Armor

Solar final blows recharge your Barricade. While you have a Solar Super equipped, casting your Barricade unleashes waves of Solar energy that damage and scorch targets. Combatants damaged and Guardians defeated by these waves are enveloped in a Sunspot.

How It Works
  • We can use our barricade to send our solar waves, but now we send out 3 waves instead of just 1 that no longer return to the barricade. These waves deal a good amount of damage and scorch enemies but will also create a sunspot on any enemies they hit.

  • This is huge since we can take ember of ashes to apply 90 scorch whenever a way hits an enemy. A sunspot will immediately form and add the extra 10 scorch stacks. Meaning that any enemy that you hit with your barricade will ignite. The other huge part of this exotic is that solar kills will provide 15% class ability energy though there is a 1 second cooldown. So now you can use your melee, solar weapons, or even your ignitions and sunspots will all feedback a ton of class ability energy.

  • The One BIG gripe that I have is that the solar waves won’t be buffed by roaring flames. I’m still choosing to take roaring flames so that our our melee and grenade can deal more damage, but mainly so that when we use our super it will also deal up to 73% more damage. I do this because with the new roaming super regeneration update last season, we can take Hammer of Sol and we will get our supers back in no time. That way you can spam that barricade to wipe out groups of enemies, then pop your super if you need to deal damage at range or just want to quickly wipe out a ton of enemies.

Gameplay Loop
  • It’s honestly really simple, pop your barricade as much as possible. You can then walk through sunspot to gain restoration, or use your throwing hammer to create a sunspot near you. Then kill with your solar weapons to extend that restoration and feedback that barricade. Anytime I get low on health or need to deal some damage at range, I pop that super and start throwing those hammers. Though I do try and get 3 powered melee kills before popping my super to deal the most amount of damage with it.

  • In tougher content, you can swap out the grenade for the healing grenade to have an easy way to proc restoration and gain a burst of health.
