Precision hits increase stability and reload speed and drain combatants' life force to charge a ball of Darkness. [Alternate Weapon Action] to restore health and fire the charged projectile, shrouding combatants in Darkness to temporarily blind them and inflict corruption.

The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage, drawing from the wielder's life force, and then regenerates itself. Defeating powerful combatants or multiple targets rapidly restores health.

Touch of Malice (ToM) has two main traits that make this weapon truly exotic. The first of which is its main exotic perk Touch of Malice which lets this weapon fire infintely when on its final round and deals more than double damage at the cost of damaging the user every shot. Defeating three targets will heal the user though. The other perk, Charged with Blight, builds stacks for every precision hit, and is equipped by holding the reload button. It fires a Taken Captain slow moving Blight shot which blinds, damages, and weakens targets by to Touch of Malice's damage allowing ToM to deal 150% damage to the affected target. The way to optimize these perks is to always utilize the weapon with its final round, play a build that has plenty of healing with rifts, healing grenades, etc. and when in encounters for boss damage, prep the Charged with Blight perk to max stacks, and shoot the boss with it the moment it becomes vulnerable and then deal DPS with the final round when standing in a rift to avoid being killed by the weapon's self damage.
