Shipment which lets you roll ANY 3 Small items.
The game-changing item that he rolled is the Dragon Whelp, which is typically found from the Zookeeper PvE encounter.
Similar to The Bees, the Dragon Whelp greatly scales if you can find ways to increase its base damage since its Burn will equal it..
In a head to head matchup, Burn outraces Poison, so its a good option if you're running into a lot of Haste Poison Vanessas.
So how do you find scaling for your base damage? After all, the Medium items are powered by the Crook, but the Bee and Dragon Whelp are Small. The answer for this build was Skills - specifically the combination of Strong Arm, Unwavering, and Sharp Corners.
Strong Arm is a powerful inclusion with any Damage-based Pygmalien builds because it scales with your income, which will usually always be sizeable when using the hero.
Then you have the insane combo of Unwavering (Shields when you use an item) and Sharp Corners (increases your Weapons' Damage every time you Shield.
You'll need to be strong enough to defeat the Lord Arken PvE encounter and lucky enough for the skill to drop, but it's a worthy chase, especially when you need a major powerspike.
To support the core engine of this build, you have a wide range of options, but the main things you're looking for are utility and income.
Adding Freeze to a build that has Burn, Bees, and Damage ramp is always a good idea as it buys you time. Snowglobe offers that while also being a Medium size for Crook's effect and can be placed alongside your Beehive Property to proc its Multicast.
Did you know that if you Enchant Bootstraps, it'll bestow its effects to the items it upgrades? In any Pyg run, Bootstraps is a potent Stash item and Kripp used it to upgrade Atlatl into its Heavy version.
This build would not have been possible if it wasn't for Kripp finding ways to continually capitalize off of Pyg's economic power.
It offered multiple paths of value, from helping the build Damage ramp to empowering the Bootstraps upgrades.
So remember your fundamentals, and you'll be able to make some insane comebacks in the late game!
