Build Summary

This build revolves around Poison Imbuement's ludicrous damage potential. Although the skill has a pretty long cooldown, by using Bursting Venoms we manage to constantly reset its cooldown, allowing us to make it our build's engine. Through the use of synergizing aspects and unintuitive stat scaling we can unleash its true devastating power.

In this variation of the build, we focus on the strength of Smoke Grenade and Combo Points in combination with Umbrous to complement the build.

Build Notes

Gameplay Loop
  1. Walk to the next pack of enemies.
  2. Engage with Poison Imbuement already active.
  3. Hit enemies with 2x Poison-Imbued Twisting Blades.
  4. Dash and/or Shadow Step towards next pack of enemies.
  5. Dash or Smoke Grenade on top of Elites.
  6. Cast Poison Imbuement.
  7. Cast a 3:1 Puncture -> Twisting Blades rotation.
  8. Bursting Venoms procs.
  9. Cast Poison Imbuement once.
  10. Cast a 3:1 Puncture -> Twisting Blades rotation until enemies are dead.
  11. Repeat.

  • Generally save Shadow Step for when you get CCed.
How It Works

By combining Bursting Venoms, which has a chance to reset the cooldown of Poison Imbuement when used, and Pestilent Points, which makes our Puncture cast Poison Imbuement every third cast, we regularly reset its cooldown and also create a three-second puddle that allows every Twisting Blade to be poison-imbued when we stand on it.

With our gameplay, we seek to have Poison-Imbued Twisting Blades returning to us while we are killing high-priority targets such as Elites. While it's seemingly an inconsequential change in the way we operate, this accomplishes multiple things that enhance the build's effectiveness:

  • It funnels and kills monsters following us.
  • It creates maximum damage Bladedancer blades that spawn right on top of the Elite we are killing.
  • It creates more Bursting Venom proc opportunities around the Elite we are killing.

All in all, this smoothens the build's gameplay which can be hamstrung by lack of Bursting Venom procs when they are most needed.

Season 3

This build has been incredibly heavily nerfed. It should still be viable but nowhere near as good.
