Windrose - How to Get Wood Fast

Building a base and managing resources effectively are critical aspects of Windrose, especially in the early game. While doing this, you will likely find no greater need than for that of Wood and Plant Fiber.

Farming these two materials is not exactly difficult - after all, trees and bushes are everywhere in the scattered islands of the Windrose world - but it is tedious and time consuming. Fortunately there's a way to speed it all up!

Whereas you might be tempted to chop down any old Palm Tree or Bush, it's the small but mighty Ficus Tree that you should be aiming for.

There are three main reasons for this:

1. They are often grouped up, allowing you to swing at multiple at once thus yielding more Wood per swing.
2. They are also frequently surrounded by Bushes, giving Plant Fiber as you swing
3. They are significantly easier to chop down, needing only 1-3 chops compared to 5+ for normal trees

Chopping away at a standard single tree might reward you with around 1 Wood per swing and likely no Plant Fiber. Depending on the specific cluster of Ficus Trees, you can yield over 3 Wood and Plant Fiber per swing.

In a game where Base Building, Ship Rigging, and Upgrades are paramount, you don't want to waste time slogging away (pun somewhat intended) at ineffecient Wood farms. Save your time and stamina by seeking out the Holy Church of Ficus!
