Lightning Storm (Lycan Storm)

HARDCORE FRIENDLY: Lightning Storm is a solid B Tier build in Season 9. It can easily clear all Torment 4 content and is probably the Best Infernal Horde farming build. It's no slouch in The Pit as well clearing past Tier 90 without best in slot gear.

However, Lightning Storm isn't as punchy as the better A and S tier builds so if you're looking to topple Tier 100+ Pits you'll need incredibly great gear. This build can also be a bit busy for the average player. It relies heavily on Snapshotting the Clarity passive into your Lightning Storm to optimize your damage for The Pit.

• Cast Maul and Lightning Storm to build Shifting buffs and Wildheart stacks
• Cast Grizzly Rage
• Cast Blood Howl then Companion skills to stack buffs that SNAPSHOT into Lightning Storm
• Refresh Grizzly Rage as needed
• Recast Blood Howl and Companion skills every time you stop channeling Lightning Storm

For this build you will NEED the Tempest Roar, Unsung Ascetic's Wraps, and the Wildheart Hunger uniques. It also benefits greatly for the Ring of Starless Skies and Shroud of False Death mythic uniques. We will also be using the Grizzly Rage ultimate and Aspect of the Rabid Bear combination to really amp up our damage.

This Lightning Storm variant leans heavily into Shifting buffs for big damage, attack speed and damage reduction so you will be using Maul and Lightning Storm to build up Wildheart/Quickshift/Heightened Senses/Bestial Rampage buffs before casting Grizzly Rage. However, once in Dire Wolf form, the runeword IgniQue will easily maintain Wildheart stacks (This will actually shift you into HUMAN form so cast a WOLF skill to IMMEDIATELY shift back). We also have the runeword **NaguKry for grouping enemies and the Horadric Spell Astral Pillar for easy executes.

Lightning Storm greatly relies on SNAPSHOTTING to optimize damage. Before each channel of Lightning Storm you will need to cast companion skills 2 to 3 times to stack the Clarity passive buff and Blood Howl for maximum damage output. For normal Torment 4 content this isn't necessary but, if you are pushing/farming pit or farming Belial it is mandatory.

The Cooldown/Duration tempers for Grizzly Rage will allow you too easily maintain Dire Form even on World Bosses.
