Lunging Strike

The Lunging Strike Barbarian Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4. This build gains insane power from Ramaladni's Magnum Opus combined with Hooves of the Mountain God and Paingorger's Gauntlets for some really powerful damage.

Lunging Strike Rotation

• Cast Wrath of the Berserker to give you Fury Generation, increased damage and pull enemies to you.
• Cast Rallying Cry and War Cry to increase your Fury Generation and damage.
• Cast Lunging Strike and don't stop attacking.
• Use Ground Stomp paired with Strategic Ground Stomp to reset the cooldown of Wrath of the Berserker so you can maintain Unstoppable and Berserking, while continuing to pull enemies to you.
• Repeat

Arsenal Selection

This build will be running on a Two-handed Mace as your Arsenal selection

Lunging Strike Damage

• This build will be running on a Two-handed Mace set up in order to take advantage of Belligerence, Heavy Handed and Wallop and we are running Ramaladni's Magnum Opus alongside Shard of Verathiel
• • Note Ramaladni's Magnum Opus has been changed to always be active, even if you are not using Dual Wield.

Offense

• Aspect of the Moonrise will will increase your attack speed as you hit with a Basic Skill. After 5 attacks you've capped out your bonus. At 5 stacks you gain bonus damage and movement speed for 10 seconds.
• Hectic Aspect is a key part in making sure you have Wrath of the Berserker active 100% of the time. After 5 attacks with a Basic Skill, you reduce your cooldown timers.
• Wrath of the Berserker will be a great source of extra damage as well 10 seconds of Unstoppable and Berserking. We will also be able to use this as a pull, to help group up monsters which increases the damage we do by keeping monsters within our cleave range from Hooves of the Mountain God.
• Aspect of Adaptability when you cast a Basic Skill above 50% Maximum Fury you deal increased damage.

Fury Management

• If you're running Crown of Lucion (The Strongest Option) you may run into Fury Management issues if you don't have the Ring of Starless Skies. Crown of Lucion adds 5 times the normal Fury cost to your Lunging Strike and Ring of Starless Skies cuts that cost in half. If you find yourself running into Fury issues:
• Run a Legendary Helmet with aspects like Hectic Aspect, Undying Aspect, any defensive aspect will do.
• You can also run Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty. This is a great option for anything outside of the Pits until you get Heir of Perdition.
• Use Heir of Perdition. This is actually the easiest way to gear the build since it makes it easy to hit your Critical Strike Chance cap at 100 and gives a lot of Lucky Hit.
• You can also use Ugly Bastard Helm for the Fury generation and Damage Reduction.
• If running Shard of Verathiel drains too much Fury, take it off until you have enough masterworking to maintain enough Fury Generation.

Rune Combinations

Creating Overpower

• Moni and Xan will be your most consistent combination for boss fights to proc Overpower.
• Ahu and Xan will be your fastest mob clearing option. This will allow you to Overpower basically every attack, but only when monsters life is below 80%.

Vulnerable + Damage

• Cir and Ceh will spawn wolves that apply Vulnerable Damage and will also help spread the proc from your Paingorger's Gauntlets
• Cir and Thul will Freeze enemies, apply Vulnerable Damage but will not trigger your proc from Paingorger's Gauntlets. You will need to rely on Ground Stomp and Wrath of the Berserker to apply the proc.
• Ahu and Thul will work, but you will won't be able to apply Vulnerable Damage until monsters are below 80% life.

Uniques

Key Build Piece

• Shard of Verathiel gives us a big damage multiplier, with a bunch of other incredibly great stats. It also adds a Fury cost to our Basic Skills allowing us to take advantage of the Ring of Starless Skies.
• Ramaladni's Magnum Opus is an incredibly strong unique if build correctly. It increases your damage by up to .5% per point of Fury you have. The Unique Aspect is the most important part of this weapon, followed by the Maximum Resources. On build that get close to 400 Fury this weapon offers 200% increased damage.
• Paingorger's Gauntlets activate when you damage an enemy with a Non-Basic skill. This can be achieved through Wrath of the Berserker. If you cooldown is too long for this to be effective, you can use the Cir + Ceh rune combination to constantly maintain uptime on your Paingorger's Gauntlets buff.
• Hooves of the Mountain God add a massive form of damage by making Lunging Strike Cleave, meaning it hits multiple targets instead of just one. It also increases your damage when you hit maximum Fury, however your Fury will start to drain at an increasing rate until it hits 0.

Mythic Uniques

• Melted Heart of Selig will add huge amounts of Maximum Resources to your build, which will add massive damage scaling with this set-up.
• Ring of Starless Skies adds damage to all of your abilities after you spend primary resources.
