Build Details
Arc Lash - Lashing Currents is going to revolve around its Basic ability, low cooldowns, incredibly high attack speeds to continuously refresh cooldowns and massive durability to keep us in the fight. We'll also throw in Ball Lightning, with the Ceaseless Conduit legendary and focus on Crackling currents and Ball Lightning for that added damage.
This season Arc Lash is looking up to be pretty impressive, working incredibly well with the new powers to increase its attack speed through Moorise and Ravenous. We'll be adding the buffed Crackling Energy legendary, Ceaseless Conduit and focusing more on Crackling Energy damage rolls as everything this season has become additive, meaning these rolls are a lot more beneficial than they were before.
Sanguine's Brace and Resilience on top of Vyr's Mastery should keep our Damage Reduction incredibly high, coupled with Moonrise and Ravenous for attack speed and we should be able to mow through content with our Basic Ability alone.
It may be the case that Overflowing Energy is better here to reduce cooldowns. Still, I'm anticipating the huge Cooldown reduction from our attack speed and Anticipation will be enough here to allow us to benefit from the Damage Reduction Vyr's brings, if the Damage Reduction isn't needed we can switch to Overflowing Energy.
Defensive Note: We're using the Amulet for +bonus points toward defensive skills, without the Amulet we will not have bonus points thus no defensives, to deal with this early game we'll want to subtract points from skills like Chain Lightning or Charged Bolts and place them into Ice Armour and Flame Shield. You might also choose to use Esadora's Overflowing Cameo as an Amulet, thus, you will need to rearrange some points for that as well.
In-Depth Explanation
In Mastery we’ll be levelling our Ball Lightning, we choose to level this as another source of damage because of how it scales with our kit and the modifiers we take. In our build, we want a lot of attack speed for “Arc Lash”, due to this if we take “Enhanced Ball Lightning” which lets “Ball Lightning” scale with our attack speed by ticking faster, serving as a good increase in damage from one stat.
We'll also couple this with the Ball Lightning Legendary, Gravitational Aspect, allowing our Ball Lightning casts to follow us around and no longer get cancelled.
- Our initial engagement is with Teleport, followed up by a Frost Nova to freeze and apply vulnerability.
- We want to activate Unstable Currents during Elite packs, it’s generally a good idea to pull things toward an Elite so we don’t waste Unstable Currents.
- Unstable Currents does almost everything, spamming all Lightning skills every time we hit something with Arc Lash, so spam Arc Lash as much as possible when Currents is up.
- Use Ice Armour consistently, there’s no reason to save all of our defence spells for “Best case” as we have a decent up time, instead save “Flame Shield” for those critical moments.
- Attempt to grab “Crackling Energy” where you can.
