Catalyst (1) | ||
---|---|---|
Spew napalm that slows enemy movement and amplifies the damage Infernus does to them. | ||
1 Charges | 6s Cooldown Between Charges | 25s Cooldown |
20m Range | 50 Damage | 35% Movement Slow |
20% Damage Amp | 8s Debuff Duration | 4s Slow Duration |
Catalyst Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
+1 Charges | Infernus gains 15% Lifesteal against victims | +20% Damage Amplification and -40% Heal/Regen |
Maxing Catalyst helps Infernus maximize his healing while debuffing the healing of enemies.
It gives him an additional charge, 20% Lifesteal from targets, and adds damage amplification and decreased healing/regen on targets.
Tips for Catalyst
When you’re learning Infernus, this ability’s range can be strange to understand at first. It’s essentially a 20m cone that extends from his body.
Keep an eye on enemy itemization throughout the game and target the ones that have healing/regen effects when teamfights begin to happen.
Flame Dash (2) | ||
---|---|---|
Move forward at high speed and leave a flame trail that burns enemies. Hold [LMC] to dash faster. | ||
20m/s Max Dash Speed | 40 DPS | 40s Cooldown |
3s Dash Time | 12m/s Dash Speed | 4s Trail Duration |
Flame Dash Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
+30% Fire Rate Slow for 6s | +45 DPS | -20s CD |
Maxing Flame Dash slows enemy Fire Rate, adds more damage, and lets you cast it more often with a -20s cooldown.
It’s a potent option not only for AoE builds but also great for clearing neutral camps and waves quickly.
Tips for Flame Dash
Infernus wants to snowball early and stay ahead of the curve - Flame Dash is perfect for getting a big gank off of a nearby lane, so keep an eye out for opportunities.
Afterburn (3) | ||
---|---|---|
Your bullets build up to apply a burning effect on enemies. Infernus' bullets and abilities will refresh the duration. | ||
15 DPS | 3s Burn Duration | |
9% Buildup per bullet | 14% Headshot buildup | 15s Buildup Decay Time |
Afterburn Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
Victims deal -25% Spirit Damage. | +1s Burn Duration | +30 DPS |
Maxing Afterburn is pretty simple, it just does more damage to the enemies you’re already shooting at. However, simple doesn’t mean it’s not strong!
Tips for Afterburn
During laning phase, try to find angles where you can unload a solid clip into an enemy rather than sporadic burst fires.
It takes a few hits to build up to a stack and if you aren’t getting the burn off, you’re likely losing out in trades.
Concussive Combustion (4) | ||
---|---|---|
Turn yourself into a living bomb that explodes after a short delay, stunning all enemies in its radius. | ||
12m Range | 160 Damage | 127s Cooldown |
1.25s Stun Duration | 3s Explosion Delay |
Concussive Combustion Upgrades | ||
---|---|---|
1 AP | 2 AP | 5 AP |
-40s Cooldown | +0.5 Stun Duration and +4m Radius | +115 Damage and 100% lifesteal from enemy heroes hit |
Maxing Concussive Combustion lets you cast your ult more often, extends its Stun Duration and radius, deals more damage, and lets you heal off of all enemies hit by the explosion
Tips for Concussive Combustion
The classic way to use Concussive Combustion is to activate it before running in with Flame Dash, but you can also prime it while riding a Zip Line or with items like Warp Stone. Be creative!

How to Counter Infernus
Avoid extended trades during the laning phase as he'll win out with his DoT (damage over time).
Infernus has a ton of horizontal mobility but lacks vertical options, try to keep the fight in your favor through positioning.
With one of the best neutral camp clears, you can sometimes set up an ambush with your teammates since he'll expend his Flame Dash to take camps.
