Far Far West is a co-op friendly, Western-themed roguelike. As with all roguelikes, there's a strong sense of repitition but with a rewarding permanent progression system.
The main permanent upgrade you'll enjoy is raising your character's level. There are many benefits for doing this, so wanting to max it out asap is key - here's how you do it fast!
Feel free to check out our beginner's guide for some more generic tips on getting started!
Fast Levelling Strat
Speed Running
If you're part of a Speed Running blaster crew that can take down the Nightmare maps in record time, then you're in good hands exp wise.
You have to be fast though, and this isn't accessible to all players. Fortunately, there is an easier method!
Tutorial Mode
Unlike most games, Far Far West's tutorial actually rewards the player with exp upon completion. Not only that, but it's quick to run through too. If you want to get exp fast and can't obliterate runs on Nightmare mode, this is the method for you.
Simply load up into the tutorial and ignore most of what it tells you to do. Get to the boss, plant the TNT, shoot it to instantly blow it up and spawn the boss, and then take it down.
Call the extraction bell and there you have it! A few minutes of time will grant you exp equivalent of beating an easy mission.
Set Up
There are a few ways to make this even faster.
Stick all your points in Speed so you can zoom around the map more efficiently. Remember, your strength isn't really being tested, just how quick you can get it done.
Another thing is to make use of certain spells such as Portal to get around the map faster.
Outro
Who would have thought that spamming a tutorial mission would be the best way to level up?
It might not be particularly engaging, so feel free to mix it up with some traditional gameplay to keep your sanity in check.
