Diablo 4 Sorcerer BuildLightning Spear - Fallen Angel
Winterglass is a build defining unique that lets us make a ton of conjurations when we cast Frozen Orb. In turn these conjurations will spawn even more frozen orbs. This build is essentially a frozen orb build, that is relying heavily on the Splintering Aspect on a staff to kill everything when lightning spears critically strike enemies. It procs a very large damage blast that chains to 5 other enemies.
Despite the nerfs to lightning spear and the Winterglass amulet, splintering has retained it's uncapped scaling with critical strike damage. It's a shell of it's former self no doubt, but it is still strong.
Raiment TP enchant
Enchantments • Teleport Enchantment for booping around with raiment • Burning is applied with familiars formed from the Winterglass Amulet (slight skill tree tweaks to regular version) • Frozen Orb Enchantment for.... more Frozen Orbs
• You can drop Unstable currents for teleport if you want, run Snowveiled over Orange Herald
• You do NOT want to ever run Ice Blade Enchantment on Frozen Orb • You can create 3 ice blades from casting off the skill bar • You can create an additional 3 ice blades from EITHER using the enchantment, or having Winterglass create them • These are 2 separate caps, you cannot get 6 from either source alone
• Crit chance and attack speed are super dependent on if you get greater affixes on starless and perdition. Please adjust masterworks according, I cannot account for EVERY scenario
strengths
- Splintering has uncapped scaling
- Hits like a mack truck
weaknesses
- Nerfed Heavily going into S6 (still fine tbh)
- Running a staff can feel slow
Build Notes
1) We will be spamming Frozen Orb, Lightning Spear, and Ice blades whenever we can
2) We utilize Ice armor defensively for a large barrier, and you can pretty much press it whenever it comes off cooldown in the endgame builds. It is typically an engage.
3) Teleport is used for mobility, and to dodge exploding pools
4) Flame shield is used to immune frame boss/shade attacks and exploding pools. You can also use it as an engage if Ice armor is down.
The Fractured Winterglass amulet received some extremely large buffs going into season 5, and was subsequently nerfed slightly going into Season 6. The reduce conjuration affix has been moved to the implicit, so you are stuck at 0.3 seconds per frozen orb explosion.
As a result, the way pure lightning spear is played has changed dramatically, hence Fallen Angel. Don't be afraid though, it was so high up that it only fell down to earth, not into obscurity. It's still a viable build for torment 4. Those who were used to Lightning spear in season 5 however, may find it lackluster.
We take the Splintering Aspect on a Staff as our main damage dealer and to get a 2x value out of the aspect. Your lightning spears will obliterate everything in sight due to the chaining portion of the splintering aspect. Despite splintering not chaining on single target bosses, it still has a lot of strength because it scales uncapped with critical strike damage.
It is especially potent when Mobbing. Once you get your attack speed up high around 96%, you should be able to reach 26 conjurations with this build, the max that is available. With 13 ranks to Conjuration mastery, that is 338% more damage.
The more conjurations we can get out, the higher our damage will be because of the Conjuration Mastery Passive. This passive also increases our mana regen which helps sustain this high attack speed. It also increases our movement speed to easily cap at 200%, which maxes out the 40% crit chance bonus from Esu's Heirloom boots. This build should hit 100% crit chance after the bonus crit chance from Esu's boots.
