Destiny 2 Warlock BuildChromatic Fire - Ash & Iron - Updated
PvEKills refill the magazine, increase damage for a short duration, and grant Super energy based on the strength of String of Curses. Fires full-auto.
Final blows from Kinetic weapons create an explosion in the element of your equipped Super that deals damage and applies a matching elemental effect: • [Arc] Blinds targets. • [Solar] Scorches targets. • [Void] Weakens targets. • [Stasis] Slows targets. • [Strand] Severs targets. Elemental final blows temporarily increase the explosion's size. Precision final blows always maximum the explosion's size.

Use the TechSec armor for the bonuses to kinetic weapons (2 & 4 piece set bonuses). You can take Outbreak Perfected or any other exotic kinetic primary you like or switch it up and use a legendary kinetic primary and Microcosm. Giver's blessing is a good choice for a legendary because of the seasonal bonus and temporal blast. I'm fond of kinetic tremors with rewind rounds, but anything with kinetic tremors can be fun. Microcosm is a monster against shields in general and more with the boost from the armor set. It's not the best for DPS necessarily though so choose the weapons based on the activity. With the rework to Chromatic Fire, things should be blowing up all over the field when defeated with kinetic damage. If I run Outbreak I like to pair it with Returned Memory and Outrageous Fortune. It really just depends on the activity. And you can run what you like. I'm not your dad.
**Update - Since Ash and Iron released I've been playing with Bad Juju a lot and the explosions are everywhere. I've been loving it with Unfall in the energy slot (with jolting feedback).
I primarily focused on the weapons stat and then added to grenade, but you can switch it up based on your play style. Because I went with more grenade stat the mods on the gloves are there to help with ability energy. You can switch them out to impact induction and focusing strike if you like more melee. Same thing with the class item - you can switch to outreach instead of bomber if you want more melee. I took Weaver's Call with the mandatory Feed the Void to have the extra fragment slot and benefit from some strand perks but Hellion could work too. Weaver's call is also good to add the extra darkness damage so you get transcendence really quickly. The facets I chose were largely to help deal with champions. Two that are pretty important are facet of grace for transcendence and facet of protection for...that's right, protection! Facet of purpose is good too since it can give you restoration or you can switch your super if you prefer nova bomb to have overshields or needlestorm to get woven mail. The other ones are dealer's choice. I'm still not your dad.
***New Update! - After the re-rework to Chromatic Fire, the explosions do seem to come from ANY kinetic weapon kill, not just precision kills. The re-rework also added back the subclass verbs, so having a weakening blast on every kill has been dope. Add that to Bad Juju's already frequent explosions and this is actually fun? I'm loving good old Nova Bomb for the weakening as well as for the void overshields on orb pickup.
The artifact is pretty irrelevant with the build tbh. Some good interactions can come with the strand perks and Weaver's call pairing but they're not strictly necessary for the build to work.
**Update - With the new artifact mods I've added pack tactics. With weavers call and these strand perks, the little psycho green buddies do some good work.
Use kinetic weapons to take out enemies. Watch them explode. Profit?
