Diablo 4 Barbarian BuildNatural Disaster Whirlwind
Welcome Youtube Watches! This planner is always the most up to date version of the build there may be some small differences from the video.
For a simple, chill, easy-to-play speed farmer, you can't get any better than this!
We're taking Whirlwind and combining it with a bunch of new "Auto Play" features so you can turn off, relax, and just hold one button and watch all the enemies on the screen go bye-bye.
When geared correctly to, this build will not shy away from the toughest content in-game, though it might not be the best at bossing it more than makes up for that with silky smooth farming for pretty much any other content in the game.
A quick note: The basic skill is never used in this build and it's not important which one you use. This is a Dual Wield build make sure Whirlwind is set to these weapons.
strengths
- Speed farming
- Easy to play
- Entry level build
- AoE Clear
weaknesses
- Single target
- Late game scaling
Build Notes
Playing this build couldn't be easier!
- Pocket your mobility skills for when you're in trouble, especially *Charge** because this is your CC break.
- Pop Rallying Cry & Wrath of the Berserker on cooldown.
- Hold down Whirlwind (tapping tech no longer works)
Though this is a Whirlwind build interestingly this is not where our damage is coming from! It might be more accurate to call this a Dust Devil build, with Whirlwind acting as the source of these Dust Devils. This is why for example you see that would won't be taking many skill points into the Whirlwind skill it's self.
Here's a break down on how the main components to this build work:
Ugly Bastard & Perma-Berserking
The new unique Ugly Bastard converts all direct damage (anything besides a bleed) to fire and then increases that damage by 80x, this is a HUGE damage boost for almost all Barbarian builds so you'll be seeing this a lot in our build guides. To guarantee good uptime on Berserking and by extension this boost to our DPS we will be using Anger Management, which so long as we are above 40-55 Fury will keep us in a constant state of Berserk.
Magnum Opus, Lorcrans & Max Fury
The Magnum Opus is a staple for many builds, it provides a monstrous amount of generic damage to any build that can get away with being Dual Wield. It scales with your maximum fury for every point you have you'll get up to 0.5%x damage, that's 50%x before you even have any bonuses to your baseline resource pool.
This pairs naturally with Lorcan's Amulet which does a similar thing. for every point of Fury we have we can gain up to 0.4% crit chance with a cap at a staggering 40%, with this amulet and one or two critical hit chances roles on other pieces of gear, it's not all that hard to hit 100% chance to crit! after that, every point of Fury you have beyond your baseline of 100 is converted into critical strike damage!
That's 3 damage sources being scaled by one stat!
Dust Devils
Good old Dust Devils, for this build this is where all our damage output is coming from and I want to quickly cover some important information about the inner workings of this mechanic.
With the Fierce Winds Aspect your Dust Devils will gain 1%x damage for each %size increase they have, it's not mentioned anywhere but there is a cap of 100% size to most things in the game so be sure not to over-invest in this stat.
Dust Devils are NOT skills, so they will not scale with things like Edgemasters or Limitless Rage.
Earthquakes?
Yup, we're using Earthquakes, through the new Rune system we're able to very easily create a bunch of Earthquakes by simply moving around, and that's not all that hard with a Whirlwind build because we're constantly in motion. But. it's not really the Earthquakes we're after, instead, it's the bonuses associated with them.
The first is we can now use the Earthquakes aspect which will boost our damage by up to 30%x as long as we stand on the Earthquake, and thanks to some increased size tempers these areas are huge, making it easy to stay on one.
Secondly, we can use the Rumble glyph, this provides up to 50%x damage, 10%x for each active Earthquake.
And finally, we can use the brand-new legendary paragon node Force of Nature which creates Dust Devils from our earthquakes!
