This build scales
Golem as the solo damage dealer for insane amounts of damage thanks to Hulking Monstrosity and the newly released
Gravebloom which lets you summon 3 extra Golems, which alongside the new bugfix to
Aspect of Fel Gluttony, allows you to destroy all the content in the game. This build is the premiere build for Necromancer in Season 12.

Build Variants
This variant is not intended to be a leveling guide, so check out our This Build for the best ways to level your Necromancer.
This variant is optimized for no Uniques.
Assigned Skills

Until
Gravebloom and the Hulking Monstrosity Paragon Node are acquired, it is recommended to use this full minion set up that includes
Skeletal Mages and
Skeletal Warriors Reapers.
Alternatively, you can take the
Skeletal Warriors Sacrifice for a large boost in Resistances if staying alive is an issue.
Blood Golem is chosen as our Golem of choice thanks to its x50 damage multiplier passive.
Aspect & Uniques

The goal of this build is to spam your
Golems Blood active skill, and the gear choices reflect that with Cooldown Reduction, Golem Active Cooldown Reduction tempers, and
Aspect of Fel Gluttony all allowing you to endlessly spam your
Golems Blood for massive damage.
Unyielding Commander's Aspect with
Army of the Dead is used on this variant over
Soulrift because of the need for offensive aspects, making it a clear winner over
Soulrift when you don't have Uniques.
Ring of Mendeln should be the first Unique farmed as its an incredible damage spike that will carry you easily into torment 4.
Gravebloom should be the second Unique acquired, at which point you're ready to move onto the next variant of the build.
Your priority for Bloodied Affixes are as follows:
- 3% Core Stats per Skill Streak tier
- Every 25 kills, gain Berserking
- Attack Speed per Kill Streak tier (if not 100% for
Cult Leader)*
- Cooldown Reduction per Kill Streak tier
- Movement Speed per Kill Streak tier
- Increased Experience per Killstreak tier
An important note is that
Aspect of Fel Gluttony has been bugfixed in Season 12 to work with Chance For Golem To Hit Twice tempers, making it a high value aspect for both Cooldown Reduction and damage.
Skill Tree
0 (0)Paragon Board
While this is the optimal Paragon you want to go for, it is recommended to deviate from this at the start and prioritize the Hulking Monstrosity board and any HP/Resistance nodes to help get through early game faster.
Mercenary
How it Plays
- Keep up
Soulrift - Use
Golems Blood active ability to deal damage and proc
Hewed Flesh - Cast
Corpse Tendrils on the Corpse to group up enemies and activate
Aspect of Grasping Veins - Cast
Bone Prison /
Blight on the grouped enemies for the damage multiplier - Spam the
Golems Blood active ability to deal massive damage and proc
Aspect of Fel Gluttony
How it Works
This build relies repeatedly spamming your
Golems Blood active ability with 4
Golem by utilizing
Gravebloom to deal massive AOE damage in combination with
Aspect of Fel Gluttony.
Because Hulking Monstrosity requires us to Sacrifice our
Skeletal Warriors and
Skeletal Mages for our
Golem, this allows us to gain powerful effects such as
Stand Alone,
Memento Mori, and
Sacrificial Aspect. This makes
Golem based builds incredibly tanky compared to normal minion builds.
While
Ring of Mendeln isn't best in slot for End Game Pit / Tower pushing, it still takes its place as king of Midgame by instantly increasing your power enough to push to Torment 4 with no issues thanks to its incredible power spike.
Ring of Mendeln along with the
Skeletal Warriors Defenders sacrifice in combination with
Sacrificial Aspect makes
Golem one of the best Mid Game builds you can play thanks to its easy to gain power spikes and incredible amount of Resistances you get for free.
Leveling
Follow this build for your 1-60, and swap to the pure Golem setup once you get
Gravebloom alongside the Hulking Monstrosity Paragon Node.
Soul Rift
Traditionally minions builds have played
Army of the Dead to get access to the
Unyielding Commander's Aspect. However, there are big issues with uptime on
Army of the Dead due to its longer cooldown and the lack of Increased Duration temperings for
Army of the Dead.
Soulrift ends up having much more consistent damage while also giving a massive amount of survivability.
Minions have the ability to hit Lucky hits, which in combination of
Abhorrent Decrepify, allows us to easily get great uptime on
Soulrift especially in Pits / Tower.
Why Only Buff Golem?
Unfortunately because Hulking Monstrosity is such a strong paragon node, it makes it much stronger to specialize around your
Golem with
Gravebloom than it is to try and run a Hybrid build. That being said, for speed farming hybrid builds are actually okay because mobs have a lot less health in lower content, and the extra damage you gain from focusing on scaling one minion isn't needed. This only works End Game though as through majority of the game you will need this damage to push into higher Torment Tiers.
Uniques
Shroud of False Death: Because
Golem based builds get to run powerful passives such as
Memento Mori and
Stand Alone, this build gets even more use out of this unique than normal minion builds. Out of all the Mythic Uniques, this one is the highest priority.
Heir of Perdition: Best in slot helmet that provides incredible stats like Critical Hit Chance and Movement Speed. While not as important as
Shroud of False Death, it's still a must have for any serious End Game minion build.
Blood Moon Breeches: The crit chance, Golem Mastery, and Hellbent Commander make this irreplaceable.
Gravebloom: Core unique that adds loads of damage while also giving additional Golems for better AOE damage.
Ring of Mendeln: One of the biggest Mid Game power spikes of any Unique in the game. This gives minions their signature Mid Game strength. Its also still useful for speed farming in End Game.
Elixirs and Incenses
With the abundance of herbs now in the game it is now very easy to grab some consumables to either shore up big weakness with your character or to massively increase your strengths. I highly recommend you regularly keep Elixirs and Incenses running. Below I laid out the best consumables to use for every situation.
Elixirs
If you need more of any specific resistance or armor, use those elixirs first. Once you have enough armor and resistances, look to use the
Elixir of Advantage for the extra attack speed. If you're having trouble staying alive and you have enough armor and resistances, you can use the
Elixir of Fortitude to gain a 20% hp multiplier.
Incenses
For incense you have a couple of options, depending on what your character needs.
Core Stat
Sage's Whisper: Generally the best option as it gives the most amount of damage.
Spiral Morning: Not a bad alternative, as the all stat gives some armor and also helps hit breakpoints in paragon tree. Only use if there's specific paragon nodes you're trying to reach.
Resistance
Soothing Spices: Best all around option as it gives +10% all resistances and +2% max resistance to everything. Only use another option if needed to hit resistance caps.
Defensive
Song of the Mountain: Great early game option for the +300 Armor
Reddamine Buzz: Gives +750hp, best option if you are already armor capped.
